New Character or Classes for the expansion?

Except that we don’t adress only weapon. It’s just that footknight kinda cover the role a bretonnian would have. That doesn’t dismiss a Bretonnian as a possible char. But it would be harder to not have another Kruber (as he covers the same archetypes a Bretonnian could have)

An high elves mages would cover an energy type of magic (which is kinda either healing or beam, like sienna already does).
Healing in the game wouldn’t really work (could make the game a bit too easy). Beams are … well… beam, either light, fire, water, storm, or anything. The archetype should cover a gameplay that is not already existing.
The lore of metal cover a more unique type of mage that doesn’t look like Sienna with another element.

For the lizard/skink. It could be cool. But it would require vastly differents models and size to cover the 3 careers. (which could or could not be a problem depending of the architecture)

I think Azyr would bring a very unique wind into gameplay. I can’t remember the user who has the gif attached to their account-card, but there’s this delicious scene of an Elven mage bringing down a comet on a battlefield… just found them. Haxorzist! Gotta love that video.

Not that it’s realistic for Vermintide 2, but I certainly do want to play as that mage sometime :stuck_out_tongue:

I agree with you that a couple, like storm and light, might look similar to fire or have near the same effects, but that’s still up to the Devs. If they can make a different wind unique and come up with unique abilities like you did for metal, they could craft an awesome arsenal.

I also agree that it would be hard to add the Brettonian with Kruber already there, but I think it is doable, again, with creativity. However, I think you are right to assume it would require some effort to not make it a duplicate.

Yeah that’s why I say the Metal wizard is probably the best choice.
Of course, we agree that the others chars (even Bretonnian) could be done with time. But to begin, and have a various “realistic” (as in “playable”) effects in this game, I really think the Gold order is the best way.

It’s mostly gameplay first and story second as to choose which character could fit.
There are really good ideas like “This character would be a blast”, and I agree. An orc or a vampire would be awesome for example. But yeah, it needs to bring something new gameplay wise and something different than others careers. Something unique for the team.

I see a wind user (Azyr) could “manipulate” the flow of the game, bumping enemies and all. But 3 careers around this ? Don’t think I can think about them. (but maybe we don’t need 3 careers with each character after all)

I agree, the metal wizard has some pretty awesome immediate options available.

I think Azyr could be done with some thought. I mean, there isn’t a “Nuke an area” career skill yet, is there? We could, very literally, have an Azyr career that is an artillery-piece and calls down meteors  again, unlikely, but fun for me to think about.

I think a defense/offense/team-support kit for a Hysh/Ghyran mage would be equally as unique, using shockwaves/shields/stuns/blinds? A life mage could use a ‘root’ effect to trap enemies or to reduce enemy movement speed. They could have an massive cool-down ult that could straight-up remove a wound from a player or something like that (that seems really imbalanced as I say it, but I’m just trying to be imaginative here).

Needless to say, a new character would be cool… we’ll just have to wait and see what comes up in the expansions as time goes on!

Don’t Forget about The Warrior Priest yo

Hi all!
I’d like to see a new Character too.
One problem I have with the Bretonians is just the general lack of ranged weapons.
And with magic we need to make sure that we don’t create a Sienna Clone.

Story wise I think that it’s better to settle for a noname Character. It way better since it’s harder to create something lore breaking this way.
Otherwise basically everything could work as long as it doesn’t create a conflict between an existing Character.

An Orc for example would actually fit rather nicely in the story. Sure they like to kill things but hey, we have a Vermintide. Ratmen, Beatsmen and even Chaos lingering around waiting to get slaughtered. An Orc’s wet dream. As far as I’m aware there were even Orcs in the Dogs of War rooster so they seem willingly to work with or races together as long as you provide them with enough cannon fodder to kill.

Game play is the rather bigger problem. i know Orcs use Bows in TT but did they use other ranged weapons?
High elves or vampires would use magic of course, but would Kruber really let an living undead near him?

My personal favorite would be (pleas don’t hurt me!) a Halfling.

Melee weapons would be: Scythe, spear and shield, two-handed hammer, dual knives, two-handed a big butcher knife.

Ranged Weapons would be: Bow, Sling Throwing knives, Handguns. You could even add a grenade variant of the halfling hotpot which while it would do only low damage it could disable the armor effect so you could cleave armored targets with other weapons.

Classes would be something like Scout, Lord of the Harvest and Master Thieve.

Ok now I’m ready for my beating for even suggesting this^^

I love the idea of a Heavens caster. It was being mentioned - notably, that’s one of the lores that Skinks can learn on the tabletop (along with Beasts!). But regarding models; if you did want a Lizardman character, a Skink could fulfill all roles and just use the same rigging for them all, just with a different skin, like how careers (presumably) work for each career for a specific character now.

Regarding a metal caster; that would be awesome, but I’d be curious how his spells would fulfill the role of being damaging ranged attacks while also distinguishing him from how Sienna plays. Debuffs enemies it hits? That’d be cool, but only useful against the most powerful of enemies like Chaos Warriors or monsters (who technically don’t generally have armor to rust, aside from the Stormfiend). Incidentally, Fire magic has a few spells that can summon swords - the Sanguine Sword spell among them. That’s actually a new staff I’d love to see - it’d shoot blade-like shots on the light attack and create flying swords that hover around her with the charged attack (more the longer you hold it), and doing it again would fire them off one at a time - the first staff you’d wanna have charged BEFORE going into combat.

At the heretical idea above about evil characters; honestly, that’d be a really cool game idea for being set in the Warhammer world - people who are corrupted and know they’re doomed, but wanna put up the good fight anyway. Similar to Vermintide, but as others said . . . it wouldn’t work with our current party.

Again, as others have said; I would really hope any new character would bring interesting new mechanics along with them. With development time being focused on them, specifically, perhaps they’d even have some really strange new mechanics. I’d love to see particular mechanics brought into game - we’re kinda seeing the devs starting to experiment with things like that with the new weapons we know are coming in Winds of Magic - throwing axes that can (presumably) be retrieved, the Billhook that can pull enemies closer . . . I just hope they keep coming up with new ideas like that!

Against my better judgement, and personal preference that anything that takes away from the UB5 is going to silly… AND… the fact people are making some truly stupefying suggestions I’m going to pile in.

The only real missing ROLE from the group is a dedicated combat medic, someone who buffs and heals his allies rather than being a DPS or TANK, and can revive much faster, defend much better and mitigate damage for himself and his allies. His ult could be something along the line of Merc’s restoring Temp Health or a stealthy little snack-scoffing session and in the style of a ranger he could drop tiny little HP boosts in the form of chicken drumsticks or small meat pies.

I give you, the halfling cook

Dual wielding a frying pan and a rolling pin, or a metal steiner in each hand he could be the guy that stops quick wipes by keeping his team mates fighting when they might have downed. Also I insist on a saucepan upside down on his head as a hat, and the corresponding saucepan lid used as a buckler.

Coming onto a publicly available forum and telling people who are also here to post their opinion to “Mind your own business” is absolute comedy gold. The lack of self awareness is staggering. Well done.

In better quality:

I agree, both Blue and Gold wizards are good choices. But my personal favorite is a Shadow Mage.
Although I’m seriously thinking about @Argonaut14’s Halfling suggestion  Somebody needs to cook for our heroes!

That IS the first Halfling idea I’ve liked. XD Given that there’s never been a truly heroic-level Halfling character, this could be the first. I hope he would make allusions to cannibalism, too. XD Halflings are known to do that in Warhammer . . .
