The Crafting Memorial; lest we forget

I want to know if something special happens if this thread reaches 1000 replies. Perhaps the thread title will turn into red/veteran rarity colour.

Would our thread guardian’s request be granted for the commitment…or perhaps a prize.

Most likely Hadron gives the thread an extra blessing, which ends up being a level 1, revolver crit chance on melee kill.

Don’t give them any ideas…

I’d be shocked if FS didn’t already float this idea internally…

I just thought of something. Now hear me out

Going back to this again I know!

If players do not engage in forums/reddit/etc community you’re not going to get feedback.

Even if feedback was requested in game and provided rewards for feedback to motivate responses i.e. dockets, very minimal impact. The amount of information would be too much to process across few thousand users unless if it was simple poll. There was a poll of over 600 responses which gave indication on forum. 600 out of thousands I felt is a good sample, which indicated complete unlock, unlocks/upgrading stats using materials and/or introducing red weapons that did not have that restriction.

But at end of the day appeciate it is the numbers which speaks volumes when it comes to justifications on the table.

Complete unlock is a BIG change. A change you cannot revert if implemented permanently as you’ll know what response would be like.

I suggest a temporary trial. Announce a planned week/weekend for all crafting to be unlocked temporarily, then see the steam numbers change over that period. I don’t know if possible to get stats from gamepass or not, but I’m sure Microsoft has a way if requested from them as a partner.

This way expectation is that it is not promised as permanent. The numbers will show.

The question remains is it the case that crafting locks was designed to not let players reach end game too quickly otherwise they will get bored and no longer feel progression. Can’t predict human behaviour in future. But I can tell they’ll play more now in the present if this happened.

Future relies on making diversity of builds easier and also introduce weapons/maps/blessings at later date over months, so there is no end game meta build or best, but simply different ways to approach over time as ongoing process, but the present is focus. The future can come later.

I have done what I can to fight back the character limit… but it seems we’re on borrowed time. Save this ravaged thread Fatshark. Let no more souls be claimed, save us!

That will be the (seemingly sooner than expected) day…

When the crafting memorial grows too massive for a single thread but crafting remains unchanged.

You had an entire year after release and around 420 individual voices to listen to and couldn’t do what’s right…

Just make a pastebin to contain any new additions to the list and link it in the OP.

Didn’t know about this. But yes… this works :stuck_out_tongue:

In celebration of this thread being alive longer than I am in human years, how would a snake wear pants in 40k setting?

WHAT! You don’t know about pastabins? /vg/ groups have been using it for decades to store information for people. I also used to use it to dump some code when I was into coding websites.

Thread’s too long? Well, damn, I’m afraid of posting now… might be the last post in it…

We need to keep the post spam up. The 1000 replies mark will be legendary milestone for @brosgw might even get a prize!

In a few years time when DT’s time has past. The memorial and my own memory foremost will be thread OP and the effort.

Actually I think momentum slowed down because of other threads. There is a one about PC crossplay gathering replies in regards to controller players and also the Aquilas demand one which might over take in response numbers. So looks like there is more focus on those on forum at the moment.

You got me there for a while. I started to think about DT relevance…

I really do hope they actually overhaul the entire item system. It’s the most demoralizing system and I forgot how awful it was until I started playing the game again. I’m trying to make it work but right now Playing Sky: Children of the Light feels like less of a waste of time.

It would propably mutate and put it on 2 or more brand new legs! I really miss “beast of 1000 …” Mutation in 4th Warhammer edition.

Yeah, going to almost any other game feels like a weight taken off you because you don’t notice the weight of something like a bad system in a game hampering you until its gone.

Of all the co-op games I’ve played nothing, not even Borderlands have had such an unsatisfying, soul-sucking item system.

Deep Rock Galactic is mostly deterministic until overclocks, but has diminishing pool (can’t roll dupes).
Magicka and L4D doesn’t have itemisation.
B4B has rotating packs but the packs are set.
Helldivers, totally deterministic, maps have a minimum number of research points.
EDF showers you with loot.
Killing Floor 2 has DLC weapons but no non-cosmetic RNG.
Aliens: Fireteam Elite has only a small % of non-card items gated by RNG, set stats for weapons and accessories.
Monster Hunter has fights where what you damage on a monster can increase the chance of certain loot.
Remnant: From the Ashes and its sequel have set items but random events, but has tools in place to help with rerolling acquisition conditions.

Even RNG heavy games like most ARPGs or Monster Hunter with it’s Desire Sensor™ doesn’t feel as bad as Darktide’s system does because most of those give you significantly more agency to influence the RNG.

Darktide still gives me the same feeling as playing Black Desert Online or Lost Ark, okay to decent gameplay, soulcrushing RNG systems.

Ok, as someone with 1000 hours in mhw, you are right
BUT you are ignore plates, gems, special drops that still have as low as 1 percent drop rate

In fairness, you are leaving out that there are several ways to increase this drop chance to as high as 16% if not outright trading for them or guaranteeing them to drop

Just want to emphasis on this succinct point: as someone who has been playing Warframe since Closed Beta (proofs below); I quit the game precisely because of how grindy it’s become over the years. What made me quit was the discouraging riven system, which was the biggest mistake DE ever created for Warframe - not only did it break the game with its ridiculous power creep but it also added an unfun lottery system. These days I don’t play the game anymore, so I don’t know if Rivens are even still a thing or just another discarded forgotten relic thrown to decay as any other feature DE develops for the game.

Used to play Warframe so religiously; but I kept taking so many year long breaks because of how exhausted I’d get from the game.
