Give it a cooldown on activation, but finally give its baseline form power.
Its still hillarious that DS is a better hordeclear, anti armor, anti carapace weapon - but thats a DS problem.
Even if DS didnt exist, thunderhammer would be bad - outside of gibbing bosses.
I’d much rather see the power sword 2-3 swings on one activation system, blessing or not. THammer still has hits eaten by server silliness and get-down-mr.president poxwalkers sometimes.
Or give me the splosion radius for horde clear.

I kinda like the power function, it’s the unpowered state that gives both lousy player experience in terms of hit report and general damage for how slow it is. Also despite being slow and a large hammer and not very far reaching in range it has very little stagger. Also maniacs take 50% damage from most attacks except ironhelm H3.
I’m sure it’s fee fees only, but I’ve dumped all the melee attack speed I can in the new tree and Thrust still feels like it takes FOREVER to get even 2 stacks.
Yes, the fact that powered Thammer overheads barely even make nearby Poxwalkers flinch is wild. All non-Elite enemies within 5m should cower or get knocked away.
Yea, it really should apply light stagger or suppression to enemies in a small radius on hit. I wouldn’t say knock away because that’s stepping into Crusher territory.
Fair enough, at least something that really drives home it’s name Thunder! With how powerful it is and the sound it makes, the fear of the Emperor’s might should be put into all non-Elite enemies!
No, the weapon is weak and outperformed hard by even new chain weapons.
The ONLY thing hammer does is boss damage, a faaaaaaaaaaaaaaar inferior version of VT2 hammer.
That thing on slayer absolutely annihilates anything, AS its SUPPOSED for a weapon with sh-t mobility and defense
Yeah this has always been the problem IMO, and it’s not been addressed through many buffs since the power attacks is all anyone wants to talk about.
I’m fine taking a while to kill a group of ragers unpowered but I should at least have the stagger power to whack them around fairly safely in the mean time. Ideally I could knock them back then capitalise with a quick charge attack to execute one then go back to knocking them around to create more opportunities.
Unpowered lights attacks also still ought to kill the squishier elites and specials in a timely matter. Otherwise why do they exist?
Fun fact: Evis Mk XV can one-shot a H40 Rotten Armor Crusher with a crit weakspot heavy, +25% carapace, a couple stacks of Marty, the +15% vs elites talent, and stacking all the damage buffs from the BP branch. So just grab Bloodthirsty, use the special one some random target, then proceed to saw your way through a Crusher horde.
But you get to cry while you try to do it because Mk XV rev no longer stuns Crushers for some reason.
I played it enough and saw that its an inferior version of VT2 hammer (which are 1:1 except powered strike)
And its baseline power is weak compared to VT2 even when wielded by max marty zealot.
Its slow, thrust doesnt take attack speed into account, it has 2 dodges, animation for powered attack is slow, without thy wrath by swift its pointless to even try, in LORE TH is THE strongest anti armor infantry melee weapon imperium has (outside of excotic weaponry).
TH with carapace and thrust 4 doesnt even kill a crusher. Its a joke.
Its only upside is boss oneshots (which shouldnt be a thing)from invis.
And - and I hate that it exists - Havoc mode, which is an abject failure as its a gameplay mode which removes content (as even LESS things are viable in it).
P.S. you still dont take zeealot to it after book nerf, you take literally anything else and perma stagger it with smyker/arbi mines and it dies to - FOR SOME REASON DOTS STACKING WITH UNCANNY (which is the stupidest interaction in the game and its singlehandedly responsible for havoci existing)
It is true.
Havoc is a mode that requires the most sweat minmax builds possible.
Otherwise its either mathematically impossible for a human to win it

You are a selfish person that wastes 3 people’s time because you took a heavy sword/combat axe/chainsword/crusher etc instead of DS
Same goes for talents.
HISTG Auric never was “too easy” it was people using the most broken of sh-it to get through it.
And instead of reigning in back the obviously unintended mechanics - such as uncanny working on dots - DS oneshotting crushers with easy to achieve breakpoints

Buffing the obviously weak stuff like heavy sword, combat axes, illsi force sword, devil claw (which has parry and nothing else) a MANY blessings.
They added a mode which even more limited the build variety and caters only to people who minmax.
