I’ve run nearly 100 missions on my Psyker and have received 2 Staves and maybe 3 swords. Melks almost never has either in his shop and I check every day. I have max-leveled the other classes too- same story.
Are we supposed to be gambling/crafting them? Seems like a really poor and tone-deaf way to increase our playtime if so.
Melk keeps wanting to offer my Psyker all the perfect sniper weapons my Veteran is missing out on, and my Veteran is getting a selection of all the great combat axes my Zealot would love to play with.
Why yes, these are all awkward expressions of Mobile/F2P-model item monetization and psychology hafmisted into a game that doesn’t actually function around those mechanisms. Fatshark has never explained why it thinks generating that gambling frustration, with no outlet except getting mad a the game and developers, is a good idea.
Because whoever made the decision read all these articles about how retention gets players to spend, but probably didn’t look at any real-world examples. Even gacha games with their money-sucking know to give players what they want sometimes.
