Agree…
And I say it, you can with the current system.
The problem is the time needed to get it.
If you could get lot of good grey weapons and have more plasteel, you would be able to craft lot of blue weapons and sell the ones that have bad blessings you absolutely don’t want.
How many time I tried to push to an orange wepon just cause it was a pain to get a correct one from the Brunt’s armoury?
As I said… cause I think that what you ask won’t happen.
And cause also, that the locks don’t forbid to get the weapons we need.
I have axes with thrust/thunderous, BM + headtaker, BM + thunderous, BM + decimator, decimator + headtaker… that’s exactly what I wanted to test.
As shotgun, I have one with man stopper / scatteshot, one other with no respite / fire frenzy, one with no respite and full bore…
Problem is not getting these weapons… problem is, again, the time needed to get them.
If we can get easily good weapons and are able to craft lot of them, the locks can remain. This is not a problem.
But, the choices they made lead to a game that excludes seriously the casual gamer and that involves too much time spent on this game to get one good weapon.
And yes… I would have loved an entire different system… without even blessings and perks, something I think is totally stupid as system.
But I like the gameplay of darktide, and I just want playing.
And so, I can also understand that someone is upset to not being able to get one correct weapon.
Untrue. Look at force swords with 12 different blessings. I can’t get what I want in terms of blessing types even if sub par with mod score and mod distribution I want.
On this I agree… there are several weapons that have lot of blessings…
BUT, there are also several blessings that need to be, or removed, or fixed.
At least, for force swords, the blessing are somewhat useful… Even if, in my opinion, several should not be there in the pool cause they apply more for normal sword than for a force sword (executor, uncanny strike etc).
The recent nerfs made me think a few things. I’m wasn’t exactly a vet player.
Is Power Sword meant to run power cycler?
If yes than the blessing system lockouts make very little sense even including my initial grievance as the choice is taken from you.
If no then weapon performance across the board for most weapons simply doesn’t make sense if all weapon and blessing combinations are meant to be equally viable.
Agreed, the strain on resources to get a decent weapon is CRAZY in this game. First you have too buy like five variants of the gun you want too get good base stats on it, then you have too pray to the emperor himself you get the right perks and blessings!
yes… indeed
the word perfect for an RNG system is… insane
For me a perfect system would have been a system where you decide what you put on your weapon… blessing, perk, accessories and… modifiers.
You would have points relative to the level of crafting (grey to orange) and you would have to choose the weakness and the strength of the weapon.
That would have been perfect.
But what I describe is a perfectly acceptable RNG system
For what its worth Darktide at various points described and promised such a highly desirably and customizable determinant system. Instead we get the 72 layer burrito of RNG.
In class based games, I pretty much never exclusively “main” 1 class. I’ll have one that is my favorite or that I’ll feel I’m the best as, and one thay I feel I’m the worst as, but if I enjoy them I like to vary my playstyle between classes. DRG, Overwatch, Destiny, R6 (when I actually played them) are all examples of this.
The reason I brought this up is that this type of play is very heavily discourged in DT, and not only just by resource siloing (although that is a big part of it). I can play a day as Zealot, and use all my dockets and plassteel and just get dumped on. I want to try get a new weapon or roll to try out, but I don’t want to grind the same class for several days in a row especially if there isn’t a gurantee that I’ll eventually get what I want. Overall its very disheartening and makes me want to end play sessions earlier than I would for other games.
