The Book of Grudges: Because Fatshark Won't Listen

Y’know what, there is now. F*ck it, it’s something worth putting down as ‘this mildly rustles my jimmies’.

Well no one forced you to read the thread, just be like FS and not read anything!

Ignored jank by FS maybe?

The Great Complaining is not limited to this thread. I went here to say this, because this is the main lair of your Complaining Representative.

To be extremely charitable, maybe they’re testing out stuff on a platform that’s relatively-inoffensive like the Scum. But just going over the weapon writeups they have:

A melee weapon with a ranged special.
A weapon with a blessing-equivalent baked into the weapon itself
A power weapon analogue that has a unique effect on both modes, rather than simply having one mode be better in almost all regards than the other.

It does feel like that they have taken note of player wishes, but slapped them behind a paywall and an uninspired coat of paint.

Well hell, looks like I may have to eat crow, because there’s people whining that Hive Scum is actually too weak, because it’s fragile despite its dps.

@SymboJones you may be correct, some people are incapable of learning ‘press button when you hear this sound’ and get bodied bc of it.

I know what you mean. That ammo regen for elites. That was straight suggestion multiple times on a old thread about Vet.

It was something like Vets should be rewarded for elite kills with ammo, not trash mobs so it matches playstyle of role in sniping target priority. Something like that was on there.

Ammo regen then given to a new class.

I mean count the toughness regain from melee nodes Arbites/Ogryn has. 6-7.

Hive has 1. Stims in short bursts for toughness regeneration, not as consistent. So I kind of knew they decided glass cannon approach before it released. It was shown as fast DoT AOE and not front line hold for team class.

I think people expected a melee class that can dive into armour packs

I heard the stim granted toughness regen only currently enhances coherency toughness regen.

Yup. Class designed to be moving around and a lot of time away from team though.

Honestly, it is absurd how terrible the vast majority of the playerbase is when it comes to the fundamentals, and it’s why I highlighted the defensive talents available to knife zealots specifically during that conversation we had; these folks are either genuinely unable to (or simply just refuse to) learn the basics to a standard sufficient enough for higher difficulties - without egregiously stacking defensive passives, they crumble.

Slight tangent, but that’s what worries me so much about the ol’ Scummers now; that kind of player effectively ruined Psyker imo, “I can’t do anything”, “I have no defense”, “Too much effort for being so squishy”, “Needs buffs”, etc., etc., etc.

“Whinge, Whinge, Whinge”- Sgt. Major Vin Morrow, 41st (or well, 42nd) Millennium

I just hope against all hope that FS ignores the outcry over “squishiness” as much as possible and doesn’t fold this time.

Imagine having such a jaded, unquestioning pro-corporate worldview that you view service feedback as whining

Imagine not being able to install 3 mods and cry about solo mode for 3 years non stop

Edit: i haven’t used word “whining" so far, so it’s good to see you’re self aware.

What’s funny is that your edit followed you using the word “cry”, proving it is in fact what you were thinking, but I’m happy you could feel smart for a split second.

Also funny that you’re so concerned with what is a healthy and non-toxic community but you’re right now taking a dump on all console players. Seems to me like the only sort of “toxicity” you worry about is legitimate complaints aimed at Fatshark. There’s a word for that I think.

I mean, you call me unquestioning and pro-corporate just because I dared to post an unpopular opinion on your circlejerk thread, it’s only proper to describe you back.

If you want my attention so much, I will tell you what I don’t like about your attitude.

First of all, I am criticizing Fatshark’s decisions on a regular basis. I’m mostly interested in balance discussion and whenever I take a moment to properly describe my opinions I make sure to make it an actually constructive criticism. See the examples below:

https://forums.fatsharkgames.com/t/dueling-sword-should-be-nerfed-and-here-is-why-long-discussion-post/101067/232

https://forums.fatsharkgames.com/t/duelling-sword-should-be-nerfed-1-year-anniversary-post/114268/27

In these two posts I described a problem, took time to explain why it’s affecting players, why it makes Darktide a worse product and then gave a proposal on how I believe this can be fixed.

While I do this, I also acknowledge that developers do this professionally, and if the game ends up in a state that doesn’t fit my proposition (DS is not nerfed), then it must have been caused by something, and if my suspicions are true, they won’t share it with us.

Also, I work full time in a corporate environment and I know how corporate financial decisions are made. Fatshark is an independent developer, but they must satisfy their shareholders. This doesn’t mean they are greedy or don’t love their game, it means that they simply can’t do stuff the way DRG does.

Going under every post added by a CM and typing ‘gib aquillas pls’ is not constructive criticism. Holding onto design decisions that could, or could not be considered during early beta is against common sense. Why? Please google ‘iterative game development’.

Also, I want to emphasize on how the recent aquilla as event reward was acknowledged. There were some posts that were genuinely happy on the forum, but ppl from this threat were like:

this is less bad than it used to be

And once you are on the receiving end of criticism, you clearly can’t take it, which is funny considering this topic has 1600+ posts of it.

These were stated in interviews and then dropped without explanation. Again, a sentence or two from a CM would be enough to address the things I’ve got posted up there. People want to know what happened to the stuff they were told was coming.

Hey, if you’re going to quote me, at least include the full quote:

Y’know, me setting the lowest bar possible because that would be the bare minimum improvement if nothing else about the shop changed. Because we don’t know if this is going to be consistent, if the rewards will continue to be the same size, how often they’ll be offered, anything. You take cautious optimism and decide it’s me hating on Fatshark, and have to quote it out of context to try and twist it into something it’s not.

But hey, if you want to pick fights, by all means.

Have you ever considered that they don’t want to share anything anymore because if they ever change their vision in the meantime someone is going to use their quote to start public riots?

Weirdly enough I remember this exchange as you “calling out complainers” and me calling you unquesitoning and pro-corporate in response (which a post talking about DS balance doesn’t really disprove), so that doesn’t really check out. But whatever it takes to justify whatever it is you’re trying to do, huh?

Just consider yourself lucky your threads discussing DS balance don’t have people like you in them, calling you a whiner

Lmao, I only get this sort of replies on reddit xdd

I’m not surprised that you’re also behaving this obnoxiously on reddit! Kind of had an inkling you’d post there
