At this point you’re trolling, which is fine, a nice troll here and there is fun. However, I want you understand just how upset some of us really are. I think I can speak for everyone when I say most of us did free QA work for Darktide during it’s “beta”. Hell we had to pay to even participate in it. That should show you how passionate some of us Vermintide players are. We raised concerns, wrote feedback, took time out of our days to add to discussions surrounding the game’s problems, and to get slapped with this premium currency shop crap on top of none of our issues that everyone mostly agreed with to not get addressed, is an understatement.
I know it has been found, because it wasn’t in the previous patch, so it doesn’t take a math degree to know that the difference between the two versions is what did it. You don’t need to fix it immediately, you just need to prioritize it over the cash shop.
Me too, exactly what I’ve been trying to explain all this time.
At this point the best thing they can do is (and i know im gonna be that obnoxious guy talking about FFXIV now sry) shut down the cash store temporary. Even if they dont change anything about it at least it would quell some anger in the playerbase. The fact that we have a completely unfinished game with missing features that supposed to be integral part to the game but HEY the cash shop is working as intended boys is asinine.
During Endwalker launch (a new expansion with FFXIV) they completely shut down selling the game since there were launch issues and massive que lines. They value customers and didnt want to sell them something they cant even play with. Same principle “could” be applied here since Darktide released but the game in its current state is laughable and nothing really has changed from the beta. We are legits still in beta basically. That fact that they are making sure EVEN FURTHER MONETIZATION is working while the game is NOT is baffling and shows no spine.
My friend. Don’t even mention Yoshi P and his team next to Fat Sharks. Yoshi P did a video crying and apologizing to fans when Endwalker had to be delayed. When there was frustration on how little (by 1%) unbalanced was one stage in rain on Endwalker, he wrote while 3 A4 pages of explanation, apology and promising to be better in future when testing stuff before release. When there is any problem with the FF XIV, Yoshi P is there with video, explanation, always respecting his customers. Dude had so much spine he killed a game to revive it into second biggest MMO on market. He added tons of features to FF XIV just becasue players wanted them. He still has his vision but he for example was the first dev ever (for me) to admit that “players are better than us at playing this game so we made a mistake when testing”. This dude has MASSIVE respect for his players, and said many times it’s thanks to them he is where is he is today.
Fat Shark with their bugs not fixed for sometimes years, for stuff not being reworked/added as promised for years in V2, for not delivering even little what they promised on launch of Darktide have no right to be in the same thread as Yoshi P, who if he didn’t deliver promised 70+ weapons on release would probably have mental breakdown on live being ashamed of breaking promise to fans.
Fat Sharks just pat themselves on back, release cash store and that’s it. Then it’s always slience when it comes to issues plaguing the game for even weeks/months before fixes roll, usually breaking something else (hello, new thoughness!) or being totally disconnected from what they playerbase want.
As much as i simp for Yoshi i try to restrain myself cuz that is not the point here. The point im trying to make is that they just released an utter unfinished mess that should have been absolutely delayed instead of adding further monetization. Some argue that this MTX is “fine” cuz its industry standard at this point (unfortunately) but since the game itself barely function and missing key functions like crafting debunk that argument completely. U didnt even get your game at this point and thats the biggest issue.
Noone forced you to play the beta. Also noone forced you to play QA and to give feedback about it. It was your personal choice, because you wanted to play the game as early as possible. It was also your choice to write a poem if something went wrong.
And now you´re upset because of YOUR choices and make it down to Fatshark.
You could´ve wait for the release and its reviews, if not longer. But hey… it´s clearly better to play the beta just to play the poor trapped player after it.
It´s not like it was obvious a week ago that stuff will not be ready at release for all beta-players out there.
And no… there is no need to trolling anything. It´s just you being entitled to your opinion and feeling upset about something that was clearly in your hands from beginning. You just don´t want to open your mind to something different than “moaning about the current state of the game, the cashshop and those lazy devs lieing to us”, obviously. (Which is pretty normal if someone feels upset.)
You are joking right?
At some point FS bragged about 4 or 5 million sold V2 copies. Conspiracy theorists would say that after Tencent bought shares, the game was allowed to release in China. It would make sense in so far that someone / something kept them funded for the last few years after WoM bombed hard and their playerbase shrunk by like 90%.
Based on the new cash shop, this game probably wasn’t made for the Western market.
Of course no one forced us to do this. As with any preorder we place a bit of faith in a company, and Fatshark’s track record made us hope better for them.
They have released an unfinished game with an exploitative cosmetics store, where VT2 has had a perfectly passable non-exploitative store for years that they could just have taken.
THANK YOU.
Particularly, WHAT has FS learned in the last years if not that we WANT crafting and that the crafting in VT2 was nice, we liked it and that we wanted more; also if possible a deeper or more complex system (or at the least the same).
But what do we get?
“It does not really fit the theme”
We fight in huge, city sized FACTORIES! Where if not HERE could be crafting MORE fitting? Even coming from the lore there is no problem, because there are S O M A N Y variants, that if we wanted a Las-Rifle with with a scope or one with huge capacitors or with sniper sights or one with a chainblade at the front - ALL would be possible.
And looking back at VT2, were we were only a ragtag group, why could we use crafting there, always on the move and fighting, and only a small forge and a dwarf at hand?
(I know Bardin can do everything, but I am sure Hardron can even more)
Please, FS, make crafting happen. The only other logical, albeit bland, solution would be to use our “position” (being on a inquisitorial ship) and give us the option to “buy any weapon (in any number) we wish” (appropriate to our trust level of course).
Let’s be all honest here and translate Hedge words (“crafting weapons doesn’t fit the theme of setting”) to what they really are:
“It does not fit into our plan on forcing FOMO and RNG on you so you will play our game longer in hope of getting weapon you want from our RNG mechanics which we hope will give you more time to fall into our monetization scheme, as artifically prologing gameplay shows in our excel sheets: the more you play the more likely you are to spend money in cash shop. Therefore we can’t afford you to get weapon you like with good stats too fast as we want to you grind and feel like you are missing out if you are not grinding. Crafting your gear would make game too convinient to you, which is something we don’t want. Play more or miss out”
the top post on the sub is about how bad the shop is. well done fatshark Great Job
please remember to leave your recommendation of the game on the steam store page, and explain exactly the reasons you left it. if they won’t listen to the feedback on forums, maybe they will if there’s enough feedback through game reviews.
Oh I did
It worth a shot but i have a weird feeling now that they just laughing it off and carry on cuz “oh its just trolls”.
To add insult to injury, here’s what kind of crap they’re selling people:
It’s Vermintide 2 levels of recolors but being sold within this premium currency shop. What an inconceivable joke this all is.
Yes very cheap … just us a slider in substance painter to change the green color into red.
5 seconds of work and you can sell it for … dunno 5 bucks ?
What a joke of company
also don’t forget the fact that they put the premium cash shop RIGHT NEXT TO THE ACTUAL SHOP you get all of your items from, so every time you engage in a core gameplay mechanic you’re walking right by something meant to constantly tempt you. how could this possibly NOT be predatory?
It’s absurd to me because Martyr lets you change colors of your armor, for free, no catch.
