I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I find it so incredibly strange that fs made efforts in response to people’s dismay about loading times into the vt2 hub (the keep) to bring it as low as possible, but for some reason decided to go in the actual complete opposite direction and make it so their new hub takes orders of magnitude more time to load into. It goes into the same design direction that crafting did, where they took everybody complaints and leaned so far into them that they’ve phased into an entirely new dimension of “why the f does this need to take so long for so little benefit?”

The Mourningstar feels useless in it’s current state. It should and could be a great community hub but FS needs to put in some work.
I don’t think it’s as important as the crafting/itemisation stuff but the uselessness of the mourningstar is a thorn in my eye from the start.

Arguing semantics I’m not sure I would call it a memorial over something like an idea board. Crafting has been a consistent, large, and ignored problem since day 1. While more social aspects in the Mourningstar would be greatly appreciated, it’s not an essential part of the game like weapon acquisition is.
You should probably do what @brosgw did on the original post, and have it be the weird in post scroll so it doesn’t eventually become clogged up and reach the post character limit. I don’t know how it would work so you would have to ask him.
Anyways the thing I want the most is that a pre-mission lobby would be an actual place to walk around in the hangar bay. The mission start countdown wouldn’t start until 1 or 2 people readied up, and you could also change your class if necessary.
Could throw some fun mini games in there to do while waiting. This would let players coordinate runs better, see what penances people are trying to do, and would provide an easier way to form bonds with people in your strike team rather than that only being able to be done in mission.
I don’t know if that would count as something related to the Mourningstar per se, but it is the social aspect I would like to see the most.
In game clans would be neat. Especially if there was a special meeting hall for your clan that you could level up etc.

I agree. I don’t think anyone has left the game citing it was the Mourningstar that was the last straw unlike crafting where there are many of those posts/threads/reviews.
Not to say that the Mourningstar’s design didn’t contribute to that leaving, but it’s more of a dull ache compared to crafting’s repeated sharp pain.

Of course. I ultimately chose to style it after the Crafting Memorial so that it would have a familiar layout for readers and… well, I’ve always wanted my own Wall of Martyrs. I’m currently adding little decorations in here and there to spice things up, a generalised set of ground rules and a more in-depth Wall of Martyrs like @brosgw uses.
Yeah, that’s still cooking! (I have a section telling people what isn’t quite finished yet and it’s called “I’m still cooking”, aren’t I clever? 
)
