I couldn’t find the Cadian Vet variant at first! ![]()
Hehe.
![]()
both classes press F with exe/desperado to kill things. one just does it way better. it aint vet. lol
True that, but you can make stup pistols mid-range to long range if you really want to. And they have more versatility compared to the Infantry Lasgun.
No-one sane takes exe stance while there is shout..
True! Infantry Lasguns definitely need some buffs…
I do, I do! I guess you could make the argument that I’m not sane, but I really do like ES better than VoC.
Voc is boring exe stance is fun the choice is easy.
1000% Agree it just should give you more then what it does. Like 1 talent is to highlight range enemies… ![]()
I think the only reason many players still use voc is because they cant comprehend the idea of playing vet without golden toughness
.
Once you open the box of Pandora, you can’t go back. They can’t change pick pocket now without creating an even bigger shitstorm.
For which reason precisely?
You didn’t have to confirm my insanity bruh. D:<
Spittin facts with this
This is the exact kind of behavior I mean. A game company puts out new content - you don’t have to like it. But throwing a hissy-fit because it wasn’t what you wanted is just embarrassing.
Indirectly this does fuel the teams ammo supply. If nobody has to shoot anything because the Hive Scum can take care of it all solo due to infinite ammo and doesn’t even need to pick up any boxes for it, it does massively relieve ammo econ in the mission. One could say the same about Psyker if Psyker had a staff that was as good as the HS ranged weps at killing all the ranged-relevant targets.
I don’t know what other people are saying about old survivalist etc, but I’m not under any pretense it was ever balanced. Nor am I under a pretense that it would be balanced if vet had infinite ammo with brautos. It’s just scummy the basegame, “free to play” class has to adhere to a concept of game balance while the premium class does not.
It will also be scummy when the Hive Scum will eventually have these things balanced out, proving that it could’ve been balanced instead of removed.
There’s as many types of guardsmen as there are worlds. The old exec stance crackhead gameplay fit the Catachan guard fantasy (which is a mixture of Rambo and Predator) perfectly.
Hive Scum supplies to itself and can fuel team’s ammo supply with Gunslinger Improved because the effect applies to anyone who picks ammo crates without cooldown limits though, meanwhile with Survivalist is mandatory to kill an elite or specialist enemy, under 5s cooldown.
Yes because vet is shoehorned into playing with gold toughness: low health, medium to high toughness, very low stamina. And iron will as the one damage reduction node. Vet sucks hard if you do not play shout and I do agree that shout is the boring option between it and exe stance. Even the new “glass cannon” scum has better damage reduction skills and toughness replenishment skills … and better corruption cleansing.
I guess the two things vet does better is shock trooper and catch a breath.
I use exec stance on vet in auric maelstrom missions all the time never had a problem staying alive and consistently killing gunners and specialists. I think shout being meta for so long brain rotted every vet main into thinking vet is useless without the stagger everything button.
The vet rework made it so much easier to stay alive with all the toughness nodes above and exec stance toughness regen. I don’t know what to say other than just learn how to use it, it definitely has a higher skill ceiling
. Not saying its superior to shout but its another option to consider if you want a more ranged focused playstyle (yes on the ranged focused class).
I mean maybe I’m in the minority, but I’ve never liked VoC nor Infiltrate, and the fact that they’ve buffed VF/ES a few times now only reinforces my love for it ![]()
So, the rundown: 2 ability points that buff the generalist & ranged-finesse class’ ranged-finesse capabilities and regens 10% Toughness per second that has a very high possibility to last several minutes at a time, whether through chaining-activations (since it goes on cooldown after you press the ability button instead of having to wait for the activation to end) or simply killing ranged chaff (and elites and specials) that pours in constantly at higher difficulties, on top of the fact you can use your melee whilst the effect is active and it will refresh; any kills in general credited to you also count for extension.
All that in a vacuum? For 2 points? I’m takin’ it ![]()
Not even going into how it makes so many weapons and setups shine.
All I’m saying is, when everyone else is screaming “FiGhT oR aNsWeR tO mE”
, you’ll catch me hitting that “Hold that pose, Heretic…” ![]()
God I love Volley Fire ![]()
More people should too!
This is exactly the case (even though imo, it was still fine before); as much as people doompost about the state of Vet with every patch, if they’d just properly dive in they’d see how it actually be

I don’t think this is realistically comparably to actively generating ammo for your team. Sure what you’ve said is true, but at the end of the day ammo is still finite with a Psyker or Desperado scum on the team. There’s more ammo for the others but once it’s used that’s it.
Survivalist meanwhile continues to provide ammo based on an infinite trigger condition, you will never run out of elites and specials to kill. They will keep coming as long as you’re in the mission.
So while there’s some overlap in their effect on team ammo economy I remain utterly unconvinced a class being self sufficient for ammo is comparable to survivalist.
Thank you for your clarification on this.
See above response. There’s still a noticeable difference between making a limited resource go further and making a limited resource unlimited.
That aside I’m not a fan of that aura. It works really funky and seems extremely abuseable with certain build comps. Fatshark should rework that aura for sure.
