Spending 500K on brunt

Solution for “perfect weapons”:
Use “Buy Until rarity”, dump 2m credits, get about 10 375+ base rating weapons
Upgrade them and pray that you get 2 out 4 blessings/perks you want.

Many millions in, I’ve statued for “beyond decent”

Because lets face it, if that 1% damage increase saves my games, I wasn’t good enough to start with.
(although it’d be nice to switch around the +25% damage versus :joy: because those ain’t 1% dmg)

Great post and well said.

Brunt’s should only give 350+ weapons, or at least scale in some way with internal time played or total gold spent.

I’ve spoken with several players who regularly grind and buy from Brunt’s. They spend an average of 2.5 million gold to get a decent weapon over 378, then still only have a 25%~ chance to not brick the weapon on upgrading. The system is absurdly punishing for no reason other than time syncing the player base.

You would think the regularly falling player base to 0 would teach Fatshark a lesson on incentivizing players to want to invest time in the time.

At this point in the game I’d say leave brunt as is and just change the hourly shop to daily, all the stuff you would have gotten in 1 big glob (and maybe leave out the really bad rolled stuff, like bottom half) that resets with the Melk daily.

I honestly think you guys are pushing past the endgame. I mean, you are already at 95+% of your potential gear wise, and you must be absolutely loving the game to play so much to even have that much cash to dump on brunt.

I think this is a major issue for min-max collectors in the end, and annoying/stupid for everyone else. I’d love for this to be the biggest problem with the game and have my name added to the crafting memorial, but the audio design choices and bugs alone feel far more experience ruining. The bugs introduced in just the last patch followed by a 2 month hiatus reveals a lack of interest in quickly reacting to bugs. I’ve played 5 matches since the patch and had bugged keybinds with chorus bugged out twice. They are using the Bethesda approach.

I’m not hyper-optimizing for anything, my ‘floor’ is about 360 base rating. The problem is, I can’t actually get blessings I want. Every staff I upgrade? Gives Run N Gun. Every gun seems to spit out some random hyper-specific blessing for salvos.

I would like to take a recon lasgun and try this funny rending+crit build I saw that invalidates its ammo weakness. I can’t, though.

I would like to see what all the fuss is about with the Ogryn shovels, via high-end Brutal Momentum. I can’t, though.

I would like to try out this allegedly OP Surge build on the Voidstrike staff. I can’t, though.

This isn’t ‘pushing past the endgame’. This is me just not being able to do anything because the ‘crafting system’ is a slot machine.

Seems like trolling.

Basically, you want to try X on a weapon. Keeps game fresh.

Sorry, you can’t, cuz RNG and resources.

Devs not listening.

That’s the whole of the problem. We like the game, we used to like the devs, but they have been blockheads on this. I took about 8 months off, so I’ve no where near the resources of the hard core seekers but I have the problem as bad or worse since I’m still building up my blessings locker and I don’t have the stuff to finish building it.

They really think this will keep you coming back, but it drove me out. Sure, I came back eventually, but if I’d stayed in the meanwhile I’d have spent more on their economy and increased the player base.

Heck, I even voted against them in the steam awards and still have a negative on the steam ratings.

Why? I feel mistreated, because my time isn’t respected, even if I do like large sections.

Ahh I see. I guess I did get pretty lucky with most of the blessings I wanted. The other issues actually made me put the game down before the revolver blessings. I just couldn’t get most of them and it is a pretty long list.

I get the point that, issues with the ai director or the ninja specials are different than a progression system that is entirely designed to ignore effort by being fully random. I think the fact that the blessings are barely improvements over one another reveals their motivation.

I pretty much dislike playing the game at this point because of the straight jank, but my buddy just got into it so I’m trying to figure out if they are going to fix anything or just keep flying it directly into the ground. Right now, the zealot is actually buggier than when I started, and their response was to take a vacation.

I’m well over 100 daggers into fishing for Lacerate IV. It’s about a 60% chance for me to get haymaker III.

It’s unbelievable how infuriating it is for me to continually see that blessing.

Welcome #496

#497 welcome as well!

It’s also even worse if you’re the type of person to want to play all characters and try and have a build for every weapon.

Ironically that dropped fairly early on for me (Mar 23 ish?) on a Melk item.
But I’ve been hunting for the Ruthless Backstab t4 blessing for ages. I refuse to “do” the Brunt profane lottery. Once bitten, twice shy on that front.

What else am I going to do? I’ve gotten quite lucky on stuff I don’t want.

Have some 3/4 stuff of every category at the very least if not outright 4/4 though very little with beyond t3 blessings but very useable regardless.

I want to min max my favorite weapons, and I’m unable to.

I’m just amazed at how well the game can detect what I give a crap about.

EDIT: Now that I mention it I- hold on a second * puts on tin foil hat * there we go.

Now that I mention it I wonder if the game uses brunt’s shop to detect what you buy a lot of, and makes t4 blessings have a lower chance to spawn on those weapons you craft.

You know.

To retain the player.

Fatshark doesn’t want us knowing the real numbers behind things. They could tell us. But their lack of silence and transparency makes me feel that things like this seem possible. Someone also mentioned that in their data they collected once a curio already had a T4 perk it was lower each time to roll another T4 perk. Especially if you had 2. So who knows? They could just tell us, show us how it all works and what the odds are. If there wasn’t anything to be afraid of, why not do it? But they don’t, and that’s troublesome.

Remember, senior leadership thinks players having access to data is bad because it encourages metagaming.
