Done with hoping they’ll turn things around, the article released by Corren with Magnuson was delusional and showed a deep disconnect between development and fanbase. If you’re going to put out a puff piece thats nothing but PR jargon and BS along with everything else I hope you go under and the talented people there find better employment.

“im happy how the game got recieved”
maybe he wants his games to get sh*t on? there are people who are into anything lol
Looks like a swedish paywalled newsoutlet.
“It feels like a living game where you want to return, because you never know what’s going to happen.”
True. We can’t choose missions because RNG. We can’t try out gear because RNG. We can’t increase our gear rating because RNG. Truly, they have created a game so devoid of choice and meaningful progress that it baffles the mind. Sounds like they’re karking proud of it, too.
About crashes, of which they had more than any other game in recent history:
- It’s terrible that some people have to suffer from it, but I don’t know how it would have been solved before, says Victor Magnuson.
It seems like crashing that impacted a huge % of users was simply impossible to have been caught in QA.
“Magnuson highlights that the servers held up to the pressure, something that online games often initially have problems with, and also says that he is satisfied with the response that “Darktide” has received.”
HA! Sure thing, buddy. The servers aren’t problematic at all.
So basically, “I hope everyone loses their jobs because I don’t like this game or what that guy said in the article.” Clown. If you want change, provide constructive, non-toxic feedback rather than acting like a 12-year old. Unless you are 12, which would then make this post seem more understandable.
just out of curiosity would you be constructive with EA and blizzard too?
i feel like there’s a point where trying the constructive route doesn’t cut it anymore
Been providing feedback since Vermintide, and I’m tired of going through this cycle of being ignored, then grudgingly vindicated by the dev’s as time goes on and the problems become apparent to more of the community forcing a change/fix. Fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice, its my dumb***'s fault and I won’t be made a fool again and you’ve lost my goodwill.
I posted the entire article with a machine translation from reddit:
It also links to the reddit thread. FS dev communication is just delusional PR bullsht at this point.
You know what, I really hope FS doesn’t go down and this game becomes hugely successful.
How about that for a viewpoint?
It would be a shame to waste all the potential it has, Warframe is a live service game done right that’s kept me coming back for over 9 years, I hope Darktide turns out being able to do the same, because that would be f*cking awesome.
Don’t let your disappointment get the better of you, the game needs work, a lot of it, yes, but from that article it sounds like they’re prepared to do it, for years to come, so cross your fingers, stay constructive, and hope for the best.
I get that people want it to do well, its a fun game and Verm2 is imo the best in its genre, I’m just no longer at that point, the holiday break repeat, radio silence, and then that article being the first official communication that wasn’t Aqshy since before Christmas has me finished. I went through this before with the V2 launch, no lessons were learned evidently and I’m not going to congratulate them in six months-a year when the game is where it should’ve been when it launched.
Then go take a breather, play something else, check back in a month and see what’s been said.
I just see it as an early access game at this point, which means that there will be a constant steady stream of new content that will keep it interesting for a long time, in my mind, that’s a good thing.
Sure you can argue it should have been in a different state on launch, I’m pretty sure every developer who worked on the project wholeheartedly agrees with you, but things rarely go as planned and when it gets rough you gotta just put your head down and do your best.
From their side, they need to come out and be open about what exactly happened and what they mean when they talk about their current “design intent”, and from the players side we need to accept that things evidently went wrong and need more work before it’s really done, but with patience we’ll probably get there.
At this point I want them to go down and get replaced by a Dev that actually listens to its community. See payday 2 or DRG.
Best case scenario some ex FS guys band together and make their own tide game. I could give a rats ass about the Warhammer license as long as they nail the gameplay, they can have my money and support.
Simple as
If it was tagged early access I’d genuinely have no problem with its current state as they’d be being honest and I can respect honesty. edit I might grumble about the prem shop pricing/design still actually but I wouldn’t be at the point I’m at.
I dont wish them to go under, but the people that made the decisions leading up to this launch need to take a good long look at the mirror and ask themselves if they really belong into game development or maybe should make place for someone who actually understands the genre and it’s players. They can stay at fatshark for all i care, they just shouldnt be allowed to take any decisions anymore.
it just all smells too much of some people having no idea what they are talking about being too high up in the food chain forcing their crap onto everyone else.
I mean, lying about how your netcode and servers are just fine, when you can’t play a normal Malice mission without hitreg issues and laggy weapon switching ? Stellar move.
And just today they added the Network & Connectivity Feedback thread… I mean seriously. Show some professionalism and acknowledge the issues already !
They should probably be sued for selling people a broken product.
They wont learn till they face repercussions. Even then they will probably blame the playerbase.
Meh screw Fatshark. They lost all good will with this product. I too hope they go under, not like we would lose out on much. Maybe a better developer will get the license from GW.
Not like we are gonna be missing out, next FS product is gonna be a corrupted monetized neglected product just like this one. Nothing lost if they go under TBH.
Or just uninstall the game, and stop buying FS games. Clearly you’ve lost faith in them, so take action. Simple as that, cause complaining here in the forums won’t change a single thing given your experience with them since Vermintide 1.
The Devs have had months of that all over the forums.
You can’t just snap your fingers and rewrite thousands of lines of code on a whim. Feedback is important. Calling for people to lose their jobs because you don’t like the current direction of a video game is toxic trash that has no place on sites like this.
They know there are issues that people are having. They see the feedback here, on Reddit, and Steam. You can’t turn around a freight ship on a dime. It takes times. Until then, people can keep talking about the things they don’t like, but there’s no reason to make it personal and call for people to lose their jobs because you don’t like something in a video game.
