It feels like a small group of players, maybe around 50 or so, are driving a lot of the feedback lately. I respect their passion, but I hope Fatshark considers the broader player base when making changes to Darktide. Balancing improvements for a few without compromising the experience for many is always tricky.
Some of these lengthy posts that end with a call for nerfs are starting to feel a bit repetitive. I get where folks are coming from, but it’s becoming a pattern that’s hard not to notice.
So you want to make auric “havoc like”, while purposefully ignoring havoc, and indirectly completely change havoc for people that like havoc as it currently is?
Declaring other views as “wrong” kind of shuts down discussion, doesn’t it? Forums thrive when we can challenge ideas without dismissing each other outright.
You know that game you guys love so much but don’t play anymore? VT2? It had sound issues too, sound issues happen even in lower difficulties. Nerfing player power is not a direct answer to sound issues, that’s a fatshark engine thing and I don’t see it going away, even helldivers 2 seem to suffer from it every once in a while. Better to ask modders to make more “cackling trapper” like mods.
Shocking: I don’t disagree with people wanting a more grounded and challenging game.
What I mostly disagree with is your solution: Nerf player power.
What could be a middle ground: Instead of trolling people in discussions and forcing your view onto others…why not opt for a more sensible approach that unites the community and it’s not so controversial? Like modded realms or custom lobbies, I don’t see how those 2 could be seen as controversial by anyone but fatshark.
I don’t think they’re going to do that because it would like you said bring a whole host of new problems and we already have this system in Havoc where mobs spawn with more HP and there a bunch of weapons are just not fun or viable to use at all.
So at that point how else do u balance the game besides nerfing players.
Sorry, the increasing “fun” has unequivocally resulted in Spamtide to compensate and turned the game into an inconsistent mess of Specialist/Elite mosh pits. “Affects” is an amusing understatement.
No, i want Auric to be the hardest normal difficulty.
No. I want the difficulties to be:

Uprising: Easy

Malice: Normal

Herecy: Hard
-
Damnation: Very hard
-
Auric: Damnation + high intensity and modifiers
Instead of:

Uprising: snooze fest

Malice: Very easy
-
Herecy: Easy
-
Damnation: Normal
-
Auric: Damnation, but more elites and specials
Just like in other games, most people should gravitate towards “normal” and not being afraid to go down one difficulty if they get their behinds kicked, instead of demanding the difficulty to be lowered to their skill level.
It’s kinda funny some people here are so hellbent on having a "balanced game”, yet the same people already have True Level 100+ on Arbites in one month from its release or post runs on youtube of Arbites regularly.
One would expect that people would avoid abusing the “busted OP EZ mode stuff that ruins the game for everyone”, but I guess it’s totally fine they “ruined” (in their own words, not mine) so many matches for other people by removing all the challenge.
Also if I had a dime for every Arbites that never sends the dog after gunners in my Havoc 40 games, I could afford buying every new rotation from the MTX store, yet the times where Arbites “carried” singlehandedly are probably in a single digits, which only tells me that bad players cannot reach full potential on this class, it’s only broken in the hands of top players which is not that different to pre-Arbites days.

That’s fine if you dislike Arbites and want them to be nerfed, but people need to stop pretending that it’s somehow killing Darktide or that it’s the “correct opinion”, just because most people on the forums agree. Even when it comes to Auric Damnation/Havoc lobbies, the forums are but a small chunk which doesn’t represent the playerbase all too well.
I’ve played the game since release, and I’ve played it back when there were barely any content updates due to them making console ports. Back then it had 2k daily players which is way lower than it is now. So all this dramatic “Arbites ruined the game so hard nobody is playing” is honestly laughable, especially when it’s still summer season.
Seriously… it won’t happen.
When I see how fast Fatshgark can react compared to others studios, really, I think it won’t happen.
I don’t see the contradiction. The Arbites has a very tight skill tree. The gold standard going forward imo. It’s fun to play with. And most gamers will always min/max.
The whole “why don’t you intentionally gimp yourself?” is a very odd card to play.
One can enjoy the game and still see faults and room for improvement.
I, for one, quit darktide, over arbities.
I should specify, it is killing Darktide FOR ME. I don’t think most people care too much about the state of balance for the game, but I hate where the game balance is at the moment so I am going to talk about how I don’t like it.
I think most people who care about DT have mentioned this, but I doubt this will ever happen. Both the switch to FS ran servers, and FS not even letting us pick maps etc is a pretty sure sign to me they have no intention of ever implementing this.
Leaving us with FS’s absymal balance change rate, which whether you like the state of the game now or not creates a very stale meta that hasn’t been changed in about a year.
I don’t know why you are commited to being vague about this if you’re gonna call someone out then do it and if you’re talking about Harridas I don’t know how you expect him to show proof of how overpowered the class is without actually playing it.
Going back to Vet or Zealot after 50 hours of Arbites really does feel like this. It feels as though they mashed them up together and only kept the best from both talents trees, added some good shield weapons, tons of stagger, a dog, a truly busted electric stick, and Ta-dah ! Arbites was born.
Just because it’s PvE does not make all this fine, from a game design standpoint.
its OK because muhlore says arbites is like a superpower on its own like their inspiration.
this is why you need to do gimmick runs like shot pistol shield bash only to avoid crashing the game with the current 45 buffs bug. arbites can achieve that by pressing W.
