Red Duplicates

Some more duplicates after farming for a bit - Melee / ranged weapons have stayed the same as in my video. I’ll screenshot that as well if needed.

Trinkets and charms for days :weary:

I’m feeling that. Just cleared everything out ready to stack those chests!

I’m really pissed off about red dupes now. I don’t have a lot of reds and on saltzpyre the only one I have is the crossbow which I don’t even like. Now I just got another red on saltzpyre. Guess which? YOU GUESSED IT. Red crossbow. I could of gotten 12 other items on saltzpyre instead of duplicate crossbow.

edit: I just now got my duplicate red dual daggers for kerillian, also the ONLY red I had for her before. I could of gotten 13 other items instead of duplicate dual daggers.

It’s like fatshark is intentionally trying to frack us. If they don’t give us non duplicate reds and some trade in system I will not only stop buying their products I’m going to quit the game.

I don’t understand why FS didn’t make it like in V1. I loved the system that limited reds to 1/each inloot table. It guaranteed that you will eventually have all reds for the class you play.

I’m missing red glaive, red 1h sword and dual daggers from my elf. So painfull to open chests and wishing for one of those items and get rewarded with 4th hagbane or Sigmar knows how many trinket, charm etc…

It’s not even fun anymore. I wanna have all reds to show when im done with this game. In V1 it took me +1200hrs. In V2 I most likely end up quitting before even finishing 2 careers…

The recent drop rate change is really starting to expose how ugly the loot tables are.

On one hand, I’m finding it super cool that reds actually drop now. On the other hand, since the patch I have gotten 4 red daggers, 11 red trinkets, a few charms and necks, and a single other weapon for the ranged and melee categories. Obviously RNG is RNG and this sample size isn’t indicative of a pattern. However it does draw attention to one very obvious thing – that this is even possible.

Currently, reds are the ONLY unique end-game reward. The only one. Past a certain amount of time played, a non-red is literally worthless. Similarly, a red that you already have multiple dupes of is completely worthless. By the nature of specialization, most players are going to want a specific weapon type, but by the nature of random chance, an extremely limited subset of people will actually get the specific red that they want. This is… just bad, really. It causes the reward system to actively make you feel worse rather than encouraging you.

I don’t have a specific fix, but the red dupe issue is a HUGE issue. I’ve completely given up on the end game reward progression system, because it feels like no matter how much time I try to dump in there is a significant chance I will simply never accomplish my goal.

Chances we could get a dev response? Has one been made regarding all the duplicate reds? Honest question, not being snarky.

99.9% agreed. Caveat: Technically worth having weap dupes on power vs stackers specifically for Into the Nest (cuz no chaos) but, obviously, meh lol. Other than that there a few rare instances where a class sharing a weapon type will want different stats but still, meh. W dupe protection I think I’d have everything twice over by now but instead I’ve got 50 accessories and a small handful of random weapons.

Not like it wasn’t obvious from the start.

And I had to play this game for over 400 hours to get one red necklace, yay!

Yeah it’s pretty unacceptable. People can say exotics work fine but other than some easy to hit breakpoints on some characters, there’s a pretty big difference in not having max rolls. Not to mention how it can take a ton of rolls just to get the combo you want, let alone a passable value on it on an exotic. Same goes for every stat. Ppl can go “lol 1% crit” all they want but on a class that’s heavily dependent on crits and crit procs for its performance, that does make a substantial difference.

4 red Hagbanes for the elf now. 0 other bows…

Would you mind getting your shiz together fatshark? Thanks.

More trinkets and charms…cmon fatshark, any input here?

Curious was there an official response from FS about duplicates?

I just see patch notes with environment fixes…

Everybody I know beyond lvl 30 logs into the game to get their reds.

This has to be addressed as a core issue.

I’m getting very close to having an equal ratio of red necklaces to all my red weapons combined. This is so shortsighted on the devs part. Obviously they thought that if you couldn’t get red duplicates, hardcore players would get all the reds too fast and stop playing.

But guess what, those same hardcore players are just as likely to stop playing when they realize the odds of them getting that red weapon they actually want is slim to none because useless jewelry clogs up the loot table, so why even bother.

3 Kruber longbow here… wait! I never play hunter :open_mouth:

Dupes should stay imho because there ARE some items I do appreciate having multiples on, since it allows for different builds and enables experimenting. However, it becomes obvious that we need some kind of red-dust-system that allows us to melt down dupes to get what we want. You could make it expensive for all I care, like 5 red dusts to craft a new item, but then let me choose which one I want. Would make dupe drops you don’t need still meaningful and it removes frustration.

But there would still be dupes, you’d just start getting them once you had a full set for the character you’re on. Ie. instead of getting 20each of charms/trinkets/necklaces, 3 xbows, and 2 axes, you’d get everything you actually wanted first, then drown in an unnecessary number of accessories. I’d be happy with a crafting system too though.

To be fair I agree with Fatshark that red loot drop is fine now (maybe not so much with cosmetics), but red duplicates are still a big issue. I have 3 seeker’s keys red and i haven’t got too many reds in total. I think I’ll be fine with the system once we’ll stop getting red duplicates.

That way, even if trinkets and stuff are the most likely drop and there are like 10 of each category, after a while we’ll have them all and can stard dropping weapons.

Would be so simple a change that’d make such a huge difference. Fingers crossed

Just got my 5th red 1h hammer, and 4th red shotgun for Bardin today

Yay me!

6 Neckles
7 Charms
7 Trinkets
4 Bolt Staffs

I don’t know why this system is so badly designed(intentional or not), but this is a problem, which just makes people mad. You want try new builds without spending a hundreds of rolls on oranges? Want some cool mace? Nah i give you 7th trinket, you can’t use it, but hey it’s still red, no?
