Thrust useless now

I would rather they just put Thrust banking back in, it was pretty limited besides chainaxe and thunderhammer. Leave the fix for Pinpointing in because Ogryn MVP special sniper was just odd to experience one shotting Flamers. Maybe those weapons could just work instead of relying on a blessing. Like how Thrust is more convenient on Ogryn than anything since the damage output vs spammed heavies isn’t amazing but it throws out enough stagger to keep you from needing to throw punches/shoves or dodges.

None should.

on TH, it is very inconsistent for me. sometimes i do 75% of a bosses HP in a hit, sometimes 25% now. all stacks and all. and weirdly enough, its more consistent w/o zealot ult. so jus regular heavy no ult.

#nomorenerfs

Even gachas understood to sometimes give you what you want independent of the RNG.

Chastise the wicked now resets thrust stacks. Are you perhaps charging your heavy then using Ult? Because if so you’re likely resetting your thrust stacks right before the hit. Gotta Ult then full charge now which is very annoying frankly.

Make sure to use the „scoreboard damage“ mod, so that you can see the damage and kills separated by melee and ranged weapon.

In my experience, ogryn are very rarely at the top for damage dealt or enemies killed.
And when they are, they were usually carried by brainlessly spamming their machinegun, not by their melee weapon.

i was jus made aware of that on stream. thats a definately a bug. reposted it as a bug. thx man

I don’t like the idea behind nerfs in general and I’m worried with new wave of nerfing requests on the horizon. While I understand Thrust was bugged and it wasn’t planned for the effect it did, I’m concerned about the aftermath.
When I hear Thunder Hammer, this is what I have in mind: Warhammer 40,000: Space Marine - Thunder Hammer Features Demonstration | OFFICIAL | HD - YouTube

Granted, it’s not Astartes that wields it and so result should be scalable but still pretty close when we change Captain Titus to Zealot.
And that’s coming from Veteran player who never even touched Zealot and usually dislikes this class for dashing of from the group.

I really don’t like idea that every weapon have to be viable on highest difficulty. There should be “training weapons” which are supposed to be discarded when player is done with lower treat levels (rejects - above 15th level).
A good set of weapons should be dedicated for Heresy / Damnation with enough variety to allow for multiple different playstyles.

I understand there always be push for standard 3 types:

  • High Fire rate/attack speed, low damage and high dodge
  • Moderate Fire rate/attack speed and moderate damage and moderate dodge
  • Low Fire rate/attack speed and High damage and low dodge

But every time a weapon is stripped from its essence described in Lore, or is made to be cumbersome in use (I’m not talking about inertia - inertia is fine) in opposition to the Lore it just hurts.
I will get used to it. I always do, but after that comes realization: “I’m swinging reskinned metal pipe that makes bonking sound instead of power sword”.

When I saw Zealot sending Crusher flying it made me feel pride and happiness I could witness such a feet. When Psykter nimbly dances around monstrosity I feel resolve to keep shooters away, so the dance can continue. When Ogryn sends infected flying I want to see mashed heretics scattered around him, not enemies getting up and swarming the big guy.

What I definitely WILL NOT DO is to demand to take away from other classes, especially if I will probably never play them…
And it’s not a power fantasy. I can make peace with failed runs if Abominable Intelligence Director will do his worst to quell light of Emperor in us.

When we die, we die.
When we are overwhelmed by shooters…
When Zealot dies separated by incendiary grenade before anyone could get him up…
When horde strikes with hounds and you cannot dodge because there is no place to dodge to…
When unnoticed sniper rips apart teammate…

I can fail and be happy about it, if the job is done. It’s sometimes just bad luck or off day.
But I want to fail with best equipment for the job, blessed by the OMNISSIAH, knowing we all did our best and the Emperor was just watching over someone else that day.
Right now some weapons machine spirit slumbers or suffers in silence because it cannot unleash its full potential.
Further downgrades because something does too good of a job demanded by THE UNORDAINED is TECH-HERESY and AN ABOMINATION in the PHOTORECEPTORS OF THE OMNISSIAH.

Chant for the prevention of malfunction
“May your weapon be guarded against malfunction,
As your soul is guarded from impurity.
The Machine God watches over you.
Unleash the weapons of war.
Unleash the Deathdealer.”

Ah right! That makes a lot of sense actually hehe. Stacking those buffs before charging in would indeed make a difference, totally forgot about that.

I don’t see myself doing this however, when I see a deamonhost I lose all sense of control over my body and just charge in and kill!!!

Creating a W40K game and deciding that power and chain weapons need to be balanced against latrine shovels is indeed baffling game design.

The litany of percussive maintenance:

Frak this thing
whack
That quartermaster has it out for me
whack
Who the kark built this thing
whack
Those toy soldiers always get the better stuff
whack
Join the Guard, they said
whack

You forgot your Holy Tool for the rite of percussive maintanance:

Ah yes, because making the game less fun is such a great idea, why don’t you go work at Fat Shark, I’m sure they’d hire you in an instant with that nerf everything fun attitude towards balance.

It’d be better to buff the underpowered weapons, like the shields, clubs, kickback and shovel. Bring them up to a level similar to the Ogryns good weapons.

Careful what you wish for in balance for your particular niche (a sword) when an Ogryn on the tabletop game is a monster compared to a guardsman.

There’s a difference between following tabletop rules to the letter in a coop game that is not compatible with tabletop, finding sensible and interesting balance between classes and weapons… and needing to make every single interesting weapon completely boring because they copy-pasted every weapon and every moveset from vermintide, thus making most things incredibly samey and not very 40K in the slightest.

Seriously?
It should have been expected
It was a bug

Thrust is not less effective than before the patch that introduced the bug.
It is a good blessing

Are you serious?
What difficulty do you play on?

fully charging an attack in a game like this is a big investment, you get hit and stunlock by everything, scoring a hit with the thunderhammer is an art, it should be rewarded accordingly, i’m not saying it was good to keep it bugged, but a +100% damage would be very much justified

They play Damn like probably most of the people commenting here. Nobody complained about thrust before it was bugged. It was still widely considered THE T Hammer blessing (and I’d argue Chaxe too). I guess a few people just got used to its very dumb bugged state. Absolutely wild to me anyone would try to argue normal thrust is bad or that a +150% power blessing should exist.
