Precisely because it’s so powerful, I can understand why the developers didn’t want it to become overpowered, so they avoided giving its moveset any horizontal sweeping attacks.
I genuinely understand that. Limiting its horde-clearing potential makes perfect sense.
But… is this moveset for real? Didn’t anyone on Fatshark’s testing team feel that something was off?
I’m completely fine with restricting its crowd-clearing ability, but the attack arc is absurdly narrow—so narrow that sometimes you can be standing face-to-face with an enemy and still somehow miss.
I can accept a moveset that’s entirely vertical strikes. But could you at least adjust the angle of those vertical swings a little?
i like the moveset. feels like one of the vt2 polearms
i feel like fatshark wants to give us polearms but gw doesnt allow it so they make swords with movesets that would be at home on a halberd or 2h spear. i dont mind it, i loved those weps.
if you’re used to the narrow attack cone / arc of the spears and halberd from v2, it’s not an issue, but there’s something off with the range. it’s barely any longer than the combat knife (I tested the VI; the third light attack feels like it has the same range as all the power sword attacks).
Please, Fatshark, whatever you do, do not listen to these people. The Skitarii Power Sword is absolutely perfect. It looks cool, it’s honestly borderline OP, and it works wonders against Crushers. It even handles hordes perfectly fine when uncharged. Personally, I really hope they nerf the special attack.
