I have tried making 10 new weapons this week

I even tried fiddling with the new chainaxe, twice… I had to either earn blessing… yay, or just sell them all. This crafting system genuinely feels bad, like I can’t even just reroll the entire weapon, I just have to sell it and try again. This is genuinely an insanely demoralizing aspect to this game.

Yeah it is. I’m sitting on about 800k dockets and 20k plasteel atm and I’m not looking forward to trying to find a good knife / revolver / shovel.

It’s really frustrating that the game is the most fun when you’re able to forget or ignore that crafting exists. Every time I get excited to try out a weapon I’ve overlooked, or new ones come out, that feeling of dread and hopelessness rears it’s ugly head again.

Nothing more fun than throwing cash down a garbage chute.

“strategic decisions and goals” /s as Fatshark once promised… Nothing better than throwing hard earned stuff from playing the game only to get middle fingle from developers.

10/10 design, would not buy again.

I’ve stopped wanting to play because of them adding even more stuff on top of the things I was already struggling to get blessings for. Opposite of their intention, surely.

What do you mean? I love having the entire tier 4 blessing library as a reward for my long term playing but not being able to upgrade them if they are lower tier, or change them because I had to reroll 8% poxwalker damage and 1.25 stamina into something useful.

Seems like you got… #locked - :sunglasses: YEAH

I’ve thought about different ways to bandaid the existing system, but currently I’m leaning towards some sort of currency option to “reset” a weapon/unconsecrate it back to gray. Like any currency, if you know what I mean.

Gambling away lots of resources isn’t great, but selling an extremely rare weapon with base stats you really like because its perks/blessings are bad is the worst. IMO, there just shouldn’t be a way to irreversibly ruin a weapon.

I mean people are basically sitting on a ton of Diamantine at something insane like a 10 to 1 ratio because the crafting values are borked and it’s barely used as a resource.

Honestly I’m just really burnt out on running the hamster wheel. I want to enjoy the new update but this crafting system is a waste of my time.

Yeah it costs about 1500 Plasteel to get from Grey to Gold and only 400 Diamantine so everyone is sitting on it cus you can make that Diamantine in like 2 runs but it takes 4+ runs to make 1500 Plasteel depending on what difficulty you play.

That’s gonna be the only comment Fatshark reads and is just gonna double the diamantine costs. Problem solved, studio closed.

“Hey Fat shark, can we have a use for diamantine like trading down to plassteel or re-rolling the blessings / perks on a weapon or removing the locks on it”

FS: “Sure thing” Tripples the diamantine cost for crafting

The worst part is that i could ACTUALLY see them doing that.

Well yeah they literally already did it, we complained about how there was basically no diamantine on missions even at T4+, so they basically over double buffed the diamantine drops and then quadrupled the plasteel costs.

Funny 10 second ideas that’d improve crafting:

  • Allow diamantine spending to reroll base stat distribution. Got a 380 with penetration as a dump stat? No worries, just press the slot machine to reroll (you’re used to it anyway)
  • Allow diamantine spending to revert a weapon to white. Now you can reengage with the slot machine system, hoping for a different income
  • Allow diamantine spending to slowly improve a weapons base level up to 380.

There, 3 throwaway ideas that even keep in line with their brain damaged slot machine design philosophy. And even those trash ideas would massively improve the current state.

At least I wouldn’t have to waste millions of dockets getting a good base. It’d still be a viable option once you run out of diamantine. Perfectly (rng)balanced as it should be.

Oh all this has also been thrown out before but they just don’t want to do it.

Like we have spent the better part of 2-3 months on release pointing out how the crafting system sucks and they have had like a year to work on it.

I’m convinced they know it sucks but someone at the office will throw a hissy fit if it gets changed.

I’ve been saying this since the release of it in december. They’re the most stubborn fools out there honestly.

Keep trying… in 200 hours more of gameplay you might possibly get a tier 4 blessing you want

I really don’t get it - can a dev just explain why they want to force us into such an awful system? What is their reasoning?

Okay, maybe you don’t want us to be able to easily get the “Best” weapons. Can you let us get a good one?

What ideas are you kicking around for fixing this? Can you communicate with your players who just want to enjoy your game?

“Spin the slots harder”

God I hate how that’s actual “advice” for this game.
