Weekend after Havoc release week already has 10K less peak players on steam

It must be a very relaxed place to work Fatshark, I am surprised at how poorly they seem to operate. HD2 or SM2 dev teams actually give their player bases what they want, crazy idea I know for modern gaming.

Sadly in this era of gaming, yes

Well yeah, free super credits/premium currency makes up for whatever bs they have to throw at us. So yes, it is a pleasure, cuz its all free. If you spend your hard earned dollars on Helldivers 2 premium currency, youre (not you personally) actually a brainlet, I’m sorry.

No no, not just this era of Gaming. It has always been this way. Launch week is the strongest. A few months in the ā€œnew thingā€ might as well not even be on the market anymor, as it dropped off a cliff by then. Exceptions apply, but the dropoff in players is always quite sharp.

Pretty sure he’s laughing because no amount of free currency (hyperbole) is going to make up for how scummy a rotating shop is. Even if it is mostly cosmetic.

It does not improve end user experience in literally any way shape or form.

Warbonds are great though.

well, who wonders.

i see what the intention was, create a challenging game mode.

so apparently the team tried to make the game difficult for the most used builds. turned gunners up to 9000, added corruption by the ton, and huge ammo expenditure to kill enemies.

and so you got a situation where you don’t really fight gunners, but rather switch them off by shoving relics and shields into their faces, and can’t really use your preferred fury zealot, smashing ogryn and gun psyker.

oh, but you can use those too, not just the new meta builds.

yes, you could… if it wasn’t absolutely necessary to get a team first in that karkin party finder, that is go knocking on doors and get rejected by whatever tourist that happened to start with havoc earlier and got to a higher havoc level, no matter the total experience, or just because you have the wrong build or class (cough, ogryn)

and then most people only want to play it safe for fear of demotion, which isn’t their fault, but the result of how the game works.
so you have a premade, or it’s rather time consuming and annoying.

so i’m trying to get that h40 as well as my free time allows me, before the party finder gets devoid of capable players. not because i like havoc, but to be done with it and return to maelstrom, where i can hop into any game without fumbling around with party finders, demotions and ā€œsafe playsā€.

It is potentially free which is good. The problem is instead of working on an xp system or something it is based on static drops unaffected by difficulty. So I have to choose whether I want to have fun playing level 10 missions, or actually progress to earn new weapons by potentially spending hours running around empty maps looking for little blue pick ups. Maybe if you played the game a lot this would not be an issue, but HD 2 isn’t my main game and it’s frustrating having to choose between those 2 options.

Additionally, now they have weapons that rotate on and out of the store. For example, I was unable to play any game after the Illuminate update dropped, so I was completely unable to get the stun baton. While thankfully idgaf about that weapon, if it was a weapon I wanted I would be rightfully pissed off.

HD 2 has the potential to have an amazing cash shop/progression system but I hate it in it’s current implementation. That’s before even mentioning since cosmetics are tied to stats and perks you can have armor that looks cool you want to wear absolutely suck.

OP doesn’t seem to realize Darktide regularly gets +10k Steam players on large patches which then drops back down to the normal ~5k then to ~2k if there’s a content drought.

Tbf I think the Havoc game mode lends itself to burning people out much quicker than the base game. Running 1-2 hours of Havoc genuinely tires most people I’ve talked to out and just doesn’t feel like fun for a lot of people. You can already see some of the most well-known and skilled streamers quitting the game mode because it simply doesn’t feel very fun to play.

I really hope Fatshark comes back next year and rethinks some of the more frustrating aspects of Havoc: ranged enemies, lack of viable build variety, severe player nerfing, hidden mechanics, and the modifiers to name a few…

Nah, Helldivers 2 cosmetics are literally all free, if you see it any other way then you are in fact a brainlet, again not personal, yet I’m sorry for whomever it may concern.

Player numbers always rise and fall with updates and I figured havoc would be something people participate in and then stay away from but im sure some will stick with it. Ive stopped playing it all together cuz i find it to be a miserable experience with randoms and I hate the modifiers but I told my fiance before it released that this would be the outcome. I said watch theyre gonna mess with our health and toughness and gunners are going to be insane and youre going to be matchmaking with noobs who have no clue what theyre doing and there is a demotion mechanic. I called all of this but tbh i really dont care I just want performance to be better so we can actually play the game cuz rn on console game is unplayable outside of a few damnation games here and there.

24 month average since release (except this month) is very close to 9000 monthly. It’ll definitely fall below that after the new ā€œpeak contentā€ havoc dwindles and its novelty is worn off.

because what you’d call ā€œreal lifeā€ sucks to the point of whenever i bash someones head in with a shovel and scream at the top of my lungs :for the emperooooor

some local enforcer doesnt accept the fact they can repurpose the twitching mass into a servitor once im done.

theres just no flair or fun, simple as.

40k is that feel good zone i need to endure this weak 4ss soap opera outside my house.
