Have you considered that openly stating you’re going to do something and then doing the opposite without informing anyone is just lying with extra steps?
This is a solvable problem. Tell people what you’re doing. If what you’re doing changes, tell them again.
Also, seriously? ‘Public riots’? C’mon now.
Have you ever considered that the reason why there are “public riots” is because Fatshark keeps not sharing changes about things they themselves announced?
Hey just wanted to provide another perspective on this and why I think it’s a major, not a minor grudge. As a crusty ole 'tider I can whip up my skill tree for basically any build in the 60 seconds lobby timer. I’m sure many of us here can, hence “minor greivance” and “mild rustling of jimmies”.
However.
For what I assume is the majority of the playerbase, and for my friend I’ve mostly been playing with lately, it’s a huge PITA. They don’t have a lot of time and just want to boot up Darktide and slay for ~30-45 minutes. Imposing the skill tree tax is a solid 15 minutes (5min X 3 classes as a conservative estimate) tax on their valuable time which honestly breaks my heart both times it’s happened this year. And that’s with my crusty a** to guide them through the process, which otherwise would take ~3x the amount of time for them. No mods, just the standard 3-5 builds per class.
For something that seems eminently avoidable (um, not sure what’s going on under the hood but SURELY this is a bug that can be fixed), it’s a colossal waste of time that affects certain people more than others (and perhaps a more vulnerable population than aforementioned crusties), and mood-sapping to boot.
Oh, how many skill tree reworks are there in the future? IDK, but I can tell you that in my opinion this should never happen ever again (just like the first time). So I’d like to keep banging this drum – IMO it’s 100% not an issue that should be ignored.
this year is gonna end and havoc will still be abysmal due to derank and party finder lmao
oh well another year of complaining about havoc i guess
And still getting requests for Solo Mode too.

Depends on playtime, but you should be able to submit a refund request through Fatshark Support. I got a refund because my hours “were on the low end” at 45 hours played which is well past Steam’s 2-hour approval window
@Ragnarok101 do we give credit for FS giving out Premium currency on the event?
Tanner did sort of just prove that hive scum at its best dps doesn’t compare to the other classes
The class is glass cannon without the cannon part where the tanks literally out dps it
But if they were to buff the class to be on the same level as the rest then stimmed desperado hs would be killing bosses in 3 seconds
TLDR balance is a nightmare where veteran THE RANGED CLASS with a allrounder build using exclusively power sword can kill a havoc 40k plague ogyrn in 7 seconds the only things that beat this are dedicated boss killer builds like thammer Martyrdom zealot (yeah that’s without using krak grenades)
Balance as a whole needs a complete overhaul at this point the outliers from awful to use to game breaking and the recent scav buff to try and compensate for our insane power creep has just become a complete nightmare where adding a glass cannon class is impossible without making things even worse because the current roster are all glass cannons without the glass
I will do so if the next event has Premium currency, or they otherwise state/indicate it’s going to be a standard reward going forward. Currently I’m side-eyeing it bc they could easily justify it as ‘oh this is only for Fatshark Anniversary’ the same way they did with Skulls and not continue the practice. I consider the lack of 500-Aquila weapon skins a positive sign though
So, what’s the verdict on hive Scum at the moment? Balanced enough? People not failing miserably to dodge a la psyker?
I like it. Feels similar to when I played knife zealot. I think it has a lot of ways of staying alive. Just very punishing if you mess up big. As squishy as a psyker but “easier” ways to restore toughness front lining than peril generation and quelling. Issue is you have to engage most of the time to get it back. I am fine with where it is class per class. Some weapons can be balanced more and key stones and talents. Everyone seems to love chemical dependency and sample collector for example, should maybe change that one or make the other talents/keystones more tempting.
In my recent games, which have been tough for me and usually end in mission failure, the last player standing has most often been Scum. Sometimes he even tried to clutch, but ultimately failed to pull it off. The second most resilient is Zealot
gameplay wise its currently my favorite class and that says a lot after almost 2000 hours of mainly playing ogryn.
both ranged and melee give enough room for variations, besides after the safety wheel that was arbites finally a class that requires a good player to get proper results ![]()
Much lower lows than the other classes and harder to reach and lower highs than the other classes. Everything is harder on Scum and the payoff is not that great, the only thing keeping the class somewhat relevant in Auric and Havoc are the insanely strong blitz and the ammo economy. Everything I do with the Scum I can also do it with the other classes but better and without having to worry about my ability running off or not having my stim ready. I think the class would be much better without all the arbitrary restrictions on the abilities because right now it’s only equal to the other classes when you have your class ability on and when it’s not on you just die from the carapace spam or the millions of gunners (obviously without accounting for the bug that turns you into a ghost when you dodge)
For my part, at 30 its a lot of fun, definitely not as easy or forgiving as the Arbites, the leveling experience (as released, before they swapped some talents) sucked hard and wasn’t very fun, similarly to pre-patch 13 Psyker, but once you’re at 30 the Hive Scum is pretty rad.
