I grind out 1.5 million credits worth of greys to get a single weapon and still don’t get anything worth while. For noobs it makes sense, but with over 1.5k hours and penance score over 4000, getting 309-342 base items constantly is annoying AF and a waste.
They could tie the penance system to the armoury- make it so when over a certain score, the base offering is higher.
I know some folk use a Mod to make the shop better, but that shouldn’t have be the case.
Please dear god no. Having better item acquisition gated behind an arbitrary achievement system sounds awful. There’s already cosmetics as a reward for that which is an appropriate way to incentivise that system.
Honestly it should just be improved at base, but if it had to be tied to something I’d prefer it was tied to total level (there’s a mod that calculates over levels based on total xp gained so I’m sure FS can do something similar). Tying it to total level across all your characters would have the nice bonus of making leveling secondaries less annoying since you could start getting good weapons early. VT2 had a similar system where the best gear you had across any character scaled what you would get even on level 1 characters.

Sadly, although the penance system is good in part, they added way to many toxic personal ability penances which mean you don’t play at your best when you have to, to complete them. And they still have the “private match” penances which at this stage is just lazy AF. Remove them or put them in game normally with more optimal criteria ffs.
Tied to overall score of all characters would be rewarding to those of us who play a LOT.
