I know no one knows, but any intelligent guesses based on workflow of coding or just bets? This week, next week, next month, next year?
2021 or Spring 2022 or September 2022 or November 2022 or December 2022.
On discord Catfish said that “it looks like weeks, not months”, and since this is FatShark that means months, not weeks.
My guess is another performance + crafting patch in two weeks, console version four weeks after that, small content patch coming another two weeks later.
Console might come later if they did put it of for the moment, though with crafting out of the way it could become more central work
For the game to be even remotely close to what the vast majority of the community want will take 6-9 months. Whatever happens between now and then is at the mercy of the chaos gods. I.e. whether fatshark actually have the vaguest plan to deliver anything they’ve promised. Sienna next career? Summer 2024?
Maybe the end of darktide will not come… We have lot of preachers around, it doesn’t mean all what they predict will happen…
Also, maybe the OP would like, like me, to get the new crafting options.
That’s not cause it doesn’t fit your wishes that all think like you.
Darktide won’t end, they’ll likely keep going. They supported VT1 when it had something like 3oo concurrent players.
Whether it continues in the same vein and only has a playerbase of 3-7k is the future question. Vermintide 2 does just fine with this amount but surely FS wanted something different with their dedicated servers, “live service”, and so on.
I actually hope the vast majority of players who brought the game end up with a game they enjoy, I jsut don’t think it’ll be soon™ or Next Week ™
I’m not entirely sure what imaginary idea you have about me, but if “get the new crafting option” means to understand the new crafting changes, I have over a thousand hours now, so at this point at least I should understand most of the max stats are just diminishing return? I already started to collect sub 300 greys right after finishing reading the blog(figure why), I also have multiple thousands of hours on other horde shooters and competitive shooters combined, and I have a group able to consistently farm on damnation under 25min, so you better believe me as one of the players to complain about locking perks or blessings the least.
All of us here have hope, either with negative or positive attitudes we are all passionate, if nobodys active on this forum then the game is truly dead lol, I am pretty sure Darktide would not end up like back4 blood.
One of the players I hope ends up with a game they enjoy is me! I have hope FS will pull it out of the bag, just not very quickly that’s all. Maybe the cost of the servers will outstrip the income this time though.
I have the idea that, as you asked when the update will come, it was cause you wanted this update…
Well I hope we can be many to enjoy it.
That’s the reason they went with the Premium shop I suspect, for continuos dev time and server cost
Not quickly at all for sure but I think you will keep enjoying this game at the end, because if let’s forget about crafting, subpar gears actually provide better challenge, max gears are there for farming more quickly in my view, moreover even without any new contents the core gameplay is already the best in the market, that alone should be enough for some ppl to come back from time to time. So ultimately what drives this game forward is the seasonal contents mimicking any other mmo, this is the only way they can continue to make money, traditional publishing new games as many as possible model doesn’t work as well as before nowadays.
Well, probably none of us want the update later than sooner right…
Don’t forget versus
I have such a hard time wrapping my head around how they ever expected crafting to be done by end of December with what they’re saying now.
Now it’s “hopefully” weeks?
For the game to be close to what was advertised it’s gonna take significantly longer than that.
Not sure if it’s gonna matter- if they release it with locked perks and blessings in crafting.
