Mods should not stop FS from implementing QoL updates, but certain mods should be taken down cause they break the current ToS (the one used for shirtless, and Vaccum capsule), while other should remain simply as they currently are (Drip and attachments)
Enemy healthbars mod just feels right in this game. It makes the game flow better and wouldnāt be an issue if the game was more challenging to begin with.
Let it be a toggle option for the masochists. (no kink shaming ofc)
Not having healthbar isnāt about masochism, itās just that it tale out a certain scale of realism (if there even is any). Gamification and all that
Need a giant usb pickaxe peripheral to smash my screen with, mouse and keyboard breaks my IMMERSION
The only thing Fatshark should do is make every QoL mod baseline in the game:
- Perspectives
- crosshair_remap
- crosshairs_fix
- CThruShields
- DynamicCrosshair
- FullAuto
- NumericUI
- PreferAuric
- StimmsPickupIcon
- true_level
- contracts_overlay
- FilterTrash
- ChatBlock
- InventoryStats
- DisableScreenEffects
- RecolorBossHealthBars
- Ration Pack
- FoundYa
- show-current-penance-stat
- PenancesForTheMission
- AlternateGrenadeIcons
- Inventory2D
- guarantee_weapon_swap
- guarantee_ability_activation
So, one thing that is both good and bad about the game is that modders/the community (thank you so much for doing so) must fix things in it that Fatshark should have included when it was released.
It is interesting that mods can fix swapping issues - āguarantee_weapon_swapā and āguarantee_ability_activationā - when Fatshark appears to be unable to do so in their own game, and in terms of āFullAuto,ā someone on Fatsharkās team should have thought about how oneās tendons might feel after manually right-clicking for 10s, 100s, or hundreds of hours.
In my opinion, all of the mods listed above are necessary for the game.
and they got rid of it on release for a reason. you not understanding that the devs understand how to balance their game is typical of the forums but it doesnāt mean you had a point.
Personally VT2 had it right IF they kept spending time sanctioning QoL mods. Separate servers for modded and unmodded makes sense but since FS canāt get enough basic stuff in that people want like weapon customization and crosshair fixes, better to leave it as is.
They should offer a player hosted server option maybe. P2P with unrestricted mods.
I came in to correct something, thatās all
You can vote for multiple choices, I voted for 2 options but you could also vote for every option.
not onlythe tendons in your fingers, but i hate having my mouse die for the emperor because iām so busy clicking single shots when i could just hold the button down and the weapon fires normally.
everyone is free to use mods, and stop acting like this is a pvp game. thanks to the modders who improve the game for free with plenty of little additions fatshark didnāt think of. just consider buying weapons for example. with the base game, iād have to load into each of my 5 characters, run to the shop and go through a list. with modular menu buttons or psych ward i can do that all from the menu, order shop items as i want, see what blessings i already have, go directly to hadron, sell items right there, check my penances and start a mission. anything else seems so clumsy, i doubt iād still be enjoying darktide without these little helpers.
Mods should only be banned where they negate or override intentional design limitations. IE, where they can reasonably be argued to be a cheat.
QoL mods should be open to all, given FSās refusal to invest in them.
all of mymods are now qol mods. i tried the weapon mods for a few weeks but ended up uninstalling it. if fatshark just put in hud customization i could get away without using mods at all. i have a few others like teammate highlighting and ammo/med pack counter but thatās about it.
Is FS maths sir. ![]()
try that nintendo wii shacky stick thingie. attack some metal on top and whack away.
i mean people beat dark souls with bongo drums soā¦
truth be told i briefly thought about having a small pickaxe as a āconversation enhancement toolā ready in my car, having used one briefly for once in a decade gardening chores.
ogryn gameplay kicked in immediatly combined with a grin and a āwhat ifā¦ā ![]()
love those russian dashcams when road ragers pull the strangest stuff out of the trunk to go beat each other up(ok some straightout ācheatā with good olĀ“ ak47 right from the start)
pickaxe would be a first ![]()
oof.
Yeah umm, Harridas. Iām sorry. Seriously, I donāt know what was wrong with me yesterday. Theres no excuse, I was pretty damn rude to you. Sorry.
This is a Coop PvE game, where half the selling point is e-cosplay. As such, Iām not terribly concerned with what people do with their mods. Thereās no stakes, nothing on the table, and nothing to compete over. Audio cues, health bars, etc, if that just makes scrub players play better, thatās fine with me, while weapon customization and the like is probably something that just should have been in the game to begin with.
Very cool I think I can elaborate without issue now.
I came in to dispute or correct the specific claim that āthey never intendedā for health bars to be visible (at all times), showing pre-release footage of the game to show that this is a feature that Fatshark developed and had in-game during development to suggest that they did intend for it to be a feature at some point while developing the game. They decided against it in the end and I wonāt dispute that, thatās simply true. Worth mentioning is that the Meat Grinder (aka training area), the only area you can normally see healthbars, wasnāt accessible in any of the betas that I had played & seen and only became accessible to players once the pre-order beta started in 17th of November 2022.
I think itās comparable to saying that FS never intended for players to be able to customize parts of their weapon (not talking about crafting), which very clearly was a feature that Fatshark developed (evidenced by the modās existence), teased (1) (2) and scrapped during development.
