I think most people don’t understand the level of character customization that is currently built into the game, because most people don’t play with any customization mods (and they shouldn’t need to) but what you can do customization wise is actually amazing.
I certainly admit I don’t. And thing is, I’d buy a TON of items if they would just treat us better. I buy a little here and there, but I could afford a fair amount more. But I don’t because RNG and trying to sell me the same thing over and over irritates me.
I should prob buy even less until they get the message, but I’m only human.
Seems likely, even so I’d like to see their bottom line and find out if this crap actually is profitable or if they are pissing people off so much they make less.
Unfortunately, corporations often prioritize profits, and that’s why I’m suggesting they monetize it. Sometimes, a slight change in how they perceive things can make them listen, especially when they see the potential for profit. Personally, I prefer it when everything is accessible for free.
Oh, that’s way more than I imagine, but I feel like they want to be a Bethesda clone. No communication, and modders are left carrying the game on their back.
Business shouldn’t be that lazy, and Fatshark used to have a passion for this.
Yeah, it sometimes is, but I’ve been around serious creatives, and I had a professor (who worked for Robert Rodriguez of Mariachi and Alita Battle Angel) and he told a story that I suspect could apply here. (This wasn’t about a Rodriguez project, I think. He told it in a way as to not give a clue what project it was to cover his butt.)
He was working on SOMETHING as editor. And a producer, high level, had gone to extreme lengths to ‘cut out’ the writer and director and had him editing the thing according to his own idea, and kept saying “I’m saving this project!”
All the while making it worse.
I think, from a million clues, Fat Shark has some goofy person with power who is convinced they just have to stay the course and it’ll all be roses as long as we can’t get the game we want and the game they promised, and no one can get them to listen to reason.
I’d bet 75% of the devs want to fix it, and the goof won’t let them. This might, in part, be why they allow so many mods. It back-doors the goof as much as they can.
