definitely this. i like this gameplay that demands agility and knowledge how not to get boxed in. it’s amusing how negatively this class was seen as “low effort” on release by some vs how fun it actually is to play. less twitchy players are imo better with a more forgiving class.
It’s kind of funny actually. I’m going back & forth between Scum & Zealot. You can definitely feel the speed/agility difference, it’s crazy. Even Zealot feels sluggish when I switch back to him, & that’s not to hate on Zealot at all. It’s just pretty wild to me. I’m like, no way Zealot is this slow. It’s just totally screwing with my head. It was just kind of bizarre knowing Zealot used to be the speedy one. Still a great class, but yeah, man, you can feel it for sure.
indeed, zealot needs a knife to even keep up. on the other hand, he has lots of tdr and can take more. ogryn feels like driving a truck when switching from scum.
when playing with @Index we had much better results playing as different classes, 1 scum and 1 tankier guy, because scums deal a lot of damage but have little staying power if one is in trouble, plus we don’t compete for the grenades.
anyway, there’s one bug where is suspect one of the 3 “guaranteed activation” mods being the culprit. scum without cartel special, just normal stims, works great. but when i take the special, switching weapons and even stabbing/ shooting becomes severly laggy over time, to the point that the guys runs around 1-2 seconds with his knives raised. possibly because the cartel mix can also change weapon swap speed. just in case someone uses these too and noticed that.
I think I know what you mean, I’ve been having the same issues… I disabled those mods to test it out again & it seemed to fix it actually. I sent a few messages to some of the modders for those mods about this, but I haven’t heard anything back yet. So, it’s not just you for sure. I’m not exactly sure which one it is exactly. I’ll have to do trail by error & tick off which isn’t the issue until I get to it eventually. I’ve just been kind of lazy lately to even do it.
yes, exactly this. glad to hear that i’m not the only one with the issue, and i’m trying to play, not troubleshoot things.
and why not simply disable the guaranteed mods… because if you’re used with swaps and activations always working, and then you disable them and the game executes inputs when it sees fit.
Those mods are pretty important for sure. I mean, even in an animation, it still guarantees your ULT’s & all that noise, it’s pretty important, IMO. Just like switching your weapon swap mod. I’ll have to really work on that another time. Shouldn’t be too hard to figure out with the process of elimination.
Hive Scum is probably the best class in the game right now. Having a Power sword focus target vet hitting an afk plague ogryn in the psykhanium being your main point is peak delusion.
The game’s code seems to be degrading more and more with the passage of time. I’ve experienced all of these in the past few days.

I’m sure its mentioned in these 1600+ posts but should not lack of built in scoreboard be part of this grudge?
- Though controversial, it has been one my biggest hangups and reoccurring posts in steam forums in particular since launch. While mods work around this issue our less up to date players & console brothers lack this option.
- then while I’m here… my 2nd grudge i care less about, but also often reoccurring discussions. Character Model Cosmetics, seems to be a big barrier for female gamers only diverse in imperfections..?
- Let us Paint cosmetics within reason =)

Yeah, getting scoreboard to work again was one of my top priorities when I came back. I really wish they’d update the mod, but I understand mods getting abandoned over time. It would be nice to see it just implement into the base game. It would be one less mod to keep up on.
EDIT: just leave the scoreboard off by default and let the sweats like me turn it on, everyone is happy.

Fair, some of our grudges may be irrational… but Darktide is missing something and its FATSHARKS FAULT 
Can i hold the Hive Scum launch trailer as a grudge? It was the biggest let down, actual class plays better but the trailer just hurts me inside.
I’m about 90% sure some jackass went BUT WE CAN’T SHOW DRUG USE IN OUR ULTRAVIOLENCE GAME forcing a sloppy recut…hm.
Lemme think about it.
I remember speaking to a Playtester friend of mine in DMs and they didn’t seem to think so. They can only tell me so much without violating their NDAs, however.
Their hypothesis was that the original scrapped trailer was actually made not long after Arbitrator dropped, and the Hive Scum had changed so much as a Class since then that the original scrapped trailer just wasn’t portraying them correctly. And Fatshark made the necessitated new trailer at the last minute because… I really don’t know. Incompetence? Not enough time? Lack of comms between the relevant departments?
But for one reason or another, Fatshark ended up having to make a new trailer at the last minute and we got… that. F*ck me dead, that was such a bad trailer. Like, it REALLY fuelled the flames for the whole “wahhh Hive Scum is boring wahhh” crowd.
Well from a different side of things. It does actually make sense that they would need to cut drug use out of a trailer.
The point of a trailer is to… Well be a trailer, post it place it, use it as advertising etc. Certain areas have various and rather strict restrictions that could have a trailer with drug use get blocked in those regions, kind of negating the point of having a trailer in the first place. (Germany is probably the biggest offender here).
So if this is true I would get angry at Germany not fatshark.
I still see people being angry about the game getting censored in Germany and stuff. But like, how is that fatshark’s fault? Blame the government lol.
