So I thought I’d never interact with this forum ever again but apparently this is the “appropriate” way to communicate with the devs.
Honestly, Fatshark if you want us to stop complaining just let us have modded realm. Then you can focus on your new content that the game “desperately needs”. While modders can fix the incomplete parts.
I’m going to somehow get slack for making this post from forum warriors.
Not that the devs seem to cater to players that are fed up with a lot of thing, but
having a modded realm would make your lives so much easier…
The issue with modded realm or mods in general is that they kinda suppress feedback, many people would be complaining about issues that mods already fixed. im willing to bet if MMT didnt exist there would be enough pressure to convince people about the importance of map selection.
I don’t think it is a solution as it will spread the player base, and console players would be excluded.
Considering both point, I think it will never happen.
how old was vermintide when it got a modded realm? fatshark might want to wait with server mods until darktdide reaches a similar point in its life, probably when it has been sold to every platform and cosmetic revenue is small.
Sure it won’t come before…
What would a modded realm allow modders to do that they can’t already do?
well for once i guess custom modifiers that up the difficulty not only one notch but to infinity and beyond.
I II V E G but every enemy is a full health boss
on a serious note, i´d be fine having a reasonable I II V E G ++ to prove myself it can be done even at the cost of “no progression” (what progression anyways, since i got every tool if want by now, it´s all for the thrills and see how far i can push my own skill)
map selection, fix spawns, balance patches…
This as live:

Or this:

I also miss twitch/hypertwitch mode. So much fun to be had.
it doesn’t matter. vermintide was peer to peer, the host was the one running the server and was the one in charge of making sure the mods didn’t crash everything. darktide is offically-hosted servers only (even “private” games) opening modded server space is, for fatshark, a huge amount of energy and money to spend on something that would only divide their limited hosting space.
i doubt most of the people playing this game hosted private servers themselves very long, but i know the kind of situation fatshark is in and modded servers are never going to look like a good use of their time for darktide.
like this reply if you think this idea sucks and Fatshark should spend their resources elsewhere
the ability to increase the difficulty, adding new talents, playing with more players, like 32 ogryns, selecting the map/special condition you want, being able to play locally peer to peer connection, so that online functionalities do not depend by the servers.
there are many things that it would be possible to do, just for the fun and memes.
sadly current mods are still strict, while having a modded realm it could open up more possibilities about gameplay. we could see even bosses that normally don’t spawn in missions like the assassination ones as regular bosses.
but for example, i’d like to play True Duo or Trio with friends in darktide with mods that do increase the difficulty or so. or sometimes just playing with more than 4 players while also increasing the difficulty.
people are sleeping about this but modded realm would be nice to have for extra good gameplay content, especially with friends with high hardest challenges and so on.
forgot things like, veteran being able to use thunder hammer, psyker using bolter, zealot using plasma gun, many things are possible if we would have modded realm just for fun.
Does this not already exist via Solo Play, Will of the Emperor, and others like Hardtide? You can host your own instance and customize virtually any modifier or setting you like or according to certain presets akin to the Onslaught and Deathwish of old.
But then I haven’t used them in forever. Are they no longer available?
The word is “flack” or sometimes spelled “flak”, not “slack”. Wasn’t sure if it was a typo.
The point of the modded realm seems to be to basically have more fun without Fatshark’s control.
If modders are gonna make community events there, create more difficult conditions etc., then there’s no need to wait for Fatshark to wake up and realize THEY need to do those things.
Good idea, probably not gonna happen though.
you may have missed that, you can’t do this with friends.
sadly you cannot host games solo play with friends.
if it was possible to play with friends with such difficulties, it would be cool.
there is “unspeakable” which is something similar to deathwish and more harder.
the problem of how it works mods now, is that you can’t host games so that others can join, while in a real modded realm, people could join.
obviously with no progress (just retaining the progress you have unlocked from official realm) just like VT2 worked.
I would also really like to see a modded realm. I miss things like Cata3 and Deathwish from Vermintide. I still enjoy the game, but the inability to choose maps and the lack of appropriate difficulty options has really hurt its longevity for me.
