Path of Redemption Update, Coming Late April 2024

So if changin gender will be not possible can you make it so characters of the same archetype share progression and inventory, so i don’t need to level up female zealot for example, just to enjoy voicelines?

UPD: ok, already was answered.

Also if there will be penances you need to do on specific map while not being able to choose map freely - big oof.

As much as this is cool new stuff, this won’t make me boot up the game.

A proper itemization rework however…

so basically 1 new special, 1 new condition, and a penance system, which I don’t give a single f about. in 6 months… this… this is quite meh.

interestingly another hd2 comparison. they give every update like in 95% fixes that everyone needs and handling main concerns. and I see here for a year the same amount of minor crap I don’t care about or didn’t even experienced at all. while huge, main problems got ignored.

another letdown. wake me up after a year.

I mean … its nice.
Still no word of crafting, map changes, balance direction etc…
But at least you can look cooler while you waste your time as plasteel/dockets go down the drain and brick another weapon base which you lucked on.

In general, there is an excellent thing in this announcement that you are unlikely to have noticed. For myself personally, I discovered this forum, I read the comments and write them myself - and this makes me feel better, no matter how bad the patch is, etc.
It’s a pleasure to communicate with you, thanks to FS for at least this good thing

Will all the old penances still be obtainable?

Elsewhere, Strawhat has said no penance progression will be lost.

Ah, good to know thanks. Now all I want right now is the ability to adjust the order of my operatives and I’ll be happy.

The only thing I’ll add is that you guys should be keeping us in the dark less. Victor, Bjorn, please show us the emperor’s light more often.

If you’re on PC and down with mods, there’s a mod for that: Reorder Characters at Warhammer 40,000: Darktide Nexus - Mods and community

Will have to check it out, was not aware mods were a thing that was allowed.

So we get updated pennances to grind for more free cosmetics. Okay cool.

Some additional character customization options. Okay cool if you don’t like your original character choices.

We’re getting a new enemy. Sounds neat, but I’m not sure how much differentiation a grenade-tossing enemy who leaves a toxic green cloud offers over an existing enemy who tosses grenades and leaves some orange flames, but I guess we’ll see.

New mission condition, okay.

All good stuff, but if that’s the ultimate output of almost 6 months of top-secret comms-blackout classified content creation, it’s a bit wonky. There’s a lot of dev effort going into making a sticker book for collecting outsourced cosmetic assets while core gameplay functionality issues around things like itemization and crafting go untouched. Fingers crossed we hear more on those soon.

Oh yea! Fully allowed! And there’s some absolutely amazing stuff out there, including an on-server solo mode with normie bots and progression/material collecting and another self-hosted solo mode where you can use your own characters as bots (via a second mod) but there is no progression/materials.

Edit: and here’s the official post on the modding policy: Darktide Modding Policy

“Our new content is getting you to play the old content for cosmetics that will look awful and will have clipping issues, which we will hotfix 5 weeks later, breaking all the mods that actually make our game playable and some meaningless titles that no one cares about.” There i fixed your “community post” that got delayed for over a month

I’ve been playing with mods since they’ve been available, and I don’t think this has ever happened?

oh my god this is GREAT

He’s referring to having to patch the game for mods to work, which is by far the stupidest reason to complain about patches. For some reason, lots of this on steam forums.
