So when can we expect weapon attachments like THIS?

This is exactly a system that would please every players…
This is also something pretty close as what I described as my wish…

Same here…
Let’s say it… DT is not COD, a game that I’ve never played. But from what I read, COD seems to have a similar system of sniper elite games…
Building my gun by choosing attachments / weapon parts and that these parts will have an impact on the performances of the weapon is exactly what I would have wanted.
I would say that it could be combined with:

  • a system where you buy a weapon base and can forge it to the max level. The forge would permit to freely attribute points to modifiers.
  • consecration would give points to decide what perks / blessings you want (1 / 2 / none) or you could choose to increase modifiers
  • attachments would impact characteristics of a ranged weapon like:
    • Ammo reserve / ammo clip
    • Mobility
    • Precision
    • Recoil
    • etc.

Same would apply for a melee weapon (but different characteristics would be impacted)
To make the system integrated with resources, I think that they could introduce a decay feature. Your weapon would loose its integrity mission by mission.
A weapon could not break in a mission, however you would have to repair / build an other weapon regularly.

I think that I dream here… but this would be my dreamt DT… no more RNG, just fun.

I don’t think it could cause problem.
You just have to apply the skins on the parts also.
In fact, the skins that are recolor should not be hard to do… a recolor is trully a lazy work.

When? Probably never, or at least not until 1-2 years. FS has already basically said to go pound sand when this has come up before. They seem to be under the delusion that by not having attachments/weapon modifications, it makes the game unique and different.

The reality is that, like the skill trees, they probably don’t have the system complete enough for release. That and/or they are trying to work in some type of RNG system.

People have been asking for this since launch (as it was teased often during production). But since FS takes the mantra of ‘less is more’ when it comes to community communication, its anyone’s guess if we’ll ever get a system like this

its modding but they are unlocking a good deal of what was already their, its really buggy but great work. most of the work seem to be Bug and Crash fixing.

i think this is good and dead, let this rest,
as this quote keeps coming up and even Hedge said this statement doesnt follow now.

people have been asking to play as a chaos marine since launch as well, the length of time people keep asking for something doesn’t make it worth considering.

but i think with their investors overseas, they got backed into having to add some form of gatcha and went with the least disruptive option, the side effect being they’ve had to bake the things like scopes and bayonets into variant guns and they can’t remove that without replacing the whole weapon system on all levels and then they’d have to make something else a randomly dropped option to “drive retention”. not that they’d ever admit to that sort of thing…

You’re making me think there are real possibilities in harnessing butthurt as an alternative energy source.

It would definitely be nice if most of the infantry autogun skins didn’t make the Columnus Mk V look like the Agripinaa Mk I.

You do seem to have expertise in that area. Maybe if you’re enough of an ass to them you can power your pc.

Those are two pretty good takes.

Summary

In all seriousness, I also don’t think what we currently have is the final thing. But it’s what will make do until Darktide 1.5 update comes up next year.

Either I went blind, or those “attachments” are slight.

I’m not sure why you keep describing yourself in these replies. Yeah, you do need to work on your bad attitude if you go around unprovoked calling a good chunk of the community “17 year old meth cyborgs” just because they are slightly better at a video game than you are. It’s like a weird inverse of going around randomly disparaging newbies for being new to a game.

Enjoy your self powered PC.
