RNG is still EXTREMELY BAD

I thought I had hope, but guess what, 3 million dockets, FIVE 370+ power sword, upgraded all sub 300s to the first blessing, not a single lv4 let alone power cycler, after fiddling around for other weapons I’m now literally broke with nothing left…

So what, I grind for another 3million dockets to get the same results? Let’s do the simple math, one avg damnation session is about 27min excluding hi-intensity (normal+low-intensity) for me, and assuming my win rate is 100% because nowadays it’s almost is but definitely not for the majority of the playerbase, one game can give about 20k dockets, so to get to 3million there has to be another 150 sessions which is in total 4000min=66.7hrs and that’s just session time not counting a human player needs to take a break for crafting, rolling, rerolling, eat, work, sleep.

But even if one can play without resting, can another 10million dockets help?

This is outrageous, at this point I’m hoping there’s PTW option for sale lmao, right now please save any dockets and materials you guys got, make small adjustments only, don’t hunt for t4 blessings and certainly not 375+ greys with desirable stats, because even u got one or two “perfect” ones, that one locked perk and that one locked blessing will f*** you up, yes, t2 perks can appear now, I got both of them on a 379…xD

So until next major adjustment for better item acquiring methods, specifically enabling both perks and blessinngs reroll and bringing back combining blessing, hate to repeat myself, DON’T ATTEMPT TO WASTE YOUR HARD EARNED MATERIALS!

If you’ve never played their previous titles Vermintide 1 and 2, then you should know this is Fatsharks MO. They’re notorious for ridiculous RNG. I’ve been trying to warn people not to get their hopes up for this crafting “fix”, yet here we are.
I once sat in Vermintide 2 for over an hour trying to get the right stats combo on a trinket/ring and ended up giving up. It’s just not worth it and a shady way to keep players online.

I only played about 200hrs of VT2 without being aware of any of the builds or stats, I was an “outsider” player, but I see they didn’t even produce that many premium skins in VT2, so I really don’t get their mentality, VT2 is p2p, so its sorta understandable with the niche nature.

But this time, a live service and a universe and added shooting mechanics that targeting a much much broader market? Why…just why can’t they be more generous this time…

I spent a lot of money trying to get 380 base stat grey weapons and mostly failed to do so. It is not realistically possible to get max stat weapons in this game. VT2 I had no issues with because I had so much crafting material from salvaging anything not orange or red. VT2 crafting was a lot better.

Yep…it’s safe to say it’s still realistically impossible to get anything we truly want, and its very obvious that this update is really rough, like the item sorting is… incomplete at best…also I just wasted 10k plasteel trying to get curios with dockets bonus…to no one’s surprise, another hilariously failed attempt…

The crafting system is still a joke, and basically there to make people like the game less, so the negative reviews will probably not change.

I agree. All we can do is vote with our reviews and playtime.

The system looked incredibly bad when they laid it out, and it is somehow even worse in practice. Emp gifts have been turned into total jokes. Hey we get one for every mission, but guess what, they are always trash. Oh you can now buy the weapon you want - but guess what, the RNG is horrific and you have to spend millions and millions just get a couple items worthy of upgrading.

And to make things even better, even the highest of items can now roll with T2 perks, and the whole spiel about T4/rare blessings being more common? Yeah, FS straight up lied.

Let’s not forget that they also completely tanked the original hourly shop, making sure it will never produce anything you want, since it, at most, rolls T2, and the entire loop is now around spending millions and millions and endless crafting mats to upgrade whatever greys you salvage from Brunt’s emporium of trash.

It’s exactly like I predicted, a system with a tiny bit of lipstick on it to try to trick people into thinking things are better now, but in practice they are doubling and tripling down on truly hateful, malicious, greedy RNG.

If it were up to me I’d start with 2 things from this point.

  1. Change the minimum item level in Brunt’s shop to like 330 or something. 330 is still going to be trash for level 30 players but getting 360+ should have a higher probability.
  2. Remove or drastically change worthless perks/weapon combinations. Every time I get a psyker staff upgraded with +1 stamina and +15% sprinting I want to punch a kitten. There’s “less desirable” and then there’s just trash.

Theyve got rid of the millions of dockets swilling around in the economy though! Objective achieved.

They really should change power cycler to have lower tiers. Making T4s really rare is fine in most cases because the T3 is almost as good. Doesn’t power cycler give you +3 charged attacks? Why not have T3 power cycler give you +2 charged attacks and T2 give you +1? Seems like an easy fix that would keep people from tearing their hair out trying for a specific T4.

I don’t know t4 blessings is overkill, we need one more difficulty tier for them. Chance of t3 blessings is surprisingly high in omnissiah shrine, emperor’s gift and melk’s shop. Brunt’s armory also give weapon with pretty decent stats. During this 2 days i got more desired weapon builds than i recieved in 500 hours before.

Melk’s shop seemingly got better, I already bought my best bolter yet from him but we will have to observe longer to see if it’s actually good now,and the mystery unboxing, anyone dare to try? xD I know I don’t LOL

Melks shop is the light of hope right now.

The rest of the item progression system is still bad. Improving the rate we acquire resources by three times doesnt make the upgrade rng any better. We are just allowed to toss a hundred sided dice three times faster than before.

The number of trash perks, or simply too low ranked ones to matter, is extremely high as are the amount of low rank, or trash blessings. If the acquisition rate of decently base rated weapons was better I wouldn’t rant about it, but getting 360+ weapons is still as painful as kidney stones.

Well definitely blessings on Melks weapons are much better than before. This, plus much faster weekly missions completion, actually got me a near perfect Rumbler in 2 play sessions after this patch landed. I wasn’t even close to that in earlier 60h of Ogryn gameplay. Just food for thought. Not gonna defend the rng, as it is rng, but seems like with the recent changes, there actually is something to play for in terms of loot.

I don’t think you “Need” a 380 with all 4 pip Perks and tier 4 Blessings to even do Damnation.

From my experience, you can easily clear Heresy and decently clear Damnation with weapons between 370 and 380 base, 3 pip Perks and the right Tier 3 blessings. Once you’ve got that, consider your character “ready for end game”, getting the perfect everything is something that’ll happen down the line, but isn’t necessary.

As in, there’s no content in the game that requires “perfect” gear. It’s just a way to keep potentially getting upgrades as you play, unlike VT2 where you capped out your character very early and there was no real way to get stronger past that point.

in one day of the new patch i was able to make both of these

i also made a great deal of weapons that were not 380 but still cleared 500 total points and all have stuff i want. i have made more of these items in this past day/two days than i did in three months+ of play.

We were all saying that this update would have been trash, guess what it’s trash.
After it went live i finally wrote my bad revew.

You say “here we are” as if this was somehow super duper bad or something.

No it isn’t, I see people on Discord posting all sorts of monster weapons. You clearly make this out to be worse than it is, especially with all the resources you will have having played this before the update.
Just not settling for something decent, it has to be 380 god roll in your book. That’s why you don’t find it satisfying.

Exactly what I’m talking about. People are just spoilt for those 380 god rolls.

Do you see all the posts of the not good or useless weapons people got? No? Everything you see being posted is skewed and cherry picked towards the good result. Nobody posts the bad results. Everybody’s going to get results different to everyone else.

How is it spoilt to want something the game in theory can give but not getting it after hundreds and hundreds of hours? You don’t get to say a system is good for everyone based on the experiences of a few. You seem to have a fundamental misunderstanding of RNG.
