I'm a little tired of this . .

You queue up for a game, get into a game in progress. You spawn in, in a puddle of fire, with 20 health and 75% curse, no grenades, your weapon is unloaded and less than a mag left, and there’s a Trapper looking right at you.

When we’re first joining a game could we please start at full health? Weapons loaded, all grenades? And while we’re at it, like three seconds of invulnerability?

It’s the worst on Blackout missions, because when you spawn in it takes awhile to even figure out where you ARE in the map.

Yes, this is annoying, but I think the core issue is the infestation of ragequitters who play on difficulties they have no business playing on and lack of punishment for leaving/throwing the games.

If snowflakes didn’t leave at the first sight of things going tough, we would be backfilling doomed runs way less.

might be a hot take but i like spawning in in the middle of awful situations and trying to make the best of them. though getting damage for things that arent your fault and spawning with zero grenades and an unloaded gun is annoying

Yeah, that’s true. I really don’t get why people just instantly leave a game when they go down. I can get being embarrassed if it’s something really stupid, but some people just do it habitually. I had one run earlier tonight were I swear something like eight people cycled through the same character slot because each time one of them got downed they’d quit and we’d get a fill who’d do the same thing.

And more often than not these same people will not pick you up in a timely fashion if you get netted or pounced or ledged.

@psyk Yeah, tough situations are fine, I mean high difficulties are often tough situations. But I don’t want to start with no health or equipment when it wasn’t me who got into that situation.

You do get some kind of invisible to aggro buff (until you start hitting things?). I’d remember the details better if I wasn’t more focused on figuring out what kind of hell I’ve just dropped into.

Can be fun, can be frustrating.

I often spawn straight into defeat screen, such a waste of time and if you doing some penance, well it is ruined.

Would rather an option to join in start mission lobby than joining in the last 1 min of a running game.

On the opposite side I would rather join on last few rounds of Trials mode than the very slow wave warmups.

I’m fine with not having full health but my weapon being unloaded really annoys sh*t out of me.

Yes. If that person is joining that game for the first time (not rejoining) then their health, ammo, grenades etc should all be at full as if starting a fresh game.

It’s not like the person had any agency over choosing to join that game through the lobby roulette.

I have no problem with getting into a mess, in principle you either save the run or it ends quickly, at least it doesn’t last. On the other hand, if I die and I see that the team is rotten, I’m not going to stay, I’m leaving. Time is the most precious resource in this world.

3-5 seconds of invisibility/stealth, or even invulnerability, at spawning into an ongoing game would do a lot to fix this issue of joining into death.

To prevent abuse, the game should simply do a check to ensure the player did not previously leave this same ongoing mission (in which case no stealth or health reset).

Already does

inside you are two rejects…

Yeah let them riot

I’ve done it a few times ngl hell yesterday i did the entire first floor of hab dreyko solo i thought about continuing to see how far i could go but i couldnt.
could be the last game of the day for someone before they have to go to work could be a lot of other situations

It really shouldn’t but it still astounds me at the lack of awareness people in this game have.

I QPd into an A5 lobby with a brand new zealot build, just trying it out. Saw some low double digit players and a +100 ogryn. Both low digits had severely underleveled/non-orange weaps. Neither could stay alive for more than a few seconds. Had to clutch once but we predictably failed later.

QP again, get the same group again and, against my better judgement, ran with it anyway. Oh yeah, no comms from the 2 dead weights either, only the ogryn.
Archivum sicorax mid-level elevator kill room after a slog just getting there with the two noobs constantly dying. Ogryn was better but not goated by any means. Knew that was our wipe since it can take out decent teams.

As we’re failing I just mention in chat there is no shame in playing lower levels till you’re ready. Guarantee the two that needed to hear/see it didn’t. But then the ogryn tells me I need to dip down as well. Like, what bro? I’m not even talking to you and I carried all you a couple times. What are you on about. I guess if you take offense at a comment not aimed at you, maybe it should have been? IDK man.

All to say, yeah, I get bouncing when you can sense a shite team. I do it too. Very rarely, but i know the mood.

I agree about the trouble.
I would really want that we could choose to not jump in middle of a mission. Most of the times, I prefer starting a mission from the beginning.

So, a long time ago I asked that only quick join could permit to join a started mission. However it doesn’t work cause of maelstroms.

Maybe the Havoc system, for this, could be a solution, forbidding to start a new mission till the last has not ended.
But I think the best would be to place the bot in the EXACT same state of the leaver. If he is on floor, the bot stays on floor.

The OP proposition, that i understand, would, in my mind, trivialize again the missions. The fact people leave and a bot replace them and revive an entire team down is already a problem. I am not sure that this would not amplify it.

I genuinely cant stand all the noobs in auric missions and its to the point where its plaguing the game. Maelstrom is filled with noobs who want to play havoc even though theyre horrible malice players with terribly rolled legendaries and auric is filled with perma smite psykers who want more resources and money but dont actually care to engage with the game. I also have to be running into duos of bad players because you will join a mission and immediately you can tell atleast two of your teammates are worthless. Never mind the 2 wound players you load in with and as soon as the game starts you can see they are obviously selling. I can understand why so many people only play havoc 40 but at the same time climbing havoc with randoms is a nightmare cuz most randoms arent competent players but yet theyre somehow in your havoc 20+ game.

Sure bad players can “spice” up hi shock missions but you also shouldnt be a low int damnation player loading into an auric hi shock mission expecting to get hard carried cuz you want more resources even though youre playing the game blind and dont know how to craft which is equally hilarious. Tf is the point of you wanting more money when youre playing the game blind and dont know the first thing about a god roll? Its to the point where its a constant thing and I dont even feel like playing the game half the time nowadays. Its also funny anytime you complain about a perma smite psyker or dead weight in your game people act like youre the problem and not the horrible malice players 3-4 difficulties ahead of where they should be who have zero hi int/hi shock experience. Also people shouldnt say things like well you never going to get better if you dont try cuz there is a difference between playing so many damnation hi shock missions that youre ready for auric and hitting lvl 30 and running to auric as fast as possible.

I had a round earlier I joined into a chaos spawn grab, on top of a fire grenade. I went down and the 3 other people up died like 20 seconds later. Probably the fastest join in loss that wasn’t watching 1 person or literally joining a ‘you failed the emperor’ screen (why does this still happen).

No change nothing you still can do something. This is a good exercice.
