Some Thoughts on the Skitarii Power Sword

However, Markus’s Halberd and Spear both have wide sweeping push-attacks. By stacking Stamina through properties and jewelry, you can use push-attacks repeatedly and turn them into a legitimate horde-clearing option.

I would die if Fatshark gave me halberd in darktide

the irony is that you post stuff like this blissfully unaware that translation tools work both ways

I see being called out for your low IQ behaviour has you seething nicely.

I’m sorry your community has to try so hard to win missions. Must be rough.

@Incandescent @eatingsand was evidently correct, you can say what you want on these forums with little consequence apparently as long as you’re not a native english speaker

I have no skin in the game, but it kinda seems like the CN hive mind has settled on less effective tactics that makes things harder for them and they refuse to re-evaluate, so instead they resort to huffing copium and overt racism.

I could be wrong, I’m just a dumb white savage pig racist ogryn troll after all and I should be burned with Willy Pete (white phosphorous), or something.

If anyone with the authority to moderate or lock threads happens to see the flame war in this thread, I’d appreciate it if you wouldn’t lock it.

I’d like this thread to stay active and gain some visibility, because I’m hoping the Fatshark developers might see the feedback and consider making adjustments to the Adeptus Mechanicus Power Sword.

Not the case.

Massive Power Falchion vibes… you get a cool weapon with an intricate moveset, and people assume it’s underpowered instead of having a significant skill curve.

Diagonal horde combo is a drawback for sure, but those STABS .. you can chain 'em, block cancel into 'em, charge 'em, spam 'em, stick 'em in a stew heretic’s eye…!

Also the strikedowns are very strong, and quite satisfying if you can pull off the weave between single target/horde combo in the thick of things. Definitely a weapon you need to spend some time with!

I still prefer Power Falchion myself, but I do GENUINELY appreciate that there’s FINALLY a Power Sword that specialises in single-target Attacks.

I would’ve preferred for there to be multiple Marks of this new Power Sword, giving us the liberty to configure between different Movesets based on what kind of Build you’re going for.

I think nobody can deny that Warhammer 40K appeals more to racists and nationalists than to diversity international lefties, lol

LOL I wonder if they’re ever gonna have their “are we the baddies?” moment.

Tbh with the tendencies i saw lately among reviews for the skitarii… it’s more and more seems that you and other playtesters did a pretty bad job xD

as of this posting there are 69 (nice) negative reviews, 135 positive reviews and most of the negative reviews are unrelated to gameplay and mostly about cosmetics

I feel like its pretty overblown, the cleave on powered attacks is pretty crazy with all their cleave buffs and sunder, even if they look like single target moves its still a power sword. The hitmass buff should be the same for all moves with that state. And the stagger is insane on the special just like vet’s sword, only the weapon is usable at all times (no 50% infested damage or terrible cleave/damage/no armor pierce). Its actually quite swell.

But transonic blades are another crit animal with above average mobility so they’re stealing the spotlight. And clubs try hard (and this one is quite good) but they’re still pretty dull for most players. Pun intended.

So I shouldn’t have to say this but I guess I do have to say this:

Keep any further discussion relevant to the original topic of power sword and keep the race commentary away from this platform.

After having played skittles in havoc some more, I still think the gladius is the odd one out. For a melee focused build, you either need crits or arc to amp your dmg, of which the sword won’t shine at either.

The two biggest offenders are the blessings pool and numbers. The better blessings rely on scoring weakspot kills, for which it doesn’t have the numbers to reliably do so, unless you yolo ahead of your team to chase them green circles.

Averaging 2.4 decap combat stacks on Auric at 50% WS hitrate is not good enough in my book. I didn’t even bother trying it on havoc, opting for chained deathblow and charge refund instead. Can do sunder superiority instead, but replacing lights over heavies with special will result in a better combat flow, in which case sunder does nothing.

Or maybe I just need to stop trying to use correct combos, and just spam L1 L2 on repeat, as the stabs have good dmg.

TLDR: Gladius is the coolest weapon in the game, but needs tad more damage to have better uptime on its weakspot kill related blessings, especially on havoc.
