Good f**** job fatshark, good, f***, job.
Now I think I can finally pick the other auras without feeling like I’m just throwing the game lol.
Movement speed bonus, come to papa!
I mean… if the only worth you brought to your team was being an ammo bag, the class might not have been the problem.
They definitely went overboard with the Survivalist nerf I agree, but it was the most OP aura in the game by far. Many of us experienced rejects have been crying for a nerf for it for a very long time now and for good reason. Personally I’ve avoided it for almost all of my builds precisely because of how popular it is and how easy it makes the game. There are countless ways to build your character on T5+ that don’t rely on gamebreaking amounts of extra ammo.
Besides, if the nerf is as overdone as it seems, they’ll adjust it soon enough. Tbh even a 1-2s CD would’ve been enough.
The cooldown is 5 seconds. You’ll live.
Throne forbid you have to conserve your ammo or use your melee a bit more often.
Did two missions on damnation quickplay as a vet with survivalist, both runs with chainaxe/plasma.
Noticed the ammo pinch a bit but nothing that couldn’t be managed, though i can see it being noticed on auric/mael.
More interested to see if there was a nerf to plasma guns i wasn’t aware of because plasma doesn’t seem to penetrate/knock away bulwark shields anymore, but it at least made things interesting.
i just finish a solo/auric maelstrom, didn’t see any big change since 4 months ago.
Eh, it still does its job fairly well. Close Order Drill and Fire Team are still less appealing to me.
While I think the nerf was not necessary and completely overdone - I’m pretty sure I still can contribute to my team as a vet.
At least my DKoK trooper will soldier on regardless if those bloody traitors reduced the ammo you can loot from their bodies
A range class without ammo, how ridiculous
Now the clown fiesta begins.
Dead wrong, it’s someone like you who post more on this forum than actually playing is the problem, now I’ll tell you what is a mechanically better horde shooter, killing floor 2, and what is the mechanically better horder slasher, vermintide 2.
Now if you have any doubts if I have any base competency of playing a game like darktide, I can show you some scoreboard records, you’d be amazed how I can MVP every I-II-V-E-G using bolter even after the huge nerf. Oh and I can also link the video which I got world record solo on kf2 if you down. But mostlikely you wouldn’t be remotely able to comprehend any of this judging by your behaviour on this forum.-_-
I’ll give you a hint tho, my skill level is way beyond what this games mechanics cap me at, and now they are capping me even harder so yes I’m here to complain and not offer any constructive criticisms because fatshark won’t listen despite once said in a dev blog “oh we are so excited to learn more about how the darktide combat flow should be over time”-_-
There were some ammo intensive weapons Veteran didn’t really use better than Zealot that sorely need buffs anyway. But Judgement keystone took a nerf instead of crit cooldown builds so its not like it wasn’t universal. Seriously recon las guns and auto pistols are terrible, along with the braced autoguns that do not cleave. Shotguns are done way better on Zealot still because of annointed in blood and throwing knives. They needed a lot more than the giant ammo supply you got from being near Veterans and still do.
Mostly I see this changing my builds (finally) to no longer curve for this aura if I don’t want to commit the points. Which if you don’t wanna use frags is very expensive for Veteran to run both. Eh.
On lower difficulties or with 3 other non vet player is still fine, but what’s infuriating is that they just keep dumbing down the shooting aspects more and more without dressing more pressing issues like broken ads animations, inconsistent recoil, and oc hit reg.
I’m primarily a fps player, coming into darktide was because they advertised they were gonna mix good gun play, although theres gunplay for sure it’s far from good or even decent imo, but still Ive already played 2.2k hrs because I see potential, but again they keep making shooting worse with every update which makes me very mad.
Now to be fair, darktide has taught me a lot in terms of first person melee, that part I know is the essential part to keep me alive in most difficult situations and a big contribution to my growth as a player too. Because of that I managed to finish a couple of souls like games which I never touched for years after purchasing.
Finally someone know the stuff
Veterans only know how to cry ? The patch only gave them Buff and now they come out to cry , when they continue to ruin the rest of the classes like the ogryn who now also has to be useless melee or another Nerf more to the zealot.
Quite frankly, as a former Vet main myself (now Zealot), Survivalist had it coming. The infinite ammo you got on aurics with no effort was too powerful an aura, especially considering the minimal effect the other two auras have. 5% damage/MS do not help with breakpoints at all and barely change anything, compared to, say, 20% more damage versus suppressed enemies (which is very easy to do), 10% CDR on active abilities, or 15% TDR.
Veteran is still a powerful class with insane versatility via grenades and anti-armor talents, with the ability to keep crowds controlled and burst down dangerous enemies quickly and easily. The difference now is that Survivalist barely does anything now, much like the other two Veteran auras.
All the people saying ammo leech should be incorporated into Vet’s base toolkit are wrong, I think, but the auras need another pass. Right-tree Veteran is still weaker than more traditional Veteran playstyles (even with OfB giving an absolutely ridiculous 5% toughness on any kill) and Voice of Command is still top dog in powerful, spammable active abilities.
The fact that multiple vets running survival is actively punished is pretty stinky design, at least make vet auras like their grenades where they can just pick one without any possibly unwanted baggage if we’re going this route.
Wait, it’s a universal CD? So if multiple Veterans have Survivalist when one gives ammo back it triggers the CD for the others whether the others are in coherency or not?
It’s not about plasma
