Skill is not directly related to level or hours played. I’m often surprised by people who I’d assume are newer, due to portraits etc. And I’m regularly disappointed by people who are evidently very experienced yet still lack awareness.
And you still can: you never have to interact with the people saying that stuff. You can just ignore them, or if it’s really bad just leave.
I’ve met only a couple of toxic people in Darktide, and I just ignored them until the match is over.
I don’t think it’s fair that just because you’ve had a couple of bad experiences with True Level that you would want stuff like Hub Hotkeys and Inventory UI banned.

You know, I just want to play the game as its intended. And not have to put up with people intruding into my business. But hey, you don’t see me starting threads trying to get mods banned anymore.
If you cast your mind back a year, when the true level mod first released I asked for its removal. It wasn’t. I’ve just suffered since then.
But sure whatever, as long as folks are having fun!

Well then I’m a bit confused with what the problem is? I understand that level isn’t a direct correlation with skill but it’s still something interesting to see, and I personally like True Level because I can see how much I’ve played each of the 4 classes.

People are going to be rude. If it’s not your level, it’ll be your weapons. If it’s not your weapons, it’ll be your build. If it’s not your build, it’ll be how you play. Etc. Etc.
Even completely removing communication wouldn’t fully solve this problem because people will still act like a holes in game.
It sucks that you’ve had such a negative experience with True Level. However I doubt that Mods are what is making those people act like that. And if you are just ignoring them and moving on, which is good, than I don’t understand what the problem is.

The true level mod was where this started. I mean you could argue that the scoreboard mod began this discussion, but the true level mod was where I drew the line.
Remove the ability to see true level? problem solved.
Yeah, maybe one person in this last year complained I was using the newer las-pistol, but I just said “yo, this got high rolls, just testing it” and we were gucchi.

Besides, I’ve not commented on this since it became clear that i’m part of a small number of people. I just threw out my opinion because Flawless engaged me. My initial post on this thread wasn’t even calling for their removal, just stating I think mods are trash and for complete noobs who can’t play without (I’m kidding.)
Well then I think it’s a bit weird that you say you want all Mods banned instead of just True Level?
Yooo what? Nonono, I want Fatshark to make up their mind. This middle ground we have right now is no good. They made the final choice in VT2 and it was for the best. Some mods incorporated, others required the modded servers. Fine by me!
I’m not calling for all mods to be banned. My vote on this survey is simply expressing my complete disdain for mods in Darktide.
But seriously, I’m not asking for your private mods, that change how you see the game to be removed.
In the end, my final opinion on it is that Fatshark should come to a conclusion on the mods and then we can all move on.

Dude is just spreading misinformation, we saw health bars on elites, specials & monsters in gameplay footage before the game even released. And health bars both currently and pre-release become visible once that enemy’s been damaged.
It’s subjective but imo it definitely is, I’ve got a thousand hours in the game and my total level (all characters combined) is almost the exact same as my hour count lol (1045)
Skill is 100% correlated with hours played. There is no way around that. You will get better at any thing in life the longer you do it.
I think the word you are searching for is causation. Whether or not skill is directly influenced by time can be up for debate.
I would expect a lvl 200 character to be better than a lvl 1 character. That may not be true all the time (like you pointed out), but there should be a general correlations that way. Other than that, I think I see your point and I’d agree. At the end of the day it really just doesn’t matter

I said they don’t expect you to see enemy health at all times, you show prerelease footage. The irony of your statement. Get this pal, enemy health isn’t visible at all times in the released version of the game. Now put it together in your head.

I don’t play the game after a patch if my qol mods are broken. The UI is just terrible, it takes so many loading screens for nothing. And I’ve met plenty of people in the game that shared the same experience.
Its crazy to go after the few remaining players playing legit in online games while every pvp game is plagued with rodents using double pc setups running undetectable hardware cheats.
I have nothing vs the OP, of course, it’s a general speech… but to me threads like this should not even exist. That’s a coop game, first. Second, there are tons of much more important things
Currently mods are probably what are making the game still alive. Let players have fun
