He may also be claiming that your are the champion of pieces of shirt, the best piece of shirt around. A small but important distinction.
This seems rather ridiculous to me O_O
Everyone´s free to use whatever setups they like as long as they dont kill their own teammates or die instantly all the time.
Trust me, it is. In general, if someone kicks another (especially if it’s immediately) for build-related things, they’re people that wouldn’t be fun to play with. Chances are, they aren’t that good players themselves and don’t want to admit it (or even don’t realize it) or they were just looking for any excuse.
I haven’t experienced any of these myself, but I’m guessing it’s primarily because I don’t generally play with strangers. Funnily enough, the stories I’ve read here, on Reddit and elsewhere end up giving reasons for kicking that are contradictory: Both using and not using a certain Career (Shade, for example) or setups; both leaving and taking a Grimoire; even (apparently) for actually clutching and saving the run. Of course, most of the stories are from one side only, without significant evidence, so they’re usually to be taken with a grain of salt.
The best you can really take out of these is that no matter what and how you play, someone is out there who thinks it’s worth kicking for, and thus you really should just play whatever you want.
Not a good idea… That’s against the ToS and would get you in trouble with the admins.
Yup, I know it’s against the ToS, but that’s one of the more questionable rules IMO. I know that there’s a reason for everything, but this feels like “Yeah, it happened, but let’s be a better person, rise above it and not mention any names because that would be rude, against certain norms and rules and socially not acceptable”. That’s just bullsh1t to me, but again I’m coming from a different background and I’m sick of the hypocritical standards, SJW and other “socially not acceptable” things.
And yeah, this is in no way anything against you @SmokerT69, you are my favorite Elf on the forum. I’m just expressing my overall feelings
Lol, what do SJW have to do with it? It’s not about whether it’s socially acceptable or not. It’s against the ToS and you shouldn’t do it because there’s no good way for admins or anyone else to verify validity of the claims. I could whip up screenshots and put together a story about someone doing these horrible things and post it on here, saying “let’s shame / blacklist this person”, and who’s to say it really happened or I fabricated it? Video evidence is somewhat better, but I could still provoke someone by being a jackwagon and then only clip the part right after that where they responded in kind.
All allowing publicly posting this stuff would accomplish is turning the forums (or reddit, or wherever) into a flame war and another place for the trolls to harass people outside of the game.
As to my own experiences, actually haven’t been kicked for anything yet, people have tried a couple times though. Best time was when I joined a match as zealot and elf player lost his s*** because I was using the 2h sword. He tried to vote kick me a few times but fortunately the other players voted to keep me. I got sweet sweet revenge by bailing him out several times after he got surrounded and knocked down. When he refused to stop complaining about my gear choices, I let him die the next time.
When we got to where he had respawned, all three of us just ran right past him without even a second glance, leaving him tied up and spectating. He of course lost his s*** again and quit shortly thereafter. All in all, I found it a most satisfying experience!
I’d rather risk that than do nothing. Because, if somebody starts to swear, curse and verbally offend you, it kinda speaks for itself. As you stated, screenshots are easily fabricated, but videos on the other hand have more validity.
I was once kicked as IB because I wasn’t using the drakefire pistols. “You’re supposed to use the pistols, Bardin”. When I explained that handgun was indeed a very viable option, I got booted.
Not kick-related, but a long time ago, I got scolded by an “experienced” player that I should go back to Champion because I obviously wasn’t ready for Legend because I already ran a “Hunter”-based setup on BH and I had to go pickup ammo after a boss fight. Even though endgame stats are not that much of an indicator, I had EVERY single green circle (which wasn’t too hard as BH back in the days when you could still reset your Blessed Shots by killing enemies AND have it not consume ammo… good times, good times), but if anything, the dude should have asked me what my build was. Oh well, at least I didn’t get kicked
@Flinlock is correct; there’s no good way to verify anything unless you see the evidence yourself (it’s too easy to shop a name into a picture and it’s still rather easy to shop a name into a video).
This isn’t about someone heroically going against the system to bring justice to these mean griefers: being aggressive to someone aggressive doesn’t get anything done. It’s against the Terms of Service because it’s not helpful. It doesn’t get anyone anywhere; the only thing it does is give you satisfaction at having punished someone else.
If you want to see improvement in a gaming community, be their role-model! Be so darn polite people can’t dislike you and so darn good that people can’t deny you and they will, inevitably, come around.
What do you seek to gain from that though?
You put your account at risk for the sake of spiting someone else?
I hate to break it to you, but you’re not really doing some greater good by doing that. All you’re really doing is letting the ones you’re trying to get back at win, because this is probably what they want you to do when they act like shiz in the first place.
There’s a mute button in the game anyway, I’d recommend using that. The worst troll is the one nobody falls for. Public shaming does nothing to actually stop the toxicity you’re trying to fight against - quite the contrary, it only serves to fuel it further.
Nevertheless, this is none of my business.
Also, for someone called Angerblaze, I have to say that this is quite an ironic situation.
Yes, there’s irony in it I agree
I came up with that name when I created a Knight of the Blazing Sun character in Warhammer online on the Return of Reckoning server.
Man this used to be funny
I was kicked on “Against the grain” after I picked up grimoire, because “you idiot we told you not to” (they tried to complete free for 60sec challenge). Not sure why they thought it will interfere with their plans somehow.
Maybe you run faster without a grim weighing you down
Pretty sure the people who hop on this “hate elf” bandwagon just have brain damage. I’ve played as all sorts of characters and the fact of the matter is there are players who are just troglodites. Toxic. Ignorant. It’s their way or the high way. They can’t be wrong and you can’t be right. I’ve seen a pretty strong balance of toxicity from all careers and characters, because it just comes down to the player.
As for the topic, I had one time where the match just started and it does that cinematic zoom-in. I was moving forward during that and then after the other players could move, they kicked me because “He’s another one of those solo players”. Mind you, the game hadn’t been going for more than 10 seconds and I even stopped to wait for them to catch up.
You just can’t help people like that.
I had a guy play with me and a bud and it was hypertwitch/deed and me and my bud were the two left alive, then just me. I was absolutely crushing it and then after the match he tells me what I should and shouldn’t be doing for a BW build. I tell him: “I’m doing quite well but thank you for the advice”. He gets all bitchy about it and then leaves.
Doesn’t try to understand. Doesn’t care. Doesn’t matter how well you do. Fortunately these things are not frequent.
Oh I remember one time there was a horde and stuff going on and I nab up I think a tome or something in the heat of things and then keep on slaying. Their reasoning for kicking was: “We wait to pick up treasure until after the horde is done”. They weren’t far at all and maybe 5 seconds of walking and I would be back by them again.
I thought my experiences were ridiculous. The stories in this thread are unreal.
not kicked, but a new personal best for bafflement.
IB player lost his cool yelling at me for “running into the flames to steal all his kills.” I mean WT actual F. Vote kicks to get rid of me throughout the match. Took a grim and immediately Lobbed it to “teach me a lesson.”
(As BH I often use this tactic as the flames stagger the horde and you can top up THP quite fast - faster than the IB can FF you down.)
IB drakegun, complains about other players taking all the kills. Reeeeeee
I’ve seen an oddly large amount of people on ps4 who refuse to let a kerillian onto the team, vote kick them on sight because “she is a bit*h” and “she ruins the game” it’s weird, I think she is funny.
As to why I’ve been kicked. I joined a quick match as Ranger Bardin, my preferred class and I play him quite well, and was kicked once or twice because “play IB or dont play dwarf at all noob”
It’s double funny cause even if you want to be a meta-slave, Slayer is so on the same level as IB xD
(A good Ranger will be too, but just generally speaking)
