Issue with game not closing on steam after recent patch?

Issue Description:
I have the game on steam. Since the latest patch when I run the game and then close out, steam lists the game as “running” despite not seeing anything in task manager related to darktide. If I click my darktide shortcut to run the game outside of steam it will pop the “Starting Darktide…” steam dialog box but then error saying that an instance of the game is already running. If I click “stop game” on Steam, it just sits in the stopping state indefinitely. This is the only steam game doing this.

Attempted Solutions:
I use mods so of course I have tried disabling mods (same issue) & verifying the integrity of the game files on steam as well. Other than that cannot seem to figure out whats going on. Issue is resolved if I close steam and re-open. One time when I did that it popped the “crash” dialog for darktide which makes me think the game is stuck in a crash catch. Previous versions of the game basically crashed at game close every time, popping the crash dump log sender box. Now it may be trying to do that but stuck somewhere? The game runs absolutely fine for me in game, so I don’t know what about exiting wants it to report a crash.

i had a similer problem to this, where the game gets trapped “shutting down” but i didn’t bother with recording a log so i’m going to just ask fatshark to review this guy’s logs instead.

I’ve moved this to Technical Support and plan to query with this with our developers on Monday. This has been a known issue for a while, but it’s odd that it would only occur for you now.

Are you able to upload any console logs from sessions where your mods have been disabled, please?

Sorry for the late response. Are you able to try deleting your user_settings.config and see if the issue persists? This can also be located in your AppData directory.

You may wish to create a backup of your user_settings.config and restore it if it does not solve the issue - as please bear in mind that deleting it will clear any custom options and keybindings.

That did not fix the issue.

Looks like this resolved itself, either through a steam patch or maybe the hotfix that was deployed? Not sure. Weird!
