I dislike these keystones because they force you to work against your team to gain power.
Since you need to killed a ‘marked’ enemy for your keystone, but so may 1, 2 or all 3 of your teammates.
This is why they are pretty bad, IMO; They don’t foster teamwork and instead encourage kill-stealing and rushing into danger to get that enemy before a teammate kills them. And said teammate may not even be aware you need the kill!
Every keystone with a ‘Mark enemies’ passive should trigger regardless of whom gets the killing blow.
the way arbites regenerates toughness, combined with his kill speed, i dont hold back either way.
yes i focus on the outlined enemies as long as the penance is active, then again a dead enemy is a harmless enemy so my “job for the team” is done.
playing exclusively with randoms, i dont “own them anything” besides playing at the top of my game and seeing the match through to a win.
other than that i do my utmost to kill as many as fast as i can and improve as a player.
most players in auric maelstrom and above struggle hard to keep a proper pace, slowing down in terms of killing on purpose puts additional pressure on them and leads to a more pecarious situation all over the mission.
I don’t see to big an issue with it, I’d honestly argue Disrupt Destiny is more annoying because it only marks one enemy, and will only cascade into more marks if YOU kill it, otherwise it has to re-target. This marking system literally marks constantly/I’ve had 2-3 marks on my screen at once at various points, and with how much elite/specialist spam there is in the game I’m sure my team mates experience the same. So I see no issue with how this keystone was implemented, feels quite fine to me and I have no issue dealing with things in front of me an more often them not having them glow purple as I do so too.
Make each such Keystone give a weaker stack of a teammate kills the marked enemy.
It would be better than an all-or-nothing buff in a horde game where anyone and anything can kill your marked target.
This and the random factor of how/when stuff gets marked is why I don’t play Disrupt Destiny, and probably won’t try the Arbites Execution Order. It’s the kinda of thing that even if it balances well in a meta-sense looking at aggregated spreadsheets, has a lot of “feelsbad” frustration attached. Not my favorite mechanism for a coop shooter.
But if you do it passively, I can assure you you will complete it before they act.
You have 1 year or two. So don’t be afraid, you will have completed it before they patch this point and add rewards for penances.
