Next major patch when?

So that was the extent of our update renaissance? Its so hard to root for this game man. Why even have the blog if its weeks away.

Cause this week we should get a new blog…
it is better to show us what will come, cause we, as a community, asked for communication.
So they communicate…

Love the game but am very disappointed with the length of time its taking to add basic features and squash glaring issues/bugs. Despite what the “letter to our Players” implies Its seems clear to me they are not prioritizing the current released version of darktide and have nearly all of the studio beavering away on the xbox release. That is unless there is a very big content patch also releasing as an actual move of good faith.

I think it’s a given they are working very hard on the xbox release. One hopes they are also working on significant content to be launched alongside the xbox release, so they can at least try to make it look like a finished game and a ‘please come back to PC’ patch.

Hard to know though, because presumably pausing development on PC to focus on Xbox is partly about keeping the codebase stable, so you aren’t trying to port over a constantly changing base - though of course additional maps etc could concievably be made alongside it without messing up the core code.

Here, what was posted yesterday

Yeah Aqshy has been moved into a permanent promotional / PR role. I guess we shouldn’t read into everything that happens with the most negative eyes, but fact is Darktide no longer has a dedicated CM. Make of that what you will, I suppose.

Looks like we’re going to get some info this week at least, though comm-links were defined as ‘news about news’, so it might not contain much information.

Has there been any real indication that they’re working on the X-box release? Quote from the open letter post can be found below.

I won’t bother chasing it down because it was said on discord or reddit, but they have certainly stated that xbox was “a focus, but not the only focus”. Also, just previous release history from FatShark has had them working hard on console after release, only releasing minor hotfixes for PC during that time period. You’ll notice that ever since new years we have only had small hofixes (changing numbers around, some crashfixes) for PC. It sure doesn’t look like the output of a 150 person studio, does it?

I agree with you on this…
For the sentence that Xbox was not the only focus, is has been said before the open letter.
I wait for the next patch, that seems a major patch, but from what I have seen, what we have got cannot be the work of an entire studio…

I think there’s an annoying thing called “contractual obligations” that have an impact on release dates on the XBox. Without negotiations I don’t think FS can just abitrarily delay the game launch… however… with it being such a catastrophe of a launch on PC Microsoft might have been lenient.

Moving CM’s away from DT at a time when community relations are sketchy at best seems like a bit of an odd thing to do, especially if BOTH CM’s are now Vermintide-focused.

Big Sigh if Communication slow to a trickle for DT, although I’d go without comms if it meant something fundamental in the game was actually fixed. Map selection, Character Development, levelling grind, weapons locks removed, optimising load times, changing Monsters to be interesting to fight, changing penances, changing the … oh man.,… you get the idea.

We’ve had 3 months of ‘whats to come’ with crafting. I really don’t think continually making pointless posts that take absolutely no responsibility for the state of the game and its complete lack of finish makes up for that. Three months with a major support system of the game ‘coming soon’, one that was coming in December according to them. Did I make any of this up? People are upset because even if Fat Shark was deliberately piloting this game into the ground they would be doing better than they are now. The entire design is malicious and they have no desire to even dump it on us in a reasonable time frame. Or an acceptable one, because 3 months of ‘its right around the corner guys December!’ actually made 99% of people furious. Hence this being an actual deserved 28% overall rating. At this point my copium cup is empty and I’m going to stop wasting my time coping othewise, its just aggravating to attempt to engage with this product. This game needs at minimum 1 year to be in a playable state and we should just come back then. It is truly pathetic.

This is a joke, right?

I don’t think… good new is that we will get a communication, bad is that the CM will work for Vermintide…

Well before posting on this forum you should first calm down, go take breath outside and then, maybe, post.
About your beautiful post… You know that there is a button that permits you to ignore me? I advice you to use it. I think what I want and you have no right to censor me or dictate what I am allowed to think… this is not communism here.

You are angry at Fatshark? that’s your right. However, you don’t own the truth.
From what I saw on steam, people complained about the fact that the game was unfinished.
You say 99% are furious… then why 54% of all evaluations are good? Oh, yes you can check the recent reviews, but you said ALL. And no, sorry, 46% is not ALL.
29 480 reviews are positives… that’s not just a mistake…

If you’re really mad, take a break and play something else.

Sidenote: my steam review is, until we get the crafting, a thumb down.

This thread is about the next major patch and what goes on. I think we have well understood that you dislike the state of this game. This doesn’t give the right to be aggressive.

Now, as I don’t want to argue with such a disrespectful person, I put you on my ignore list. Please, do the same.

My friend, my buddy, my pal. In the three months since launch (and we could go back all the way to beta if we wanted, because there has been no other actual content since then either) literally all they’ve been able to do is adjust some numbers on a spreadsheet and “release” two weapons that were already in the game but hidden for… reasons. If you really still think there is going to by anywhere close to the level of change that is necessary to save the game in the next 6 months, I have no idea what to tell you. Even a year isn’t going to get them anywhere near to where they should have been at launch if they keep going the way they have been.

The fact that we are now halfway through goddamned February and they’ve still done absolutely nothing, other than a corporatespeak “we’re sorry” letter, has absolutely destroyed any faith in Fatshark or hope for improvement that I had.

Fatshark, why are you making it so goddamned hard for me to love you? Just let me fooking love you, damnit!

In 3 months they’ve managed to put out 2 weapons, 1 from pre release footage and a map that was yet another retread of an existing map. Amazingly I am the one being negative here, no wonder that bootlick needs to alter his ignore list to create his preferred reality. You can’t leave low review scores for unfinished games because the crafting isn’t in yet guys just wait. I’m the one being disrepectful of Fat Shark’s 3 month vacation since the game came out. Its a greedy minimum viable product they won’t call early access. Despite being so early in the development stage still they can’t even deliver prototypes of coming game systems. This is why after 3 months the game is the exact same.

Catfish says (on discord) that comm-link is tomorrow, and the comm-link will contain an ETA for the patch.

was about to post it :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

“next week”
