People kicking because of low hero levels

So you prefer the likes of me kicking the likes of you instead of the likes of you not being able to join higher difficulty games at all and not be kicked at all? Enjoy the kicks then!

I’ll just host bud, feel free to leave my games. My bots are probably going to be more useful then you anyway.

we need min lvl requirement as of PH. I can understand that someone can be usefull, but with the right lvl you have talents too

Do that - already seen threads of the likes of you whining how people constantly leave their lobby immediately after joining. Feel free to come and make another whine thread afterwards asking Fatshark to prevent people from leaving your games.

i think they should make it so there is more options when doing quick play.

  1. check if you want to do grims/tomes

  2. have a +/- X lvl (meaning if i’m 20 and i say +/- 5 then i will be grouped with ppl 15-25) this will eliminate finding games that have low lvl players already in them and from low lvl players joining your game

  3. filter out 2-3 maps that you don’t want to get (b/c if my group gets certain maps we will just quit out, bc of the time it takes to complete the map or b/c of certain fights on the map, and then we regroup and que again)

Please show me any instance of me whining about people leaving my games.

In fact I’d be stoked to see players like you leave my games.

Great, you have your “solution” - go implement it and spare people your whining shrug. You can even imagine that every single one leaving your lobby is somebody just like me!

See I don’t think you understand who is “whining” here. If you crybabies get your way I won’t be able to do what I have been doing (playing difficulties on lower levels). Meanwhile, you at this time are free to leave and kick players at your leisure. I have no problem with this. Like I said earlier don’t enforce your trash level requirement ideas on ME.
However, I’m sure you are going to keep crying on this forum until you get your precious level requirement and guess what, you are still going to be plagued by baddies at every level bud.

Yup, resort to insults. That helps. I’m willing to have a civil discussion with you, I think you make valid points that I happen to disagree with. Perhaps getting back on track would help? Not taking things personally?

You are trying to design an entire game system around the fact that a hand full of people are better than their character level would indicate. That is not the case for most. You have to understand the gaming mind set in order to make productive changes in any game.

People want the easiest way to the best rewards. Regardless of their skill level playing a level 1 in Vet, or any low level character in a higher difficulty than they normally would, is that route.

Look I’ve met level 30’s who are bad at this game and I’ve met level 5’s who are great. That being said most low level people will not understand their class or this game as much as that level 30. Yes bad players come at all levels.

From what I can tell what you want is a system that forces everyone else to play with you regardless of your level. I have the vote kick or leave option. I will/can continue to use this. In essence you are the one asking for a change that I believe would negatively impact more people than it positively would.

at least we won’t be plagued by low level baddies.

Besides, a nice middle ground is, like several people already mentioned, is adding a filter when you’re hosting a game, everyone wins, even worthless leeches.

Yeah I’d be fine with that. If I’m playing my IB with some friends who are lower level, sure bring on the lowbies. I can carry you. If I’m playing a character I haven’t invested all of my chests into though… that one isn’t going to carry you as easy.

You can craft qear on your level 1 character. No need to necessarily use boosted gear (but then again why not?). Gear level being shared across classes is obviously intentional. You seem to argue this being possible not being the intent. How so? Nothing I can see points to that.

I am having the same problem. I am trying to level my Saltz on champ, but people insta kick me without asking my hero power or anything. All of my items on him are 300, so at level 15 my hero power is actually higher than some level 30’s out there. Not to mention my skill level, since I’ve beaten the whole game on Champ and several levels on Legend.

Now, I guess there in’t anything that can be done about this, but when they kick you mid game and not just in lobby, it feels terrible. And it has happened multiple times. I’m basically carrying the team, they are all geting battered and im sitting with full health because I know how to dodge and block and use the terrain. But they end up thinking since im at full hp i must not be helping. Absolutely not true.

My suggestion is to make it so that when you are kicked, it still gives you the xp you’ve earned thus far.

It is completely unfair to make it to the end of a particularly difficult champ run just for some dickwad host to start a vote to kick and have his friends that have been harrassing you all match instantly vote yes. You don’t even get a notification, to prevent people being kicked from tossing the grim(something I would admittedly do in such a situation out of spite,) its just one second youre in the bubble at the end and the host is standing outside of it and then boom youre gone. Time wasted.

This forums is great even when I click “reply” it doesn’t always show who I am replying to. Anyway you aren’t exactly a paragon of civilized discourse when you say you “despise seeing level 1’s in your veteran games” are you? I often meet fire with fire and that was in direct response to Naskoni.

Now on to talking points. I would love to see filters for finding games. I definitely think that would suit the most people here. However, level restrictions for difficulties as you might already know I vehemently oppose.

The first character you level would obtain gear at a natural pace. That pace being the one the Dev’s balanced the difficulties around. By using boosted gear, because plvl is account wide, you are allowing a character that wouldn’t normally be able to obtain or use this gear into a higher level.

I’m torn on the account wide plvl system. On one hand I like being able to get really high gear on a character as soon as I start them… on the other hand Recruit and Vet chests are automatic crafting materials.

Even with boosted gear I’ve been playing Recruit until 7-10 before going to Vet and not jumping on Champ until 15+.

Maybe it is intentional that your first character needs to go through recruit, but your second doesn’t. You can’t refer to your experience with 1st character to get any knowledge how your play with your second or third character is intended to be. If they intended each character to start from the bottom they either did a poor job, because they could’ve easily enforced it by not sharing equipment levels across characters or just by implementing level requirements for difficulties. Neither are there.

I wouldn’t call people picking who they play with abuse of the kick function. I’m certainly tired of seeing a level 4 appear on champion, hero power from their level is a HUGE factor. That and the fact you’re missing all your talents which are also game changers. I think it’s pretty unfair to join a game as a low level then just expect everyone to make up for it by carrying your weight. You can be the best player in the universe but when you’re level 20 and level 4’s join games… it’s not fun. It’s just clear that people want a free win without having to work for it themselves.

I’ll thank myself lucky for never coming across this.

I have both Bardin and Kerillian at 30, Saltz and Sienna at 15, and Kruber at 10. I do NOT want to have to open a thousand boxes per character in order to increase their power level. The account wide item level is a good thing, otherwise it would take months to get multiple characters up, especially for a casual gamer that only has a few hours a week to play games.

That is fine and if you aren’t comfortable with more of a challenge then I actually thank you for this. I hate feeling like I have to carry people that are higher level than me, let alone being the highest level in the match and carrying people when i’m only level 10. However, this doesn’t apply to everyone. I started Saltzpyre on champ at level 1. He already had 310 hero power when he started because all his items were maxed, and I had no problems keeping up and winning consistently. Not having health on kill is annoying but you just need to play more carefully.

yea, I’m fine with carrying my friends, but that’s mostly because I know I can trust them to be careful making my time to boost them easy, but the amount of random lowbies that jump in and don’t even know how to block or jump into Champion at level 15 in a map that they allegedly never played yet, is a big no
