So, we now have a system where the normal armory does not generate level 3 or above blessings for items.
Since the last patch, 0 items above 360 were proposed with level 3 or above blessing (as they changed the way items were generated in said patch).
For practical purposes, and not feeling generous, only items above 360 can be useful to the level 30 players, pretty much.
Of these items, all blue items are now uselessly generated with level 1 or 2 blessings.
So any blue item of the shop is out thanks to the updated generation.
Only green and grey items are of possible interests before considering stat distribution and perk from green items.
De facto removing level 3 items from the armory items further worsens the whole gearing system and randomness of it.
The ability to buy basic grey items is already a costly, bad random joke as has been said.
What exactly is this all supposed to do ? What is the design intent behind this ?
Because thereās always some monkeyās paw nerf to coincide with them adjusting items. Like when they added the ability to upgrade in the beta, they took away purple and oranges from the store same update. Now that we have Bruntās Exchange and Emperorās Gift both of those things must be nerfed. Armory Exchange no longer has T3/4 and Emperor Gift now very rarely awards anything of orange quality even doing books hi intensity damnation.
If they didnāt nerf those things in the background I would actually say they were maybe removing resource siloing away from actually making a mostly enjoyable interface.
iāve found items from the armoury by far the best source of new items, although the loss for the blessing inventory is significant. to prove the point i paused this post and did this:
very routinely (iād say every refresh) a 360+ spawns in there now. ideally itās a green, and you should always buy greens of any item which has blessings you are chasing regardless of stats since theyāre much cheaper for the purposes of blessing inventory. in this case i could cheat, since i knew that 1) all braced autogun blessings are bad, so i donāt broadly care and 2) i have one of the two OK ones as tier 4.
i wish they didnāt get rid of it, or turn the frequency down since itās reported as it still happens itās just rarer.
Normal shop is not meant to see great weapons. Brunt Armoury is where to find weapons for crafting. And Merk is the T4 blessing shop.
Sorry if I misunderstood what you said, but what I read is that you are not happy that the shop, now, doesnāt propose items with T3 blessings. Well, I donāt think it is a problem, cause Merkā shop does that.
Brunt armoury is the way to go if you want crafting something. Merkāshop for collecting T3/T4 blessings you donāt have yet.
No, that is your interpretation of how things work since the patch. (And I agree with it, generally speaking.)
What your thought process is not acknowledging is that youāre excusing the lack of clear presentation.
If this was the devsā intent - then why not clearly label these and describe how players are to use them?
If people are frustrated and confused by the new setup (which I have been enjoying myself) the fault lies with Fatshark not explaining how any of this is supposed to fin together.
Not everyone has played 300+ hours of Darktide and can quickly identify how all these gearing tools might feed into and from one another, and no one should have to āfigure it out.ā
Fatshark still has far to go with presentation of their design intent for the gameās various mechanics.
Edit: tried to quote your post in my replyā¦ ended up with no quote and a pencil markā¦ strange. Fixed
The lower 80% of items generated in the armory are de facto useless (280 to 360) + letās say 10% more of just bad stat spreading / perk.
But now the last patch made the third (letās say) of these 10 percent potentially interesting items actually useless. Because all blue now have a level 1 or 2 blessing max and upgrading those is overwhelmingly a waste of resources now.
So the intent seems to be ONLY directed for this system to be a resource sink working against the player.
This intent is definitely confirmed by bruntās armory insane item generation.
The point of these systems is to waste playerās resource. Which is fine if the player can aim his efforts at something while doing so.
Not here though, there is nothing going for the playerās agenda, only against.
Yeah Iām not sure why the armoury blessings had to be nerfed. Also the item rating increase is a bit disappointing. Yes more 360+ stuff is appearing but the lower limit is unchanged. With good stat spread as low as a 320 (already stretching it a bit there) can be a good weapon. A 280 never will be. Melkās stat quality seems to have been nudged only sightly upwards if at all. Weeklies are quicker and easier but I could have sworn they also said weekly rewards would be getting a boost and frankly Iām not seeing it without extensive rerolling.
Altogether a bit disappointing, the only upward tweak that was generous enough was plasteel drop rates but only if youāre up to Heresy and up. Malice drops feel barely better which in some ways is ok but the rate of acquisition is going to feel pretty rough for people who donāt want to throw themselves into Damnation.
I donāt mind the docket cost of Brunt so much as it leading to even more sifting through garbage weāve with no favourite/trash markers for our items itās all just a good bit more of a drag than it ought to be.
Overall itās much better for getting passable weapons with useful blessings but it all feels a bit sub par for what it could be and the various downward tweaks that came with this patch feel very egregious. Armoury now being primarily for good greys/greens and the occasional blue where blessing level isnāt terrible important (or the weapon hasnāt got more than one notable blessing to begin with) doesnāt really sit right with me. I donāt even really expect T4s from the armoury but more regular T3s really couldnāt hurt.
I also have a strong suspicion that T4s roll significantly more often when upgrading to yellow but that is SUCH a plasteel sink while meanwhile weāre absolutely swimming in diamante.
Two steps forward one very needless step back and another to the side.
I mean, if they buff all then, you would say, plasteel and diamantine is useless now, we can get all orange from shop and melk. Letās just wait the shop more often. We dont need to farm those anymore. xD
Finding stuff out in the game is part of the fun. We have discord communities anyway. Everyone can ask others player if they donāt understand. Thatās what communities are for.
And Fandom of course. Do we have that yet?
Idk, arenāt why we play this game because of the difficulty challenges? Arenāt we all the dark souls here looking for adrenaline rush in our soul? xD
Iād be playing Damn and Heresy anyway Iām just expressing sympathy for how slow the plasteel grind will be for those who canāt or wonāt for any myriad of reasons. In fact enjoying a challenge for the sake of a challenge is pretty key my being iffy about top difficulty being made a farming difficulty. VT2 Cata always had such good vibes I think in large part due to everyone just being there for the mission itself.
Youāre confused. I didnāt call for them to buff anything or return those quality items to armory exchange. Only that they didnāt need to be nerfed once again this update.
Following your garbage āit needs to have stupid time gates to be fun xDā logic why did they even adjust plasteel. The changes would have been good on their own if they didnāt have to also nerf the rest of the ways youād get items. If anything it just makes you need more plasteel to get to the same stage as before, defeating the purpose of inflating pick ups.
I thought u guys complain about new players canāt enjoy mission because you guys speedrunning resources and contract in malice. Now they made it like this, you guys complain again?
Honestly Damnation is fun and a good challenge even with new people but really the only challenge the systems around the core gameplay provides is a challenge to my patience.
Itās almost like the complaint has been the systems around the core gameplay are bad and thatās been the consistent complaint since day 1, weird.
Hey now, the context is different okay, i am addressing about ur statement saying the stuff in game is not clear. Like we need some kind of walkthrough.
Can you please not strawman me with things Iāve never said? The only comment Iāve made vaguely like that in the past was about people speed running difficulty 1 playing no attention to their team mates who could well be playing their first ever mission. I never complained about Malice being a farming difficulty, Iām not even really complaining that Damn gives good resources just feel like from ~250 to ~750 plasteel is a bit of a steep jump.
That was also just a small tangent as part of a general discussion about the ways gear progression has both improved in some ways and regressed in others. Honestly it feels like youāre just randomly picking a fight over a stray observation.
Thereās changes in game how you acquire items. Although you still needs more plasteel. You are now somewhat in control what item you want to get through the brunt exchange. And now you also get items through the emperorās gift. Although the one that I get is the one that I have not needed yet, but hey, the hourly shop is also the same, just random items
