The Crafting Memorial; lest we forget

Never said people disliking the crafting system bothered me. I did say that the manner in which it’s being delivered (toxicity @ devs) does, but that’s irrelevant. Does it bother you that I disagree?

Depending on who you ask but roughly, games that are fantastic have around 85% positive reviews or more, some have higher bars some have lower, but the lowest i heard for an initial judgement call is 80%…

Most of my steam friends don’t give games with less than 70% the time of day, sure people have “guilty pleasures” but that’s rare,

would be interesting to why that is, in terms of group psychology

 ain’t playing the “bogged down in nonsense” game with you

The only nonsense I get bogged down with is the nonsense that people throw at me and I try to respond in good faith. If I get in nonsense, perhaps people should focus better on the topic at hand. I have a horrid habit of trying to acknowledge each point and talk about it. This leaves me ripe for being exploited in red herrings and moving goalposts, which has been done here today.

You don’t spend this much time and effort unless the existence of people who don’t wholeheartedly love the game you love is a problem to you.

Your entire pattern of behavior, from desperately grasping at straws to invalidate the data, to accusing others of gaslighting you when they present evidence, to briefly heading off to make your own thread when you couldn’t take the criticism in this one, coupled with this:

Yeah, no, I think dissent towards the game you ‘love’ does bother you.

Hope you learn to get over it soon.

Ironically, I wrote that at launch. A bit dated, heh.

Still: Just because you can’t understand why I would want to do something, doesn’t mean that it’s impossible. I do not have to conform to your definitions or projections as to why I would be interested. You don’t know me and I’m not about to reveal why I would pursue this endeavor because it’s far more personal than you realize and has nothing to do with whether or not people like this game.

I’m sorry you feel this way.

EDIT: Here’s how the story ends, I took breaks, I didn’t dedicate myself to it until it dies. In fact, after January I took a hiatus. I’ve always wanted to be one of those guys that sticks to one game, but I just can’t do it. But I do find myself coming back to this one quite often. Edit 2: This game had more hours than any other game on my steam profile in the past year alone.

This went from

You don’t have data
to
Your data is outdated

:joy:

Of course people might stop complaining for the most part when all of the critics have been given over a span of months and the critiqued person or in this case FS doesn’t reply or work on any of these critique points. People just get exhausted and lose the illusion that FS actually cares for their customers.
And of course the remaining playerbase likes the gameplay more than it hates the itemisation/crafting… otherwise they wouldn’t be playing anymore. So of course the current reviews are more positive.

Just stop arguing with this person.

Damn seems like you were hungry :joy:

Not gonna lie, I like to look at this conversation aswell but most of the arguments (from one side) are just… Well… Interesting.

These are not mutually exclusive. When I say “you don’t have data” I’m saying you don’t have good or solid data.
But it’s easier just to argue semantics over what was said and employ contextomy.

I like how you’re editing your replies to seem less like your brain doesn’t have cute lil wrinkles.

I have to edit them since I have to spell everything out so people can understand since they seem keen to take what I say out of context or misrepresent it.

I need to appeal to the lowest common denominator.

Those rations went down easy :yum:

The first to walk the forum, his name lost in the ban of time, his wrath igniting posts in a hateful flame!

The second came when we were starved for threads and like a famine he came over us, ruining the few posts we had left to harvest!

The third now among us! Seeking to tire us out, the virulent spew he uses to plague our minds and hearts, don’t let the mind rot infect you too!

The fourth seal is beginning to crack, don’t allow this evil into our world, for him on his ashen horse will be the end of us all!

@Cerebrophage
It’s possible you missed this in the avalanche, or I missed your response to it -
Data for you. Thoughts?

My personal suggestion would be to make a monthly poll yourself, spread it around. It’ll help more than what you’re doing now.

Weekend thought of the day

I asked myself Darktide combat is far superior in mechanics of melee, range and power fantasy evasion dodge monkey movements.

Why are people playing HD2 so much when the only evasion is just face plant dive and strafing circles using terrain to slow enemies down, felt like a Ubisoft open world Far Cry game to tick off map checkpoints but in Coop. Just felt more boring in combat engagement.

Then realised it is the HD2 ethics, the communication, response, continuous balancing according to how people play, monthly updates. Persistent in community engagement. “We want to hear your feedback”

There was a Manor Lord review I saw:

“If you’re looking for a complete game then Manor Lords is not it. But if you have strong belief in sole developer’s philosophy and vision then buy it”

Darktide is not a bad game. There are just better games which had more vision. Comes down to having better leaders.

If a person spends a few hours to grab all the top PvE coop games, play them for a bit, grab their ideas, improve upon them to create a better version and distinction. Only great leaders go to that level.

Look at the passion from Paradox dev videos they speak, show their face, they engage and showcase what they’re doing for features all the time. Genuine excitement and very proud. (Yes I know some of their games are rubbish and DLC spam)

If we look behind the game itself and it is their passion that drives your faith to support them.

I saw that’s why people are playing HD2 and even though Manor Lords is barebones I see why people are playing that as well.

Lol Penance UI worked on for months. Would love to know where they got feedback this was more crucial than inventory/crafting UI when one is used much more than the other.

I sincerely think this is true. Every word, I’d say the same.
