Launcher doesnt open when i press play on steam

Every time i try to load the game, steam says its actively playing, but the launcher/game just, does not appear or show up in any way, and on task manager it says its playing, but as a background process

Ive tried reinstalling the game and verifying the game file integrity
Deleting the darktide directory as a whole, same with GPUDetection.exe
Unticking “run as administrator” on both launcher.exe and darktide.exe
And also adding both darktide and easy anti cheat to my firewall access

Im on windows 11 with an RTX 2060 if that helps at all

Okay uhh, slight update, its started to happen with my other steam games, they all keep starting as a background process instead of an app

At least you know it’s a steam/OS issue and not a Darktide issue.

Assuming you’re on a Windows box Check event viewer. Make sure steam is up to date, check your anti virus. Restart the PC. Look at startup apps in task scheduler see if something else is fighting it. Boot in safe mode. Just remove as many variables as possible and reduce the amount of services and background processes to use process of elimination to see the cause.

Wondering if this is a reoccurring issue, did you have a windows update recently? I’ve seen it give some people trouble for a number of games lately, Darktide included

Uhhh maybe? But im not sure, i usually keep my windows updates on pause so i can manually do it at some point

I mean, all of a sudden my space marine 2 started working again so im happy, darktide is still being stubborn though
