The new ogryn premium

That jacket at least has the Steel Legion logo on the armband unlike the original. I am uniquely upset at how much lower the effort is now, for more money.

by dishing out free monopoly money for newcomers they need a sink to get those welcome gifts back.

only ones getting double rear ended are those being there from the very beginning, not included in the handouts and tried to be drained by overprized b-tier cosmetics.

then again, these were meh when they were 800 so i definately not spending any money on these now.

shame they destroy any interest in further drip going down this road, but hey more budget for mcfarlane warhammer army building.

still spending it on a warhammer theme i enjoy, just not here.

The most bland cosmetics sets I have seen so far. It looks like they are not even trying to make something cool. Like how can you not come up with endless awesome looking sets, that are actually worth the price, with WH 40k as the source material?

I mean, they did give us a map DLC worth of content for free. I guess they try to make up for it this way. Or it’s supposed to be an “Aquilas sink” for all the stockpiled Aquilas Xbox Players have.

That said:
I invested big time into Tencent stock. It’s been down for a while, but I hope it moons in Chinese New Years at the latest. C’mon Fatsharks! Don’t let me down. I need ze gainz. You are a part of my schemes now. Plz!

If tencent are behind this
Perhaps they should make fatshark take a note out of their real money maker
Fortnite and you know update the store more frequently and with stuff that’s actually unique that people want and comes with individual outfits that can have different preset options

Like compare the pair, oh here’s a clone trooper bundle for like 10 bucks that comes with several different regimental skins
Then you have darktide here’s an outfit for 15 and it’s reskins for 15 too or even more expensive than the original as we see here.

Honestly I don’t think tencent are the ones behind the store being bad because they literally have games under them that run better stores. I honestly just think it’s typical stupid completely out of touch fatshark again completely fumbling something they barely understand while doing a terrible job of trying to copy the rest of the industry’s homework.

There’s a lot of flat out lies and bs about “recolors” and “reskins” here and over at Steam, including some really odd complaints about clipping errors most of which aren’t even noticeable and even then tend to be far less than most skins in other games have. But this isn’t it.

Nothing wrong with selling a reskin with different colours per se, but the price should match. Specifically, if you have one version of the skin, you should get a massive discount for the new one. That would just make way more business sense too. It would let them easily and quickly keep adding different colour schemes on the side for miniscule effort, while still getting a few bucks for it from those who have a variant already. Something to complement the main skin sales, and all without the bad publicity and lack of goodwill this does.

But while it’s no excuse for the oggy, the new psyker skin is actually fantastic and since I love white and robes it was an instant buy. The pants also match fantastically with the Illisi Mk VC Psykana Garb (that white sleeveless skin). That same chest piece did have a reskin that was black earlier btw.

What flat out lies
They take an existing item, put a skin on it and then sell it at full price
Or sell it for even more than the original bundle with less stuff in it.

Or as we see here thinking a mask and goggles is worth 1600 Aquilas or that making it desert camo to snow camo somehow makes it worth more.

For the drip should be an official part of the game, we should be able to freely colour customise cosmetics the game is more than capable of doing it with more fancy camo skins for premium items being behind a reasonable price tag

So, Where’s the lie, stop covering for bad practices intentionally designed to screw us rather than a system that could benefit both the player and rather than what we have now of crap poorly designed out of their pure greed and sheer laziness.

Still remember when you were confident they were going to add more items to the comissary with the Traitor Curse update. Very obvious that it is abandoned for hyper inflated reskins now.

Also yes it’s nice we got the free updates but there’s far less scummy ways to monetize games than the BS FS has going.

i mean, “only make cosmetics for additional sales don’t put any game mechanics behind DLC” is pretty much the least scummy way to do it. the problem isn’t the methods its their pricing isn’t in touch with reality.

FOMO rotation, no coloring your own skins, all of the free stuff is incredibly barebones and practically non existent (wow you can get a red or a blue weapon thanks Fatshark). On top of the abysmal pricing.

The idea behind it is good, but literally everything done around it is horrible and scummy.

Jury is still out on this, I believe they only said free maps. Based on how this store is run I feel we are 100% going to be paying for weapons and classes/archetypes (whether an additional tree added on to a pre existing archtype or a whole new one).

I don’t disagree with the point you’re trying to make, but numbers wise, the steam concurrent user count is NOT the same thing as unique daily user’s. You can have many times that number of different players logging in over the course of the day. If the average playtime per session was 2-hours, 10,000 concurrent players could be like 120,000 different players over a 24-hour period. Steam doesn’t release the unique number of players. When you scale out to a week, given your average player probably isn’t playing every single day, it could be an other few times that amount.

Which is all to say that active player count, as in, people who have played the game in say the last week, is much much higher than 10,000 or so.

Tencent is known to have a hands off approach when it comes to stuff like that.

The problem is people in power trying to suck up to tencent by implementing stuff that nobody wants. How that turned out in the long run and on a big scale can be seen with blizzard.

What? No they the hell aren’t. they’re known to lie about it to people’s faces until they’re caught making demands.

Do elaborate then please.

I dont know everything but the few cases that I know of, such as Warframe(Digital Extremes), Path of Exile(Griding Gear Games) and Baldurs Gate 3(Larian Studios) to name a few, didnt change a bit since Tencent aquired shares of them.

Just don’t buy the overpriced garbage they’re selling. Even some Whales that buy just about anything that is shoveled in their direction will have a realization that the skins are low quality and overpriced.

Enough people stop buying to the point their profits start going down instead of up and they’ll either have to put effort into what they’re selling (no more lazy reskins) or lower the price or do a bit of both options, basic supply and demand. If there’s no demand for the lazy expensive reskins then there’s no money.

That being said I much prefer the skins only monetization model over the alternative of selling gameplay expansions and skins.

An example of skins done right is Deep Rock Galactic. It’s one of the few games I can think of that sells skins at a reasonable price and good quality/quantity. It’s also one of the few games I ever bought skins for, mostly to support the devs, not really for the skins themselves (although the skins are nice and I do wear them on some builds).

But anyway, hopefully FS does something about this problem of the skins being poorly made, reskins and too expensive. Lower the price below that of average indie games and increase the quality and I might just buy a few skins, but until then it’s no bueno.

That’s fair, but then again, it said it yourself, 99% of players have left the game, and FS till needs to make money. So the price decrease is not happening unless they can attract more players to the game, which will require fixing the fundamental flaws of the game. Like the damn locks and stupid gacha rng layers.

The what now? This ain’t a problem. Or at least not a big one. This is not why people leave the game, and honestly, after leveling 4 different characters, the last of which was after patch 13, I can’t agree that there are any issues with leveling. If I was to point out an issue during the leveling process, it would be a meager amount of rewards granted via the emperor’s gifts. Simply because it’d be awesome to show a new player lots of different weapons and blessings available for their class and let them find their favorite ones before they hit level 30.

This one I agree with. It’d be nice to get news more frequently. They tried to post news once every other week, but that didn’t work very well. These posts simply didn’t contain much news.

I guess they can’t just tell us “hey guys, check it out, we are currently working on this new thing, but we don’t know yet whether it will hit the live servers, but anyway, what do you think?”

I say point 2 is an issue due to the fact that as seen there average play time is 92.8 Hours. so that would indicated ethier A people playing alot of one character your more characters ie they are level 30 unless they are deleting them and releveling. which isn’t always likely.
so this leaves new player who are basically playing with other new player with little too no way to reach and actually grab experienced players it something that can kill the community, it was a big benefit for V2’s community as it means people with k’s of Hours would play with people who have none. knowledge is past on. in this game it doesn’t happen till like level 26 or you are buddying up with mates who have played this game for hundread of hours. while it not a major issue it still an issue that leads to people switching off from the game. the emperor’s gift isn’t that bad, i typicallly break it or sell it, but on lower level it typically something to break up the barrier of Damage. having levelled up 9 Character before the skill tree patch it was painful, (18 all 4 during the Tech test and 4 during the first Closed bet Total), and the level between 15-26 were kind of lonely as you rarely ever had anyone doing Malice or Heresy.
