I agreed that the highlight is in cheaty territory, but also that it is realistically a bugfix since FS reasoning is just wrong, as it was with many things
But I also mentioned that UI blessing gives you much more power since you can finally learn how some VITAL blessing interactions work, AND you can see them in game.
Even on damnation with remade HUD I have is sitting below crosshair nicely and I can plop enemies no problem.

Imo they should change opening salvo to apply to the first shot you hit on each enemy (or to any shot dealt to an enemy that is at full health).

To make the feat more intuitive and work more in line with the description, counterfire will now only work against “Scab Shooters”.

The feat is supposed to highlight “all shooters”.
Saying that “all shooters” refers to the enemy name (and not the “shooting” behavior), makes no sense.
- Only one enemy type officially has “shooter” in their name and if the description referred to the enemy name instead of their behavior, it should just say “Scab Shooters” and not “all shooters”.
- The feat does (intentionally) work against one shooting enemy that is called “Dreg Stalker”, so you can not argue that “Scab Stalkers” should not be affected by the feat, because of their name.
Also, since the feat is supposed to be anti ranged (counter fire), it would make no sense to only highlight 1 of the 3 shooter types.
Just like it makes no sense to only highlight 2 of them.
Regular enemies that shoot (aka “shooters”):
- Scab Shooter
- Scab Stalker
- Dreg Stalker
Enemies highlighted by the feat („shooters“ according to FS):
- Scab Shooter

You’ve made good points about opening salvo, technically something you can play around and tune muscle memory for but clearly makes your life much easier and confers an advantage. I do think that’s a relatively rare case though. Most blessings your fundamental game plan doesn’t change much whether they’re active or not. At least I think it’s pretty minor on average. I do get your points though.
Eh I don’t think there being other non mod ways to also get this advantage makes it not still clearly an advantage in mission. This isn’t really the hill I wanna die on either though and I do see your point. As I said originally I ultimately think it’s minor enough to not worry about regardless. That acceptable enough middle ground for you to leave that discussion there?

They can get the log and:
- Ban 48 hours at first attempt
- Ban 1 week at second attempt
- Ban definitely at third attempt
A player that uses such mod knows obviously that he is cheating
Some odd mental gymnastics around this, it clearly provides something that you don’t have normally and is so far acknowledged by devs to be “working as intended” no matter how you splice it, its a cheat. You are not supposed to get duration refresh from these enemy types normally.
Honestly i would be really suprised if simple mod changed this behavior. To me this looks like something that would have server confirmation checks to work properly.
Edit: and so far from quick reading, it only seems to add highlight to said stalker enemies in normal missions, which would still be something that the base ability won’t do but refresh counter definitely would need server checks in my mind to make this function as described.
Yeah I just reacted to outright calling it cheating, which I thought was taking things pretty far. I suppose it depends on reference and viewpoint. I’m sure it’s considered cheating in e-sports, for instance, but when steam-legal overlays exist and monitors with built-in crosshairs exist, it becomes a little silly for me to consider it ‘cheating’ in the wider sense. It is an advantage though for sure on Helbores. Whether it makes up for intentionally bad sights or accidentally poorly designed sights, who knows.
If you check in the posts, it seems that someone said it doesn’t work in mission and that the author said it should.
So the intention is to makes it working in missions.
I hope, like you, that’s not possible. But if it is, there is a problem.And considering that the author seems to be sure it should work in missions, then maybe he succeeded to play with it…
I just hope I am wrong, and so he is, and that it cannot happen. But if it would not be possible, I think we would not have a notice that FS could ban players that use hacks.
I just don’t see it being possible. Like you just cant make servers do X and Y stuff without fatshark allowing for such things. (Aka you should not be able to just spawn beast of nurgles for the fun of it in actual runs because you have creature spawner mod installed)
We really have bigger problems on our hands if small mods such as these start to have such an impact on actual runs.
Why mods like creature spawner work in psykhanium has more likely more to do with the fact that its locally generated and not actually a server hosted instance.
Ah ok, here is my mistake than. I thought dreg stalkers actually named shooters because they act more like scab shooters, however i forget that they swap weapon like scab stalkers. Anyway i agree it’s confusing that scab stalkers not highlighted but still this is a topic to argue with devs and mod is pure cheat.
But the crosshairs you refer to only change aesthetics, not functionality. This mod changes the functionality of crosshairs. Example, changing the plasma’s crosshair to the charge up one shows the EXACT charge level. This provides a tangible difference that no overlay can replicate.
Which should have been the default. Why hellbore can see the charge but plasma cant ?

But to be fair, I think that Fatshark should check the mods available and take them in consideration to integrate them in the game.
The reroll mod is something needed in the game. The counter for until the death would be a great addition (how many times I died cause the icons looked like full… but it was not). And here, the crosshair need several corrections.
