I do play? How else do I have the dockets and resources to be disappointed?
I’m not sure what you are saying no to? Not spoilt? Not good for everyone? Not have a fundamental mis understanding of RNG? Not getting something after hundreds and hundreds of hours?
It feels like you may have replied to me by mistake.
No in regards to cherry picked examples.
Maybe the issue is some of guys here just burning their millions of dockets hoping for 380s, but just playing the game on heresy and damnation actually drops very good weapons, some legednary with T3-4 blessings. So even if you do not like the stats, you get the blessings.
It is just a vast improvement from what we had previously. No one says it is great nor perfect, but it is so much better than pre-patch. You can jus tplay to get stuff.
Ah yes, the full range of weapon base rating 280-380, blue, purple or orange, full range of blessings and tiers.
It’s a good thing that we get a guaranteed Emperor’s gift, that’s another layer of RNG gone that didn’t need to be there. It’s just that the drop pool is so large it’s very unlikely you’ll get anything useful.
That is your opinion, I played maybe 10 hrs and got 5-6 major upgrades, not to mention many T3-4 blessings. That dropped from damn, low intensity mission. Nothing fantastic, but much better than anything I had over previous 100 hrs with Zealot in braced auto category:
When I get better base stats, I’ll junk it for blessings.
So yeah, if you only want 380 items with best T4 blessings, maybe it is not worth bothering with the game, as it will always be behind some rng.
My experience has literally been crafting fodder. I don’t know where you are getting worthwhile weapons but even running hi damnations I’m still seeing mostly trash 421 total oranges or purples.
Yeah it’s still an item but even compared to the stuff we got in the shop last patch it’s pretty bad.
Since the patch I’ve mostly been running Damnation and while the crafting material rewards are great the emperor’s gifts have been consistently not worth using.
Edit: oh it’s a 325 base auto gun with mobility as the dump stat. I mean…ehh? I wouldn’t use it but you do you.
Yeah, I’m at the point where Emperors Gift is 99.9% docket fodder, that’s probably where our disagreement comes from. That item you have there is purely to trade in for more dockets for me.
I have a feeling that our definitions of trash weapons maybe different.
In my case I see it being improved a lot, and just look at Melk.
You can easily get 1-2 wepons worth your while, either as go-to weapons or T4 blessing chase.
I mean guys, srsly I am not pretending or sugarcoating it as a good system. I just know from experience that I got in one day as many good/better weapons as it would take me around 2weeks previously.
Also note that you can complete weeklies much faster now, thus for ppl on several/all characters it is much better situation.
Yes Melk’s has improved, I don’t deny that. Melk’s has always been a source of blessings, so that hasn’t changed too much. The reworked contracts is better too. My issue with Melk still hasn’t really changed though, it’s mainly the daily timer and again, the RNG of items.
Fair enough, I do not care about mobility on this one at all, and the rest is in high 70ties, who cares that the base is 325, if it does its job awesomely.
I know there are some who by a rule cannot look at anything lower than 360, but that seems like their problem, not the game’s. Imho of course, everyone has their own take.
Yes and no. It’s also the game’s fault for being able to get said 380s but layering so many hoops, walls and obstacles in getting them. Why is it wrong for players to want something the game can give but refuses to?
It’s weird to blame the players when the game is designed the way it is.
Yeah, I would love to see shared resources, weeklies and introduction of dailies (non-related; scoreboard pls.).
I would not mind if we could select our reward after mission completion form a pool of several, maybe more than one depending on difficulty, secondaries and monmstrosities.
There is still much room for improvement, that is clear. Still tha tpatch made my go back to the game after 1,5 months of not touching it and I am having fun.
Yes it is pretty terrible. It looked terrible on paper when they presented it and it is terrible in practice, who knew? !
They’ve also changed the weekly contracts into a money sink of chasing rank3 contracts as they give the most bang for your time, so you have to kind of factor that money sink in as well or ignore it and simply just do what you get.
I feel like Fatshark has some hidden criteria they aren’t telling us about, which is why they simply redressed and cut up the rng grind to make it look like it was better, but in actuality it is much worse… Because they cut it up… They don’t seem to understand math or they are using it to trick the masses in order to get what they wanted anyway.
However, I also feel like this whole rng loot grind is dividing the player base and distracting us from the issue that is actually driving people away… It isn’t the rng grind. As bad and as horrible as it is, it is made worse by the fact that it is basically our only piece of content and endgame activity.
The issue is that the game is far from finished and there is nothing to play or do. We only have a few side quests to grind over and over and no storyline or anything to actually play.
Content is what is needed and it is needed in droves.
The fact they said they’ve halted content releases in order to “fix” their horrible rng system and in that time, they made it worse and also stopped content releases.
It’s like they are doubling down on mistakes in every facet of their development… It is truly fascinating to see… At this point it is more about human nature really, how many more mistakes and bad decisions can they make until they eventually and accidently make a good one? Hehe
Imo, their current patch shows they have no interest in listening to feedback and changing their design philosophy. I mean didn’t one of the lead designers make an interview pre Christmas about how amazing the state of the game was at the time? Truly shows how ignorant they are, or at least the ones making decisions.
We will see what they do in a year. They’ve stolen enough money at the moment to keep in business for awhile. The sad truth is that once they finally make something they’ll put a price tag on that as well, even though we funded it based on their deceptive early release.
But I guess that’s game development these days. Predatory and deceit.
For me a “good weapon” would be decent bars, and specific perks and blessings tier 3-4. I don’t want to compromise on blessing combinations especially since they can radically change the weapon.
I get the feeling that another reason they chose this horrendus RNG system other than hopoing to keep their players hoked on a carrot that they will never get is to bother less about balancing stuff. Fatshark is notoriusly lazy in making in balancing passes, i mean the biggest thing about balance in vermintide 2 was taking a sh*tty mod some random guy made and put it on the server.
Right now some specific combination of perks blessings and stats may make a weapon compleatly broken but no one gonna notice since it will be available only for the 0,1% of the playerbase.
So here’s the rub. Force sword, for example, has 13 blessings. Tiers 1-4. That’s 52 options. If I, ideally, want a T4 exorcist and T4 deflector, but I could settle for tier 3 that means in either slot I only have a 4/52 on rolling what I need. Anything else is a brick. Not to mention having good modifiers and one good perk (perks have 20 combinations and some are garbage) and if I mess up on the first perk or blessing, its a risky investment to spend even more potentially on trash, which sucks as a player experience. Who likes feeling like they spent hours of work into nothing?
Not to mention SOME BLESSINGS ARE MORE RARE THAN OTHERS! I have never seen exorcist, only knew it existed from darkmass (before the site owner took it down due to the crafting changes and no longer wanting to support it) and I have only seen a few deflectors, never a tier 3 or 4. So really, how long should I be expected to play and gamble until I could supposedly try out a 360+ tier 3-4 force sword with exorcist and deflector? And at least some perks like damage vs flak or unarmored or infected or maniacs?
Dunno, just get the blessings you are interested in from Melk…
I barely got my psyker to 30 and I have a deflector 3 from Melk’s inventory 2 days ago.
But I get it if that is too much for you then that is it. As I am saying, I do not believe this is a good system, I do however see it is much better now than what we had at realease or till last patch.
Sure, it’s better, no question. But not nearly good enough to even justify playing for a decent amount of people it seems. Have you ever seen exorcist? Have you seen deflector 3 on a weapon that had good modifiers and a good perk? Seeing the blessing once isn’t the only criteria. I can tell you, I have mained psyker and spent 250 hours into the game and I came nowhere across these requirements. And a lot of time out of the game using the app to check melks and the store.
