Sorry, just sharing my opinion like everyone else.
I actually think this doesn’t make any sense, like how someone lucking (or cheating) into money doesn’t somehow devalue the money I’ve earned through my hard work. That’s why I ignored it.
I don’t know anything about WoW, but a quick search seems to show that everyone chooses to use this. I don’t see the relevance to DT, even if the mods do similar things.
Again, I know nothing about WoW, but it sure seems like a large part of that mod is related to communicating with large teams. Might explain why so many people use it and how it is so impactful. At any rate, I see the similarities to Spidey Sense but still don’t personally think Spidey Sense has such an impact as to be problematic.
DBM&Co specifically replace communication. For example, in a 40 man raid a boss might put a debuff on half the raid and force them to split up. The mods can just straight up tell each player where to go to automate that process.
It’s also not that “people choose to use it”, it’s that it trivializes the raids mechanics so much that you get kicked from raids for not using it, because people at some point decided “if addons like this are fine then just everyone should use it so we can mindlessly stomp our way through the content with ease, never be challenged, and get our loot” and that’s what the game is now. They also implemented some form of it on their own later on, but the evolution of those helper addons went into weak auras afterwards iirc which is just basically DBM on steroids, able to basically replace decisionmaking and shotcalling entirely.
Additionally it changed game design in raids to be more of a numbers tuning thing. If players just automate all the cool mechanics they could come up with, then why even come up with cool mechanics? Just make it all DPS checks. This point in particular realistically might apply to Darktide, depending on how much the devs care to create an actual challenge for those most tryhard players who use all the mods they can, they may approach the design differently.
Jokes on you, I’ve taken a break from the game for a while now.
Besides that, the rest just comes across as a crappy rant that doesn’t actually say anything and is just a triggered insult directed at me.
Come back when you can discuss, not just insult. There were very specific mods and examples brought up, you chose to ignore all of that. I respect blunt speech, but it needs to actually say something, which your post entirely failed to do.
No dude, I’ve just heard that same old tired argument before, many times.
I’m not bothering to address it when it’s been commented on repeatedly in topics like this and across many games.
You’re doing the same old crap people do every time where they regurgitate talking points they’ve seen other people say while trying to desperately convince themselves the other person is angry or upset. I laughed at how out of left field and aggressive your post was initially while being completely wrong about me in every way and then stopped caring.
You are literally being a hypocrite with that last post, doing exactly what you claim i did. Even though I gave a clear stated point to why this thread is irrelevant and should honestly be locked at this point
You think Fatshark devs are completely incompetent to realizing what mod is gonna break their games balance? If ANY of these mods were actually balance breaking they would have already been shut down. Hence why Fatshark even has guide lines for mods.
They are not just gonna have rules and then do nothing about them. The fact that the mods that you mention even exist to download literally proves you wrong
You seem like the kind of person that gets upset at people who use console commands in single player games, thinking they are getting an unfair advantage over someone on console
I genuinely have no clue what your problem is. I hope your day gets better.
The discussion was actually making a bit of headway (shockingly) prior to your need to go on the attack at me. Calling me a hypocrite when I got tired of watching people running the same circles and finally pushing the discussion in a different way/presenting things in a different light as you turn around and say the exact same tripe that’s been said a million times across multiple games as well as this forum is just desperately seeking to be right in some manner.
And if you’re just like this all the time, you should probably take a break from the internet.
I’m a PC player. Playing Rimworld right now. Good game. Very relaxing. You should try it.
And I’m saying you’re coping to save face because your “just ignore it” turned out to be generalizing too much. That’s literally stronger than Mk5 infantry auto vet and has infinite ammo and pinpoint accuracy
So if you think you’re not going to change anybody’s opinion, why are you here? To try to insult me? You’re not even doing a good job of that.
Because that’s not true. As has been discussed.
Because it’s a single player game.
lolwut. That’s such a ridiculous standpoint. Have you ever even done true soloing in any game?
You’re straight up unhinged at this point, on top of putting words in my mouth.
You said it best:
Usually said by people into a power fantasy who don’t care if their experience is impacting others, as they actively refuse to play on lower difficulties while simultaneously wanting to be able to do the higher difficulties despite not actually wanting to put in the requisite effort.
Guess we’re going back to cherry picking land because everything else you said was wrong.
You continue to add nothing new to the conversation.
Nope. It also affects players making worse decisions, getting overconfident, etc as the various parts of their skill set doesn’t always match the parts of their skillset they’re compensating for.
And in the case of them being a ‘better player’ and it having no impact: The game is overall far too easy. I genuinely do not have fun when a match is too easy. I know, I know, a wild concept that you are completely glossing over. Contributing to trivializing the difficulty by using mods to simplify mechanics and whatnot is gross as hell.
The conversation moved on from that…
checks notes
A few hundred posts ago.
And you also continue to just try to insult me. Ironically, I hate the most when the entire match is far too easy. That’s pretty boring.
I don’t care if somebody is ‘carrying’ me. (I genuinely can’t recall a time I ever felt like that, mostly just some annoyance at how bland the game gets when someone is facerolling the map)
This is such a nonsensical point overall. Guess everybody should just sit in a corner and do a pacifist run but one person, after all, you can true solo the game so what you do doesn’t impact your team.
Nope. Certainly is more common than it should be. When an increasing number of matches get less fun due to people being capable of facerolling maps on their own due to various factors (including this discussion) then the overall game becomes less fun.
There are also some that tend to be pretty obvious, to say the least.
The absolute irony.
Doubt.
The tl;dr: Games like Darktide thrive with a challenge. Attempting to subvert that challenge is gross. The end.
The timing of how fast you can do this is determined by latency, you’re never going to actually shoot 10 times per second in an actual mission. Only in true solos.
(Also, a macro isn’t a mod)
It’s still about 5x faster with that macro than doing it manually, and still gamebreakingly busted strong
Also the distinction between macro and mod isn’t really that relevant here. A mod can also achieve this and more consistently. I’m just pointing out that you can achieve extremely gamebreaking things via mods that are absolutely not on the level of “you won’t even notice”
if a player is doing this in your mission you will notice and it will suck the fun out of it
