man i just got the first powersword on my vet and i gotta say i love it so much… like i so wish i could use it on my fudging zealot instead because truly i have never used a better feeling melee weapon in any game…
It’s a crutch and like other crutch in the game should be nerfed. It allows you to ignore 99% of the melee mechanics. Another “Press X to win” weapon.
If “99% of melee mechanics” can’t bring the same joy of combat, maybe something is wrong with them instead.
If you want “one click” depth of gameplay I suggest you play some mobile games.
PSword is a braindead weapon, it need to be reworked
Ignore these haters.
It is a lot of fun. Power Cycler makes it better with Slaughterer and the chump mobs fall before you with or without the charge up.
I agree it would be nice on the preacher, but they get the hammer and eviscerator… so we all use the Antax
Happy slashing.
Eviscerator = worst attack pattern of all melee weapons of the game… WORST
Hammer = good weapon with big flaws… the crucis MK II has the problem that the energized attack discharge on the first enemy, the new hammer has lower damages. But main problem of these weapon is the crowd control. All these weapons can only hit 3 enemies, not more (and they are labelled as crowd control ). And shock & awe doesn’t work at all
New Mk VI version of PS is a bit more interesting cause of attack patterns.
It’s not the worst, it’s quite easy to get into the rhythm of it
Strongly disagree, you atleast need to use SOME brain cells to combine heavies and lights in chains for different situations, not just spaming 1 button.
There’s an easier way, we can just ignore your demands
Power Sword is fun. Heavy Swords get a lot of hate, but they’re pretty solid on Zealot. They’re not a horde clear weapon like the Power Sword is though, for that Zealots have the Flamer.
Fact is… you don’t use the attack pattern…
you use a workaround to make the eviscerator working.
If you use the attack pattern, this is catastrophic.
Yeah no, gonna say right now that you will have a field day if they ever implement halberds into this game and import the v2 pattern.
It is how it should be - weapon is a riddle itself and you need to understand how to use it properly, how to unlock its full potential. I use heavy+light combo for a horde clearing and push atack if there is no time window for a swing. Utilyzing different atacks as tools - this is a combat depth. While PS is some console peasantry for zoomers. I would say combat axe with BM is also simplistic.
Its a weapon where you need to manipulate the attack patterns like you used to do with a lot of VT2 weapons, i find it quite fun to use sometimes instead of just spamming lights or heavies.
It requires much more defensive movement than many other melee weapons.
So i disagree.
An attack pattern shouldn’t be binary, that’s the strength/identity of many of the weapon in VT2, and in DT we see the following of it. You need to learn the patterns and when to go in loops or change the attacks
Like having Group/Sweep on heavy and Single/armour on light or vice versa is not bad persay, like the Exe Sword, but weapon where there are particular attack loops are also great, like the Halberd.
like the Exe Sword
Like having Group/Sweep on heavy and Single/armour on light or vice versa is not bad persay
Yes, but even than it’s more nuanced in V2. Like 3rd light of exe-sword not horizontal but upward diagonal and has +10% crit chance, while overhead is high risk - high reward kind of atack.
OP only created a topic to share his joy, and a bunch of elitists came in to grumble “play only as we do”.
You are definitely worth the current game quality.
