Fully support more customization. :+1:

just throwing this out there, before fatshark recreates the dust scenario they did in VT2, where people have maxxed out resources and nothing to spend them on. Fatshark could make it so that players could re-customize their outfits at the cost of diamantine and plasteel.

The ability to recolour parts of cosmetics with shades of Citadel paints and apply some pre-approved symbols would be amazing.

Like well… Space Marine 2.

Perhaps have it as an unlock feature/perhaps just have it freely available.

Now Space Marines are literally ideal for this, it’s one of their many selling points for new players to the miniatures and painting hobby but would be fantastic in DT.
One can but dream.

Character customization and the standard gameplay loop should be darktide’s endgame.

Everyone sees the for the drip end results, but I feel like most don’t know the customization possible… I may have to post more of it here.

Oh no it’s back again!

Now when they fixed crafting, customization became main point of critique from community. I have high hopes that devs will do at least something in that regard

Perhaps they can sell costumes with “default colors”, and sell other colors and patterns for it separatly, with ability to buy colors and patterns with in game resources. This will be great middle ground. You still need to spend real money for the set, but you can unlock patterns and colors in game

I wish I would share your hope.

But as I said about weapons:

When I see that, I have no hope that they will bring us something good.

The green military weapons skins are actually sold, one by one, at 700 aquilas each. I will never buy that at such prices. This is clearly a try to steal my money.
(yes “steal” cause it is clearly far away the right price. Cosmetics are sold with too high prices… but this time, this is worse than this.)

I add that I was not believing that FS would remove the locks. So, maybe if the community is enough vocal on this, and if the sales are not a success, then maybe they could go for this.
But if it sells well, I don’t see a reason why they would go for that.

Crafting update is the main reason for me to think they listen community feedback.
So maybe the will listen here too (It is good that this thread is alive)

Personally I even dont mind the pricing, after all it is their game and their shop. What makes me sad is inability to buy what I want in color I want

However they ‘listen’, it’s clearly through a process involving refusing to listen for at least 1.5 years before they finally bend enough to fix the problems they created.

I have a feeling Fatshark’s devs are very much in the ‘boardroom controls everything’ stage of getting bought out. Only way to explain the level of stupidity involved is if a gaggle of MBAs kept refusing to listen to reason.

Pretty much. It’s why I don’t spend money, even on things that I think look cool. Nothing would match.

That’s a pretty fair request. Technically Ten Cent/FatShark already got their money when the cosmetics was purchased, shouldn’t be an issue to let players repaint cosmetics they own with paints from other cosmetics they own. It would do a lot for adding more cosmetic variety.

Just want to throw my full support behind this idea.

We’ve all been here on these forums, complaining about how the premium cosmetics are overpriced slop. Well, one thing that would change that opinion would be more freedom in what we can do with our purchases. Mixing and matching styles with colours? Yes please.

I’m sick to death of seeing premium cosmetics just being recolours and slight adjustments made to the exact same outfits, over and over.

If the designers can’t be bothered to make interesting, varied cosmetics, why should I buy any?

However, as the OP says, you give us the freedom to take our owned camouflage patterns and colours, and apply them to any owned cosmetic items? Now we’re talking!

They’d have to also un-butcher the cosmetics they have butchered, because they can’t be saved with doodads or palette swaps.

How so? I’ve been able to pallette swap just about everything with for the drip

Open catalog for the store + palette swaps for purchased outfits. Do you like money and happy players Fatshark? You can have both!

I’m more talking about the overall design of the cosmetic being off. For instance, the psyker coat that is based on the 5th edition metal minis, the coat is clipped short, has no physics, sticks to the legs and the fit looks wrong on both body types. Or all the armoured torsos that have no belly armour. Or the psyker cosmetics where they’re rocking 90’s shoulder pads.

it doesn’t match because fitting parts are often in different sets, so you have to buy them all :stuck_out_tongue_winking_eye:

anyway, i’ve bought mostly parts of different sets when i liked them, in total several times the amount i spent on buying the game itself, because i don’t find it much different from painting your miniatures, just less work. however, i mostly use a few costumes per character, and the rest is just there.
