What about another class to Darktide

What would you guys think about adding another class to Darktide?

Yes AdMech or Servitor with the Solo mode patch.

Good

Definitely not happening for a while if at all

what?, patch 13 wasn’t enough?

not nearly enough. they gave us 5 slots and only 4 classes, not to mention the promise of adding new classes that they have yet to do. they’ve had awhile to add new classes, they may as well just do it already. like, really, just one would be fine.

They did, there was just confusion due to Archetypes->Classes.

Which now is called Class-> Branches.

We got 8 in the Tree Update. Unknown whether or not more are planned.

i believe that if development resources hadn’t been spent on things like Havoc, Mortis, and the PT Finder, we could have had new weapons, new Blitz, and a new tree with keystones by now.

Sure cause map makers/enemy makers are the one making weapons animations and stuff

A hive ganger class would be interesting with a turret/aggro magnet, traps and stealth crit tree, in the aesthetic of Orky kontraptions etc but Hive style.

I am so bored of peple trying to put AdMech into everythnig

A disgraced Arbites Officer/Imperial Navy Rating/Navy Security Breacher with the same tree style but with a different aesthetic would be great too. They could also be a cc/tanky style more like the Ogryn with their own shield, and could have a cybernetic implant or 2 (completely aesthetic) to appease the ‘AdMech’ groupys.

I wouldn’t be averse to a rogue Eldar finding their way into the disgraced Inquisitors teams either. But a normy Eldar, not a frickin Warp Spider Exarch
 and no other xenos.

There’s also plenty of room for another Human Militarum recruit. Perhaps from a Scout regiment, an Infantry heavy assault regiment, or a heavy weapons Operator who now plies their trade with explosives, contraptions and logistics hinting at a more supportive playstyle like bubble Psyker.

Edit:

And while I could theorycraft endlessly, the Eldars Blitz would absolutely be bullet time for 6 seconds for the team. No, they would not have unique weapons at Launch.

More classes with a possible solo option would be absolutely fantastic! There’s so much they could do with this game still!

rather solo mode over a new class but be good to have after that hurdle.

I bet it doesnt happen before march 2027, when they will release their new secret IP for which they are currently hiring for.

Mark my words.

I’m pretty sure the sheer cost of voiceacting alone (for the existing classes and personas) reduce the chance of us seeing a completely new class to pretty much zero.

This. Those 3 personalities should be compible with the rest of the classes is crazy. FS kinda trapped themselves.

Was it the same in VT2?

Yup, but it’s “worse” in DT because here characters have 3 personas. So not only you need to record basic responses for the new class and its personas, you also need other personas reactions and cross reactions too, as they differ.
Math is not my fortĂ© but but I’m pretty sure this can result in 1-200 replies for one situation only, and there are other variables like who starts the interaction

So yeah, a completely new class would mean tremendous amount of voiceacting work, and that ain’t cheap.

Honestly I don’t think the voice acting is too much of a limitation hell every update even minor ones they go all out on the voice acting.

For the pretty minor nightmare and visions we got a load of voice acting from a bunch of different characters

Community Manager.

Blitzes manipulate aggro, support auras, abilities based around some sort high-suppression auto turret, and launches with the unique Ban Hammer.

Na, everything is AI now, I’m sure they could fit it in the budget
