I can’t help but be amused by the irony of the person advocating for community-driven moral censorship proceeding immediately to call people who disagree with him toxic a-holes, and be practically ‘mobbed’ (I use the term advisedly) by people disagreeing with him.
I like the idea of clear cut cases of bigotry and hate speach having consequences. I’d not go further than temporary chat bans though, or perhaps temporary full service bans. But the pragmatic reality is that Fatshark is a small company, they cannot hope to examine the veracity of the huge volume of reports they would get, and people can and will report people for trivial or wrong reasons. So they can’t do it manually, and automation is doomed to failure and abuse.
In addition to this, the vast majority of players will have their experience improved more by actual development on the actual game. We do not live in some utopia where we can divert limitless time and resources to stopping people hurting other people’s feelings.
I also can’t help but find something creepy about censorious online moral arbiters getting worked up on behalf of hypothetical people they imagine might get offended, and declaring anyone who disagrees to be morally inferior. There’s something sickly about it. And what’s particularly amusing to me is the irony that this is taking place in a forum for a game set in the 40k universe.

You can vote kick them. If the other people in the lobby do not feel the need to kick them, then you’re the only one with a problem and should leave, problem solved. If the other people in your lobby agree to vote kick, then again, problem solved.
There is hardly a point to make against your nonsense, which was pointless to begin with. But you have yet to provide any compelling evidence that this game’s community is so incredibly toxic that a report system is not only warranted, but, according to your own admission, should be FS’s number one priority at launch. I have layed out my own experience with over 3k hours in VT2 and that I have not encountered this issue at all. You just want to be offended on other people’s behalf. Fine by me, but please do it in private.
Because that’s how report functions work? They usually require a volume of reports before they’re flagged to be looked it.

Or you could, you know just ignore someone who is clearly just trying to provoke a reaction? The beauty if online-gaming is that it is very hard to direct any kind of racial slur against your other players, when you have very little ways of determining what “race” they are to begin with.

No. But I am not the one advocating for a change. I layed out my bona fide of my experience. You have yet to provide your own experience as to why you think the change is necessary, other than “It might become a problem for some players”.

I hit my ‘done’ threshold after being insulted, attacked, strawman’d, and insulted some more.
And if a mod were to tell me to cool it; I’d accept it as a consequence of my actions.

Well, mods wouldnn’t be the ones doing the reporting, if such system was implemented. They probably wouldn’t even be bannig people, because the system would be probably mostly automated, as FS probably does not have resources to have people reading all the reports like megacrops do, just FYI
