Huntsman boss killing too strong?

Yeah, I don’t like that on Kerillians LB either. Just preference though I guess. It’s a little disorienting. I think there will be mods that let you not use it.

His boss damage shouldn’t be comparable to elf though…that tells you they screwed up on balance.

What are you talking about? He doesn’t 1 shot SV with body shots unless he has the required break points to do so or he crits.

Mine does.

…on Champion.

I’ll get my coat.

If you have 27% vs stormvermin and thus give up all power against CW and bosses, yeah sure you can bodyshot SV.

Assuming of course we are talking legend, which is the only thing worth talking about.

Edit: yeah I understand now.

OK I’ve played some more Kruber, and a couple of legend games.

I have a question or two:
Does his aim get less accurate when he zooms, or does the recital space expand at the same rate as the zoom? (I’ve only used the LB, is his zoom accuracy different with different weapons?)
I’ve asked this elsewhere, Why do people say Kruber is the most squishy character? 9 of the other 15 characters seem to have the same health?

A still developing opinion:
So far Kruber feels strong across the various ranges of combat to me.

I do find his Ult feels uninspired, I use it during the boss fights, but basically forget about it the rest of the time.(I’m not saying I find it useless, but it just does not entice you to use it out side boss fights,) and when you do if feels short and uninspired. It also slows his movement down (or appears to) when he turns it on, perhaps if it made him invisible for the entire duration of the Ult, including during any firing he does, it would feel better? (there would be more tweaking I’m sure but I don’t see much of an issue with it.)

Ammo - Too easy, very rarely have I found myself short on ammo, unless I’m playing badly, or the mage is wiping the horde out. It does take a weapon trait and one of his talents but… it’s not a sacrifice that feels like a sacrifice. I don’t think this is a Kruber issues though this is just a ranged thing.

On the whole I’m enjoying playing him in 1.0.8.2,

The dip, zoom, effect and not being able to use the ult while already charging or aiming is very off-putting. The nerf made the ult more skill-based, but with the issues the ult already has it feels like you’re in a car crash while you use it. I suspect this is why people feel so hard done by and agree that it should be changed.

I think once those things are ironed out and people are able to easier reach the new potential of the ult, that’s when they should start looking at individual changes to weapons during the ult. Otherwise you’re going to be making changes based around something that’s difficult to use, remove the difficulty and see that it becomes too strong again.

I think to the average player that’s going to be too distortive to make the ult work properly. Definitely needs looking at.

Would also add that a lot of people who are playing V2 have probably played OW and have seen how clean ults in an FPS setting can be pulled off, so they have those people to impress too.

Has someone that Graphed/recorded that somewhere? (I’d like to know the actual times.) My complaints have revolved around double switching, “Switch weapons, hmm nothing, switch Weapons… sword switches in then out…” rather than the time involved in the actual time taken to switch. Is this related to specific weapons or all Kruber ranged weapons, I’ve not experimented with them yet.

Thanks for the clarification. People in other threads are saying less health, it’s been confusing me. Is the Huntsmans weapon swap slower than the mage’s swap out?

Sorry to bombard you with questions.

Just because hes playable doesn’t mean everythings hunky dory though. You could literally remove bounty hunters career skill and he would still be legend viable. Huntsman is still playable for sure and is new and shiny for a lot of people but its insulting to people who have been playing him for a long time to leave him in a worse state than he was on launch. At the end of the day you still need good teammates to let you shine as huntsman as certain specials (gutter runner) can be difficult to deal with because of his weapon mechanics and immobility and he can’t tank clustered/large horde waves for anything. Meanwhile you can hard carry 3 potatoes for an entire map on beam sienna…

Sure and I’m not claiming it is, I’m playing him for the first time, asking questions, and posting my experiences.

Well that may or may not be needed, I can’t know as I’ve only just got to him, but as a player without any expectations of what the Huntsman should be I can say that I’ve enjoyed his abilities in 1.0.8.2, though his Ult feels like a present in crushed brown cardboard box to me. I’m not sure exactly why that is.

I find the sweep on the 1h-sword does not compare to the 2-h dwarf hammer, but it does the job when I need it.

I’ve actually felt better against the gutter runner with the huntsman than I have the shade, (excepting her Ult, which the huntsman duplicates for avoiding it.) but that thing just pissed me off no matter what I’m playing, I need to get the dodge or the push timing better for it, and the packmaster dodge while I’m on the topic.

Yeah but that would be a topic for a different thread, I am of the growing opinion that the beam staff is the ultimate laser pointer of doom, horde stopper, shotgun knockback, boss killer and elite sniper all in one with amazing heat reduction abilities. though I’ll have to use one to see if it’s all it looks like.

Well mentioning beam sienna wasn’t too off topic this is one of many threads recently about krubers current state of balance. Some people are willfully ignorant so I have to point out things that have always been busted but are still around.

Regarding dealing with disabler specials, the gutter runner with pause slightly and crouch before every pounce, you have to dodge the moment he does this as if hes already in the air it will land. Packmaster is a little bit trickier but the same idea. He has to get into melee range first then he will kind of wind up for a half second before lunging. Generally speaking shade has an easier time with them bc the increased dodge range makes dodging disabler specials painless, that is why I made the comparison.

Need to get around to Sienna with Beam. Flamethrower is already OP, but that’s down to the ult. @Plutarcho

The issue you raised about Beam Staff was the same issue I noticed with Huntsman last patch. Largely attributed to ammo regen from ult and the ult bug. Ammo regen from penetration still seems really strong. Especially with high crit chances.

Sweet merciful Christ. You wouldn’t stop crying about how “OP” HS was and you haven’t even played half the gd gamn meta? What’s your definition of OP? How could you rationally suggest something is OP when you don’t have a friggin clue what the meta is like?

Stop saying stuff “seems” wrong when you’re only comparing it to your personal taste. That’s not how balance works.

Are you ok?

Are you? You make these terrible suggestions and then turnaround and it’s like, “oh, lol, I don’t know what other characters are like I just thought it was too strong.” Kinda a big deal. I didn’t even realize how limited your HS experience was when you were crying for HS nerfs, which is also a big deal.

Leave balance to people who actually play enough of the game to have an idea of how different characters, classes, weapons, and talents actually stack up.

Yeah, I’m fine.

“Fine” people don’t try to sway devs with misguided and misrepresented feedback. If this was a larger company it wouldn’t be a huge deal because they’d have the team to be able to more easily call you on your bs but as seen via the recent HS changes, that isn’t the case here.

Why should anyone listen to a word you have to say when you’ve admitted you don’t know most of the classes/weapons/combos/talents well enough to comment on them at all, you’ve clearly stated a bias regarding the meta, and you’ve misrepresented information?

I just meant fine in general.

That’s objectively false.
