Revolver idea

I’d love more and varied specials in general. Like staves have a whole moveset behind the special attacks, it would be great if that was used more. Many ranged weapons could use small light & heavy attack combos, similar to melee weapons. Or unique actually useful attacks that could complement your melee and give more choices, but without being overpowering. Many guns have slower equip speeds which would also justify having a powerful melee special. They could even have special animations or their own mechanics like costing stamina, or having some internal cooldown or counter like dodges do to keep them from being too strong.

If I imagined just a few ideas as an example:

  • What if Revolvers had a kick that would just send normal sized enemies flying into the ground? It would fit the Revolver style and seeing your teammates kick a shotgunner down the ravine would just never not be funny!
  • What if many of the smaller weapons without flashlights had an automatic dodge special? Kinda like the Devil’s Claw parry, you’d tap it shortly before getting hit and you’d just do a cool dodge instead. With a say, 1-2s animation lock and a limit of only 1-2 dodged attacks per use would still keep it from being too strong.
  • Helbores are so slow to equip and come equipped with a bayonet. What if their light attack was a swing that could cleave through a few horde and dos some real damage, and the heavy would be a powerful stab that could kill even specials with 2 hits?
  • Oggy guns in general could use punches, kicks, tackles or something. Still I feel like they’re in the best place already since most of them have good stagger and some have decent damage too, especially since it benefits from all the heavy attack bonus talents.
  • Psyker staves could actually act as decent melee alternatives, strong enough to take down even specials with a few swings. But since psykers aren’t muscle and a polearm isn’t exactly a cleave weapon it would have really bad cleave. Light attacks could be just different combos, and heavy attacks would power the staff with warp to deal high damage and stagger to single targets.
