KNOWN ISSUE: Error Loading in to Mourningstar for Players Based in Russia

We’re aware of reports from players in Russia encountering errors when loading in to the Mourningstar.

Our initial investigation shows this may be linked to national network restrictions, which could limit our ability to directly address the issue. It’s worth noting that these restrictions appear to be impacting other products and services as well, and not only Darktide.

That said, please rest assured we’ll do everything within our ability to assist if there’s anything we can resolve on our end.

I’m able to login into my account, reaching character selection, but unable to load into Mourningstar. Getting error 2014 and booted back to character selection.

I have searched through the logs yesterday all evening, trying to solve the problem with my own hands, most consistent problems found were:

  • pong_timeout,
  • stream_removed,
  • no_lobby_found,
  • request timeouts.

These were encountered under different DPI bypass mechanisms, popular in Russia right now.

Log above is clean - no third party software is running there, since that’s how i want to play the game
VPN seems to resolve the issue at the cost of very elevated ping.

I don’t know what you guys can do with our censorship blocking the servers, but you did something before, right?
I can provide any additional information needed.

Same, started yesterday, at around 12:00 mine, moscow 8, but to me VPN helps more or less.

Could this issue be related to the encryption enabled in Cloudflare?

My friend told me that he was facing the same problem and told that it is possibly due to Amazon severs restrictions. Not sure if it helps enyone here but he uses Antizapret to counter that problem. My only fix right now is GearUP Booster

Could you give us URL to check connection without launching the game?
I tried all links from https://bsp-sup-sd.atoma-discovery.com/bishop/steam_1361210_default (seen it in logs), but they all work for me, only when loading in to the Mourningstar I get errors

hanging the provider does not help

Good afternoon, guys!
At the moment, I have tried several solutions to the problem.:
The ban (a popular thing in Russia) does not help
Checking file integrity does not help.
VPN - Chinese VPN Trojan - does not help, the download and sending speed of 300-400 Mb/s should be more than enough to safely connect to Mourningstar, but this does not happen and throws out the choice of characters.
I also noticed that the EasyAntiCheat folder in the game folder is empty, and my friend doesn’t have this folder at all.

It is believed the restrictions have since been removed. How’s it looking for you all?

Logged in with no VPN now so it works, but i am not sure they been removed for good, because i was able to log in and play with no VPN during monday or tuesday(forgot which), but not yesterday or today in the early morning.

Can confirm I was able to enter Morningstar and play a match. Other cloudflare hosted resources works too

Issue Type (Required):

Error - Backend Error

Issue Description (Required):

For last two days I’m unable to play the game because of Backend Error - Error signing in. My ISP is Beeline in Sverdlovsk Region, Russia.
I’ve tried verifying game files - no files damaged.
I’ve tried reinstalling the game - Error is still there.
I’ve tried turning off zapret (Software to bypass Russia’s internet blockages) - Error only appeared quicker. It usually trying to connect for couple of seconds before giving the error when zapret is on.
I’ve tried removing Darktide folder in AppData - Error is still there.
I’ve tried to run following commands in CMD and rebooting my system - Error is still there.
ipconfig /flushdns
ipconfig /release
ipconfig /renew
netsh winsock reset
netsh int ip reset
netsh interface ipv4 reset
netsh interface ipv6 reset
netsh interface tcp reset

Is there anything else that I can try? Are the game servers located on Cloudflare or Amazon CDN which is currently being blocked by Roskomnadzor?

Hi @zer0dol, I’ve merged your post here to keep track of the errors our Russian players experience. Some of the workarounds posted in the comments above may be of help to you.

It’s seems like Cloudflare is still blocked on mobile ISP’s, on my home network I have INSIS ISP and I can play Darktide and other Cloudflare hosted resources work. But if I share my mobile data (T2 ISP) to PC Darktide and other sites doesn’t work.
@zer0dol Do you have an option to use different ISP?

@MrMeshok
I’m using not the mobile internet of Beeline but home internet. Currently I have no option to use different ISP. Some Cloudflare hosted resources works just fine. My only problem at this moment is Darktide.

Okay so I tried different version of zapret. 1.8.2 to be exact. Previously I was using 1.7.2b. Forgot to try this earlier but it actually fixed the issue for now.
